She shouldn't feel intimidated about suggesting choreo for her song cause it was her song in the first place. it think its a general problem of girlgroups,maybe thats the reason chungha was successful solo so early cause she was known for her ability to dance/sing/perform well aswell as create choreos and direct to give your song your own touch,in girlgroups you are part and try not to overshadow your other members/shine less solo but more as a group,somi had all abilities to go solo and her voice stood out but she was trained her whole live nearly beeing in twice,beeing in IOI,nearly debuting with ITZY... to be a girl group member,black label really fits her way more than jyp

I like the fact when teddy told somi to take the ownership of her dance , costume and stage because she will be the one performing. All YG artist is trained to be in charge, leader and ownership. Even TREASURE will released slowly from YG pampering. (Because they are still in child age)
@@blackdurian3601 that’s thing YG didn’t train Somi JYPE did which is why Somi struggles with ownership of her artistry. JYPE teaches obedience and having everything handed to you. Jyp chooses soft hearted kids that are so nice that it’s hard for them to stick up for themselves like Somi. I think that’s why Somi has such a hard time. She wasn’t trained to have this kind of control in her career and while it’s amazing to have it’s also incredibly difficult to deal with the pressure of it. if it doesn’t go well it’s on you. YG trainees get taught that early on. They spend their whole trainee period making mistakes and getting told off so that when they debut they are already use to the pressure. They also are pushed to find their own individual colors while in JYPE they push collectivism.

somi has a lot more freedom at the black label, you can tell she’s genuinely happy to be there. it’s great that she’s friends with other members of the black label and the staff. before i didn’t know what to think but now after watching this series i can see it’s a great place for her!
Yes she is, but somi needs to show people that she's the boss so everything she prepared so hard will be pays off instead paid dust. That's how life works. I want her to be strict in evrything now so she will Shines brighter. Work is work there should be a profesional line to it eventho she close with some of them or else it will be ruined. Teddy was spot on in his lecture to SOMI, if things fell apart at the end, she had the most to lose. I mean she's 18/19, she hasn't really had THAT much experience to cement confidence, let alone her own perceived clout in the industry, mix into that bag her being younger than all the dancers and you got a recipe where she's too afraid to express her opinion or let alone "put her foot down" on creative decisions. I guess she really needs a few solo successes to boost that confidence of hers, it's natural to feel intimidated by all the experience and talent you're working with when you're just relatively starting out.
It comes natural to her because of her personality, but I do hope she eventually learns when to be professional and confident to speak out her opinions as an artist. There are times when you have to be selfish for your own gain.
Yeah, I think Somi lost a lot of her confidence and Teddy is helping her take back the control she lost before. A big thing with girl groups is to not outshine your group too much and this I think forced Somi to hide/dampen much of what made her unique. TBL seems to be pulling her out of her shell :)

I love Teddy Park's way of helping Somi, instead of letting her be insecure in her abilities or believe she can't do it, he lets her know what she needs to hear instead of wants to hear. He is firm yet considerate with his artists. He wants just wants them to try their best. Even when moments where she was like 'its hard for me' ,he tries to keep it real for and tell her that its hard for everyone at some point. By giving a more realistic outlook to her, he is making her stronger. Its almost adorable at the same time that he is soft for her since she is the younger sister that blacklabel needed,
I kinda get a feeling of why she left JYP now. She was a trainee for a while and then she suddenly debut in IOI. Once she made her debut, she never got a chance to practice like other trainees. She went to school, doing variety shows, MCs, CFs, and a lot more things compared to other trainees. She is behind in training and she didn’t want to let the group (ITZY) down because if she would debut in ITZY, their debut would be delayed, etc because of her schedule with no time to practice choreography. Another thing would be that she was born in Canada so yes, she loves her freedom as an artist as opposed to many other companies in Kpop that are super strict about everything. She’s been in the industry for a while now so she knows what’s best for herself. BLACKLABEL, imo, is the best for her. Fighting, Somi-ahhhh!!!!!
Joohyun Bae I agree with everything you said except for her making debut with ITZY. I honestly don’t think her “training” so to speak would’ve delayed anything. Since we don’t know the facts about that can we not comment on it. After seeing how they operate at JYP from multiple variety shows and survival competitions, trust me...they would’ve found a way to make it work.

