JYP isn't a bad company but Blacklabel is perfect for Somi. She has mad a special place for her in the company, all the oppas treat her so well, she seems more happy and even seems to have more freedom here to express herself and interact with everyone. JYP isn't a bad company but Blacklabel is perfect for Somi. She has mad a special place for her in the company, all the oppas treat her so well, she seems more happy and even seems to have more freedom here to express herself and interact with everyone. JEON SOMI a 19 year old Korean/Dutch-Canadian Solo Artist
1. Competed in Sixteen (the group that debuted TWICE) but she was eliminated on the final round because JYP said she was too young. Shes 14 during that time
2. Won 1st place in Produce 101 and debuted as IOI’s Lead Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Lead Rapper, Center, FOTG, and Maknae at the age of 15.
3. After IOI’s contract ended, she participated in SSD2, debuting in the group UNNIES with 2NE1’s Minzy and other queens.
4. She also participated in IDOT afterwards and debuted in the group GIRLS NEXT DOOR with Seulgi of Red Velvet, Moonbyul of MAMAMOO and other queens.
5. After GIRLS NEXT DOOR and UNNIES promotions ended, she went back to JYP to train as ITZY’s center. She also did tons of CFs and won CF of the Year in korea and even worked with Calvin Klein alongside GOT7’s Jackson and Jinyoung. She also MCed in Show Music Core with X1/UP10TION’s Wooshin.
7. Back in 2018 she left JYP because she wanted to pursue a songwriting/music production career. She was then signed under YG , THEBLACKLABEL as a solo artist and producer.
8. She debuted with her hit single BIRTHDAY in June 13, 2019.
9. Since her debut, Somi has worked with VOGUE, ELLE, KissMe, Louis Vuitton, Dior, and many others.
10. Prior to her very first comeback after 13 months, she was signed under the American label and home to Blackpink, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish-INTERSCOPE records 🔥
