I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate the work and effort you do to provide calendars, ideas, examples, demonstrations & appreciation. You do so much & it does not go unnoticed. You love us & you are loved back. I know some people have comments & suggestions …most like helping you. But you are amazing & I thank you for all of it!
I’m a knitter and just coming back to quilting after a 10 year break. I agree with you about how you plan what you will sew…..and leaving space for the next new pattern. It’s the same with knitting. I plan a few projects but if something comes along that I fall in love with….I will stop what I’m working on to make the new thing. We craft for the joy it brings us! Last fall I lost my knitting “mojo” and started going through my craft boxes, found a quilt top that was done and ready for quilting which I had made over 10 years ago. I took it right to the long armer! Then set up my sewing machine and started piecing a top I’d already cut out……and jumped right back into the quilting world. I still knit but am enjoying both crafts now. 😊
Three months ago my sister taught me to knit. I’m still learning. I love that you found a quilt top done and one you can just start piecing. I’m also new to quilting and I love it. I have to learn through videos but I enjoy it. Happy sewing and quilting ~Martha
Loved seeing the Secret Lives of Color quilt, Pat. I am inspired to get out my blocks and play. That was a fun project and a conversation starter in my groups. I used a puce color fabric the other day and had a laugh. Funny that you say that you don't think of where the quilt will end up at the start of the project. I am the opposite. If I don't tell myself 'this quilt is for X', I will fall in love with it and it never leaves the house.

Thanks Pat for all your creative quilt alongs, tips, and general ideas of organization. As a Texan I just had to let you know that the state flower you were trying to name is actually called bluebonnets (not bluebells). I think if you were to see them in the spring in their glory, you would forever remember them!
Hi Pat! I'm up way early enough to watch the live but always watch later. I'm sure you were told the Texas fabric is Bluebonnets & not Blue Bells 🤣🤣 We have 2 old bathtubs out back-1 is a clawfoot-that we have plants in. The one has had bluebonnets in it for several years now. They bloomed this year, thought they were finished & most going to seed, then here they go & some started blooming again!! Such a nice surprize! Love the binding on the Secret Lives of Color!

Nadine, you're such a gem! The binding you added to Pat's Secret Lives of Color quilt is perfect! I wasn't able to fit the sew along into my schedule but I really enjoyed watching along. AND the Crush block you made with the unicorn in the center is so pretty! The Crush quilt is on my list...I need to figure out which fabric I want to use and get it started.

I found the book with the Crush quilt pattern in it. I ordered it from Amazon. It’s on my “to do” list. I’m deciding on the fabric to use also. First I have 2 quilts to finish for granddaughters. I have so many projects going!! 😵💫🤪

I tried that to quilt the 18 tops I have sitting in the wings & quickly reverted to this is my hobby I make quilts because I love them. Smart move Pat, it killed my enthusiasm. I immediately made last years fat quarter Halloween & Star of Wonder. Joy has returned!

Just found this channel. Wondering why you have (or Fat Quarters) has all these weeks of pages that I printed then I see that I actually need to buy the book? Waste of ink and paper. I can possibly figure it out but that also takes time. Well thanks I guess. I see the book is on sale. Love the sampler quilt.
Thank you for joining me! It sounds like you are very new to how these work. 😊 The book is FULL Quilts. We are only doing 1 or more blocks FROM that pattern. The worksheets are you GUIDE to what is need to do JUST what is necessary for the sampler. You don't need to print them. Just look at it on your phone or tablet when making the blocks.