Somi had the same issues when she was in "sisters slam dunk" except it was about her singing but she had a good vocal coach he gave great advice on her singing like how teddy helped her with her dancing

I really love how black label isn't doing it in the traditional ways with Somi. Usually, artists release teasers, and anything regarding their comeback is blurred out in the videos. They didn't do that here and it made me feel a closer connection with the company because we sorta got to watch the process and everything was extremely real.
I didn't know somi struggled with that issue, she seem so confident and bubbly that I never expected her to struggle with something that I struggle with. its refreshing to see that someone so social and confident deals with similar problems as I do. it gives me hope that I can do better :)

I really thought The Black Label was a bad choice for her but after watching this episode and seeing how supportive and loving they are towards her, I completely changed my mind. She clearly wasn’t happy at JYP but now she has TBL and YG artists and staff and will actually look out for her and help her to become an amazing artist like them. That's True! Being a Soloist is not easy task. You have to have absolute control over your content that is being released bcoz if any mixed or unfavorable reviews come in, it has all to be borne by the Artist itself, especially if they have creative control!

Personally, I think it's so good to let our girl in The Black Label. She can be truly herself, and show us her real amazing ability without any hesitation. She is loved by everyone not only in The Black Label but also in YG, which makes me really happy. And I think Somi can receive a lot of useful advice from Teddy oppa, and he has pointed out that she should speak out her opinion to make her preparation more perfectly( this is really necessary for an artist to reach the success, especially in music). For me, The Black Label is a suitable choice for Somi and TBL is getting more colors when Somi joins in. I really want to support the black label now. im becoming a tbl stan. teddy is such a great ceo, with his attitude and leadership i know this label will rise as a family and become succesful and be part of the big 3 someday. I'm glad that i'm here from the early start of this agency. :)
One of the things that got me surprised and all while watching this, was most definitely Teddy. He's always the one you would think is super strict and things like that, but dude was nothing but a sweetheart (in his own way), and you can see how real he was being, even if the camera wasn't there. So, kudos Teddy. His advices for Somi were always on point.
I'm crying when she start to tear. She in dilemma bcause the dancers, unnie, and keeping others feeling safe. Hope she can enjoy her comeback and be herself. Fighting!!!
i think that somi had a hard time when she's at jyp. i mean we all knew that jyp has a strict judgement when it comes to dancing. look how synchronize and detailed itzy, twice, got7, and stray kids choreography. TBL is more like a chill, be yourself vibe. so glad that she join TBL so that she can express herself more freely! fighting somi ya we got your back!! (the new song sound bop tho i'm hella excited)

Like ofc every company has their own strengths and flaws but I’m just glad Somi as an idol managed to find her new place in TBL. Everyone has their own preference of what a company should be so let’s all trust in Somi and her family too for choosing TBL

Why do i feel like YG is opening their curtain bit by bit, like showing that "We're human too, just a bit eccentric, like everyone else" now. I'm glad that they did unveiled another side of Teddy, rather than keeping Teddy of being mysterious shadow like secret final boss.

idk if its true or not, but he (teddy) apparently really hates being the filmed. i remember from 2NE1 TV he started covering his face with a mask. before that, he only keep his hood up with a hat. he’s not really going for being mysterious, but shy. all of them are (esp BB) they want to keep low-key. but many fans hates that. so idk🤷♀️

Teddy isn’t just someone who helps in producing music, he’s also very influencial for Somi. Somi followed Teddy’s advice about voicing her opinions and changing the choreography. These two people really work well together.
Good thing that she's now in the right company with a lot of caring oppas and unnis listening and helping her. Hoping that after her oppas comeback this year, she'll release at least a single album.

