And I never knew whether it was a mistake or an act of genius the way you can hear ghost vocals, presumably from the guide track, fading in and out at times. That just makes it all the more haunting! I remember people used to shut up and listen when this first came out on the radio. Just magical.
Of Couse Nicky Hopkins played the piano on the studio cut, it appears that Mick Taylor replicated a decent piano on this video. The close ups show Mick Ts fingers hitting all the spots. Guess it could be "finger syncing" But it looks authentic to me.
21 years ago at Micks birthday I saw the Stones live here in Stockholm. Mick got 60 and before the concert he declared >2 x 30 years or 3 x 20 years I leave it up to you how old I get today< Much love from Sweden ❤❤❤

Mick and the Boys yet again teaching us all a master class in music a lyrics, this version of Angie still gives me goose bumps after all these years! Yet Mick and the band would probably disagree, they always showed and still do, the true humbleness of what great lyrics should sound like, fan since 1979.

Damn, I can remember how we'd play this song over and over and over on the old Rock-Ola jukebox at the pool hall. I must have spent 2 or 3 bux everyday listening to this and I remember as well how the whole place would kind of get a quiet and sullen mood over it whenever it would play. It still does the same thing to me today, almost 40 years later. Today's music doesn't do that for 40 lousy minutes let alone 40 years.

Watts' expression at 0:54 is typical Charlie Watts. He always had the expression on his face like "Why the hell am I even here" when he was playing the drums. Must be the best rock ballad ever. Even with Mick's clowining a bit here you still see what a genious of a performer he is. It still looks and sounds so great and clean. Mick's vocals is just so pure and Keith's lyrics just makes my heart cry. Thanks Stones you're the best.

Damn, I can remember how we'd play this song over and over and over on the old Rock-Ola jukebox at the pool hall. I must have spent 2 or 3 bux everyday listening to this and I remember as well how the whole place would kind of get a quiet and sullen mood over it whenever it would play. It still does the same thing to me today, almost 40 years later. Today's music doesn't do that for 40 lousy minutes let alone 40 years.
My husband and I 1st started dating I remember this wonderful song when I was growing up ❤😢 my husband suddenly passed 2018.

Watts' expression at 0:54 is typical Charlie Watts. He always had the expression on his face like "Why the hell am I even here" when he was playing the drums. I always like Watts and he was one of my favorite of the Stones. One of The Stones' best song in my opinion among many other great tunes they have.
