My father in law looked SO much like Mick. When he lived in California in the 70s, he used to get asked for autographs. He’s passed now but seeing these old Stones videos makes me almost feel like I’m watching my FIL too.
It's not just a song but a masterpiece and a Hit. It's so amazing and great that this song is 51 today. It's one of the best Rolling stone's song. Who's listening to this masterpiece in 2🎧24? Masterpiece forever and ever
Angie is the first Rolling Stones song that I fell in love with when it was released in 1973. It's an extraordinary ballad, written primarily by Keith Richards. Mick's performance is transcendent.
When I was 9 years old I declared The Rolling Stones to be my favourite band because of Angie! 50 years later, they are still my favourite band, and always will be! I think I actually saw this performance on TV back then, or some other performance of theirs. I remember sitting on the floor up close to the TV in amazement!
One of the most beautiful songs ever! Keith's guitar and Nicky Hopkins' piano, Mick's plaintive singing, all create a real moment. And I never knew whether it was a mistake or an act of genius the way you can hear ghost vocals, presumably from the guide track, fading in and out at times. That just makes it all the more haunting! I remember people used to shut up and listen when this first came out on the radio. Just magical.
Of Couse Nicky Hopkins played the piano on the studio cut, it appears that Mick Taylor replicated a decent piano on this video. The close ups show Mick Ts fingers hitting all the spots. Guess it could be "finger syncing" But it looks authentic to me.
Some songs are born in heaven and drip over the side and fall to Earth. Mick was blessed to have caught this one as it came down at that moment. Love never dies. Indeed, it speaks to us, for us, about us, and enables others to see we will always be here. Together.
Angie, Angie When will those clouds all disappear? Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here? With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, Angie You can't say we never tried Angie, you're beautiful, yeah But ain't it time we said goodbye? Angie, I still love you Remember all those nights we cried? All the dreams were held so close Seemed to all go up in smoke Let me whisper in your ear Angie, Angie Where will it lead us from here Oh, Angie, don't you weep Oh, your kisses still taste sweet I hate that sadness in your eyes But Angie, Angie Ain't it time we said goodbye? Yeah With no lovin' in our souls And no money in our coats You can't say we're satisfied Angie, I still love you, baby Everywhere I look, I see your eyes There ain't a woman that comes close to you Come on, baby, dry your eyes Angie, Angie Ain't it good to be alive? Mick and the Boys yet again teaching us all a master class in music a lyrics, this version of Angie still gives me goose bumps after all these years! Yet Mick and the band would probably disagree, they always showed and still do, the true humbleness of what great lyrics should sound like, fan since 1979.
The Rolling Stones are one of the most talented performancers that I've heard and I know my music and it's amazing how far they've came and are still rock n' rollin. I'm always gonna love em just like every song they play. Most of they're songs are one that'll be on repeat and repeat!
Paul, I know that The Rolling Stones are still making amazing songs even like 40 years later. They're still rocking til this day. I'm glad that they are still alive and not dead like other band members. AMEN!
@@RomanceisSHAME your right I agree The Rolling Stones we’re making great music for many many years but half of them are dead some of them quit I think the stones should have called it quits after Bill Wyman left he gave there there unique sound no baseplayer can replace Bill just ask Geddy Lee or ask Leo Lyons no Wyman no Stones and now Charlie Watts is no longer with us to me they should just retire I don’t wanna see them with any baseplayer or Drummer I don’t care how good they are it’s never gonna be the real stones or the true stones in my opinion the whole band should have hung it up after steel wheels
Must be the best rock ballad ever. Even with Mick's clowining a bit here you still see what a genious of a performer he is. It still looks and sounds so great and clean. Mick's vocals is just so pure and Keith's lyrics just makes my heart cry. Thanks Stones you're the best.