I really like how Teddy was telling Somi to take ownership of her choreography cause he's right, it's her song and she is the artist. She shouldn't feel intimidated about suggesting choreo for her song cause it was her song in the first place. @@blackdurian3601 that’s thing YG didn’t train Somi JYPE did which is why Somi struggles with ownership of her artistry. JYPE teaches obedience and having everything handed to you. Jyp chooses soft hearted kids that are so nice that it’s hard for them to stick up for themselves like Somi. I think that’s why Somi has such a hard time. She wasn’t trained to have this kind of control in her career and while it’s amazing to have it’s also incredibly difficult to deal with the pressure of it. if it doesn’t go well it’s on you. YG trainees get taught that early on. They spend their whole trainee period making mistakes and getting told off so that when they debut they are already use to the pressure. They also are pushed to find their own individual colors while in JYPE they push collectivism.
Somi is the only one who can make fun of the YG/BL people who’s known to be swaggers. She brings light to black label.

Teddy was spot on in his lecture to SOMI, if things fell apart at the end, she had the most to lose. I mean she's 18/19, she hasn't really had THAT much experience to cement confidence, let alone her own perceived clout in the industry, mix into that bag her being younger than all the dancers and you got a recipe where she's too afraid to express her opinion or let alone "put her foot down" on creative decisions.
I guess she really needs a few solo successes to boost that confidence of hers, it's natural to feel intimidated by all the experience and talent you're working with when you're just relatively starting out.
It comes natural to her because of her personality, but I do hope she eventually learns when to be professional and confident to speak out her opinions as an artist. There are times when you have to be selfish for your own gain.

Yeah, I think Somi lost a lot of her confidence and Teddy is helping her take back the control she lost before. A big thing with girl groups is to not outshine your group too much and this I think forced Somi to hide/dampen much of what made her unique. TBL seems to be pulling her out of her shell :)

I love Teddy Park's way of helping Somi, instead of letting her be insecure in her abilities or believe she can't do it, he lets her know what she needs to hear instead of wants to hear. He is firm yet considerate with his artists. He wants just wants them to try their best. Even when moments where she was like 'its hard for me' ,he tries to keep it real for and tell her that its hard for everyone at some point. By giving a more realistic outlook to her, he is making her stronger.

I kinda get a feeling of why she left JYP now. She was a trainee for a while and then she suddenly debut in IOI. Once she made her debut, she never got a chance to practice like other trainees. She went to school, doing variety shows, MCs, CFs, and a lot more things compared to other trainees. She is behind in training and she didn’t want to let the group (ITZY) down because if she would debut in ITZY, their debut would be delayed, etc because of her schedule with no time to practice choreography. Another thing would be that she was born in Canada so yes, she loves her freedom as an artist as opposed to many other companies in Kpop that are super strict about everything. She’s been in the industry for a while now so she knows what’s best for herself. BLACKLABEL, imo, is the best for her. Fighting, Somi-ahhhh!!!!!

I really love how black label isn't doing it in the traditional ways with Somi. Usually, artists release teasers, and anything regarding their comeback is blurred out in the videos. They didn't do that here and it made me feel a closer connection with the company because we sorta got to watch the process and everything was extremely real.

I really thought The Black Label was a bad choice for her but after watching this episode and seeing how supportive and loving they are towards her, I completely changed my mind. Being a Soloist is not easy task.
You have to have absolute control over your content that is being released bcoz if any mixed or unfavorable reviews come in, it has all to be borne by the Artist itself, especially if they have creative control!
Being a group mean other member can help/complete her where she's lack, but with solo... she's responsible for everything on and off stage

Personally, I think it's so good to let our girl in The Black Label. She can be truly herself, and show us her real amazing ability without any hesitation. She is loved by everyone not only in The Black Label but also in YG, which makes me really happy. And I think Somi can receive a lot of useful advice from Teddy oppa, and he has pointed out that she should speak out her opinion to make her preparation more perfectly( this is really necessary for an artist to reach the success, especially in music). For me, The Black Label is a suitable choice for Somi and TBL is getting more colors when Somi joins in.
Somi is an extremely precious girl as well as a talented artist and she deserves to receive support and love more.

One of the things that got me surprised and all while watching this, was most definitely Teddy. He's always the one you would think is super strict and things like that, but dude was nothing but a sweetheart (in his own way), and you can see how real he was being, even if the camera wasn't there.
