I'm crying :(( Being a Sommungchi is really hard after IOI. I kept on waiting for her, updates for her- she's on a show, posting selcas or such. I was really sad and happy when Somi said in an interview that she would be okay if she didn't debut. I felt sad because I really saw the potential on her since Sixteen and Produce 101, she became a member of IOI and honestly after IOI disbandment, her members joined a new girl group; debuted and released songs but Somi is different.
She's still on a variety show and a MC in music shows, sometimes she's not really active in social media but she tried her best to kept in touch. She left JYP Entertainment and I was really sad I thought she wouldn't be an idol anymore but days after they announced she left JYPE and joined TBL. I was kinda confused because TBL was known for their artists- being the badass, producing a good songs and full of swag. Maybe she prepared for a year before debuting as a soloist. I still have doubts in this company "Is she happy?" "Is she okay?" I'm full of worries and doubts. Netizens hated her for leaving JYPE, they all said it's a big lost and a huge mistake but they're all wrong. Look at Somi now, she's really happy with her oppas, they took care of her, treasured her as if she's a younger sister or a daughter. She's always thankful to them but after watching her in a variety shows and her kinda Somi TV; about her debut stage what she was during the promotion. Then I realized, she's always thankful to them because they make her happy. They helped each other's and cherish each other's. Teddy let Somi to compose her own song, they let them grow. I'm thankful and happy for Somi, she deserved all of this. I can in her eyes that she's really happy- since day one, how Teddy said his plans for Somi. Somi said, "I think our company helps us learn and grow a lot, not only as artists but also as people. That's why I'm so thankful." I can tell she's a lot happier now- happiest person rather. Their relationships are so beautiful and sincere. I hope Teddy will build his own company. I'm always proud of Somi, this is all worth it. This is quite long lol.

dude I just remember that time when it was rumored that Somi signed under the black label, and so many of these jyp stans were just going off, saying things about betrayal, saying her career is over... basically commenting rude ass things etc. and ofc I was obviously going off too in twitter saying Somi is her own person, capable of choosing and making her own decisions etc.
Back then I wished her many good lucks and seeing this now makes me so happy, she's happy and doing her thing surrounded by many lovable people. Somi, keep going!! As a same aged person I can totally say she's inspiring

@akikozz first off I just read through your comment, and I just wanna say I obviously felt the frustrations people had back then especially jyp stans, that frustration came out as negative and just bad comments in general (I'm talking about twitter since I was there back then, also her instagram was just spammed with rude stuff). Tbh in my opinion and what I really feel like is as a fan of someone u should geniunely trust the artist and wish for the best instead of what those so called "fans" did back then ( I'm not talking about u). These people, I can't even call them fans cause it was really terrible seeing how much hate she was getting.
And another major thing u mentioned was TBL, many people didn't know what to expect. Many people also didn't know shit about TBL, people were throwing so much shade cause they just heard about YG being associated or something in similar. I'm not the biggest fan of YG himself but people needed to seperate shit back then, somi signed under the black label which is headed by Teddy but they just wanted to comment shit about YG without knowing anything themselves.
these somi episodes have made me realise how yg and theblacklabel really do treat their artists and proves what the media says is wrong, which is why as a fan of somis and blackpink, however long it takes to comeback it comes out a bop and surpasses many peoples expectations!! not just that i can see that ygs artists really dont push themselves and still have their own time compared to idols like twice (providing an example because this is a recent problem)they’ve constantly had comebacks and are forced to work and are warned out so it’s good to see the behind the scenes of how YG treats their artists
And I also feel like having no comeback doesn’t mean the company does the artists dirty .It means they are considerate for their artists .They not only let their artists grow as artists but also as people

I love their relationship. Like there is no hierarchy. You're close friends with your 'CEO'. In effect, you'll be so comfortable with your work and the environment itself 💖
I am sure there's no feeling of hierarchy since TEDDY is probably well known in the industry, so there's already respect when new artists come onto the TBL. Also the company is still pretty small, and small companies inherently have close working relationships between the staff and boss.
It’s probably only because Teddy is from the States and also a lot of his co-producers too. So they have that American vibe that is not based on hierarchy and age. That is the only way one can grow, from your own humbleness and humility. That’s why Teddy and even Bigbang still all 90 degree bow to their juniors.

I like how many YG stans are here right now. We all miss the good old days and how we could hope for it in TBL. It maybe difficult these days but YG family will always be together and rise up again. Even when ex-YG artists left the company, they will always be part of it.

For reals?? Not aware of this but totally agree with you. On Twitter fans are going crazy for the lack of contents from BP lately. It is completely understandable and fans are right also. But keep in mind that just because YG never really reveals their plans or give explanations for change of plans doesn’t mean they aren’t working on it...
YG houses a lot of great artists and while they are talented and many are producers now, TEDDY is still their main PD that checks and help out with EVERYONE’s songs 🙌🏻

I think as fans we want to have a variety of promotions, but as artists, it might not necessarily be what makes them happy ... Having time to train, work and choose how you want things may be better, even if it takes longer, satisfaction when it is released it will be much bigger and I believe that as singers this is what they prefer. Ex; TWICE has already had 4 comebacks in one year, apart from the Japanese. Do you think they can rest? get out? enjoy the moment they create music? that's why they end up being more and more robotized when they sing, perhaps due to monotony and tiredness.

한국어라 댓글이 보일진 모르겠지만...^^ 일단 일기장이라 생각하고 주저리해봄. 식스틴, 프듀를 지나 그동안 제왑삐의 소미가 어울렸고, 잇지에서의 소미도 너무 잘 어울렸을 것 같아서 아쉬운 마음이 없었다고 하면 거짓말임. 데뷔곡 무대 때 소미가 무대를 즐기지 못하는 것 같아 회사가 안 맞나 싶은 생각도 들었었음.(노래는 찰떡이고 흥나고 다했다. 테디노래도 어울리는구나 싶었) 그런데 이번 더블랙레이블 리얼리티(?)를 보면서 진짜 그런 생각 싹 사라짐... 소미는 자기가 원하는 방향성을 갖춘 회사를 선택한거고 그 안에서 소미 자신이 하고 싶은 걸 하게 해 주는 회사를 들어간 거,,, 소미야, 진짜 작사 작곡부터 안무까지 아티스트로서 성장하게 해주는 곳에서 하루하루 열심히 살아가는 널 보며 나도 다시 과제하러 간다 ㅠㅠ 컴백 기다릴게