crestlinedan Stones liked Buffalo, NY. Played here 6 times. 1969, 1972, 1975, 1978, 1981, 2015. Yes that Buffalo called ( SNOW CAPITAL OF USA ) Its True are winters are 5 months long. November - March. Crazy Lake Erie dumps 10-12 feet every winter. ALWAYS WHITE CHRISTMAS IN BUFFALO.
21 years ago at Micks birthday I saw the Stones live here in Stockholm. Mick got 60 and before the concert he declared >2 x 30 years or 3 x 20 years I leave it up to you how old I get today< Much love from Sweden ❤❤❤
I was only 18 when this great song came out, the lyrics said one thing but the sadness i was living just the perfect rhythm in it. I had lost the person inlive the most, my grand mother that fell into the hands of kidnappers and took her life before theybeven left. She had adopted my when i was about 8 years of age, she gave me a wonderful life that todat at 69 years of age still feel her in my everything every day of my life. This song is just as sad as i felt when my grandmother went to heaven, she is the greatest thing i ever had in life. I know up in heaven today she reads my words and makes her soul and spirit get a breeze felling satisfaction and recognition that what she did really brought for me a wonderful life. THANK YOU GRANDMOTHER!
Eran genios y figuras 👏👏🤩
I love the Rolling Stones and Mick Jagger is so totally Awesome, My Daddy played all these song's to me in the 60'S on his Guitar, I'm 61 year's old and love my 60'S, 70'S, and 80'S music best music ever, you know your a legend! 🎶🎙🎸🥁💯🔥
vjfern Don´t feel sad !! there is always someone who is in a worse situation than you. There are millions of lovers waiting for you..just have luck and meet them :-) time cures every pain.
Maestro.
Beautiful song and Mick has a beautiful voice this was always my favorite rolling stone song how I wish music today was this good I wouldn't waste my time listening to today's music
Watts' expression at 0:54 is typical Charlie Watts. He always had the expression on his face like "Why the hell am I even here" when he was playing the drums. I always like Watts and he was one of my favorite of the Stones. One of The Stones' best song in my opinion among many other great tunes they have.

Angie, Angie
When will those clouds all disappear?
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here?
With no lovin' in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
Angie, Angie
You can't say we never tried
Angie, you're beautiful, yeah
But ain't it time we said goodbye?
Angie, I still love you
Remember all those nights we cried?
All the dreams were held so close
Seemed to all go up in smoke
Let me whisper in your ear
Angie, Angie
Where will it lead us from here
Oh, Angie, don't you weep
Oh, your kisses still taste sweet
I hate that sadness in your eyes
But Angie, Angie
Ain't it time we said goodbye? Yeah
With no lovin' in our souls
And no money in our coats
You can't say we're satisfied
Angie, I still love you, baby
Everywhere I look, I see your eyes
There ain't a woman that comes close to you
Come on, baby, dry your eyes
Angie, Angie
Ain't it good to be alive?
Angie, Angie
They can't say we never tried

Yes, I'm 63. I totally agree with you
21 years ago at Micks birthday I saw the Stones live here in Stockholm. Mick got 60 and before the concert he declared >2 x 30 years or 3 x 20 years I leave it up to you how old I get today< Much love from Sweden ❤❤❤
Yes❤️

This was my husbands and my song when we first met at the age of 23. He died of terminal cancer at the age of 25. This song has meant so much to me through my life at the age of 64.
Oh Kelli... whatever you may be you must know your comments touched my heart, losing your loved husband as such a tender age, ma'am... Hoped you recovered and with his spirit next to you you had a happy life afterwards. I never liked the Rolling Stones but after listening now to this version I am hooked. Stay well ❤️
I've given up hate except for my hatred of the dreaded C.
I sincerely hope you've found peace and comfort since your husband's passing.
I know what you went through , lost my first wife of 27 years together and raised 2 kids . I lost her do to pneumonia, I will never forget her, but i found a new wife now , and praying to have as good of marriage now.

I am sorry for your loss and I hope that your soul has found peace with the love of your life in heaven for many years watching over you.
