Thank you for confirming that it will record on two separate channels when using two transmitters. I can’t wait for the full release of the DJI Mic II
I do like the new DJI mic 2 transmitter, although I feel like the plastic scratches more easily than the DJI mic 1 did. 🤔 noticed this when taking it out of the pouch!
Thank-you. Love your monopod. The base looks very stable. Have a nice day!
Love the clear design, I hope the dji mic 2 will have the clear design too! Will buy it the moment it comes out.
Definitely want another mic. The microphone is absolutely brilliant. I would love them to do a firmware upgrade in the future where you can add ore the 2 microphones. As usual, my friend, great video 😁👍👌🇬🇧
Thanks for confirming your can record back-up audio to the mic. And you have ability to either record mono or stereo audio. Great information, and thanks for sharing.
how to make stereo sound if I only have one DJI mic 2?
great info and review. The one thing I don't have is a wireless mic, now I can use it with my full frame camera
Amazing video!! Amazing product!!
As a professional audio engineer, I'm embarrassed to admit that I don't know why my Mic 2 record level is so low. Thanks for showing how to adjust the gain. As soon as I get a second mic, I'm gonna walk around with both of them clipped on my shirt because I've always liked stereo ambient sound at the same time. In order to achieve that now, one has to record the stereo audio in the camera, and also record the mono audio on the microphone without being linked, so one can add that center track in post.
Do you have one microphone from the creator combo? DJI mic 2? Your sound is also recorded only in mono and is very flat on the recording? How to fix it? only by purchasing a second microphone?
I need this! Great video!
I was wondering if you could connect 2 mic transmitters to the Pocket 3 at the same time. Glad to see that you can and that you can choose between mono and stereo. Great video! Thank you!
Ya it’s awesome with two.
love the kid's segment!
Awesome setup DJI has there. I still have pocket 2 for now, but I do have DJI mic 1 full kit. Can you maybe do some more Mini 4 Pro videos or maybe bring out the Mavic 3 Pro? Thank you for your advice and tips and all around help.
Hi, great video and thanks for sharing. But one question: is it really true that I can connect and use the "old" mic of my DJI Pocket 2 combo to the new Pocket 3? Cheers, Bernd
Hey, nice video! You're great! I've a very important question... When recording Mic 2 audio is it still possible to record ambient audio on Pocket 3 internal mic at the same time (with 2 separate audio channel, of course)?
Great video. Will we be able someday to connect the Mic 2 to the Bluetooth function of the DJI Action 4?
How did you color correct this video? Is it really just changing the color space using the official DJI LUT? Amazing colors!
Thanks for the great video. I got the pocket 3 for Christmas and looked all over for instructions on the wireless mic. Just the mic, nothing else.... What are the three buttons do, what do the red, blue, flashing blue, green, flashing green, steady green, actually mean..?, and why does the orange bar sometimes come in the screen and other times it does not. Sure would love a video just on the mic, A slow, simple, complete video that does not include a bunch of other features. If you make one please let me know, if you know of one please forward. Thank you so much and have a great new year.
Great information. Thanks.
My video/photography business have 2 of the DJI mic 1 kits on deck. Absolutely love them! However we JUST got the 2nd one and I’m suspecting they drop the Mic 2 in the next few months 😅. If it’s worth it. It may be worth selling the 2 kits we have to buy 2 mic 2 kits lol
When you switch on the transmitter, should it auto connect? Also could do with some info on buttons. I.e switch off/on. Hold the button how long etc? Thx
Of all the channels reporting on the new pocket 3, this is the best. One more question not covered. If I have the mic 1 and plug the center module into the pocket 3 USB C port and press record on the pocket 3, does it activate the mic 1's recording? or do I need to press record on those manually. Thank you
or for the money you could get a refurb or open box Mic1 kit from somewhere and have 2 DJI mics + receiver + charging case as well. Me personally, DJI's built-in audio is decent in terms of the Action/Pocket lineup, and the price hike of almost $200 more is a little steep for the combo. Also, just me personally but the battery handle is really the only thing I'd care about.
And, while you can plug the Mic1 Receiver into the Pocket 3, I never really found a major benefit to this:
1. It may compromise the ergonomics of your filming setup
2. It eliminates the capability to have a separate but original audio recording, because it will pair it with the video recording(yes there is also a backup recorded to the mics themselves, and I could be wrong but I think it's lower quality)
3. There are situations where a camera mic might produce or capture desired audio that the paired mics don't, such as noise from the environment; essentially, if you negate the cameras mic system, you can't refer to it as a backup the moment you decide to pair the devices instead of recording with them separately.
Great video, thank you
Good to know, man! Thanks!
that portion with the 2 kids, so cute! 😊
Great video and great camera! What's the range of the DJI Mic 2?
Wonder when DJI will release the mic 2 ? I would definitely pick up a second mic for the pocket 3.
Yeah, how did @flytPath get a second one?
@@BEBETTERGOLFsponsorship. You never Ever heard that word before?
Thanks for the video.
I have the creator combo but no interest in vlogging. I was considering putting the Mic 2 on ebay but today doing some test shots in town were a bit disappointed in the wind noise from the internal microphones on what I did not consider to be a windy day.
Just wondering if there whether there might be a creative way to use the Mic 2, maybe attached to the camera in some way to get better sound instead of using the internal mics. Knowing little about audio, not sure whether the Mic 2 is only really effective relatively close to the sound source, as with vlogging.
I want to make video at evening with low Light. Should i buy poket 3 or buy mi 13 and use with my crane 2s?
Excellent summary of the mic's abilities, thanks for this! Worth mentioning that the mic can be used to remotely start/stop the camera, which can be pretty handy if you are using the mic at a distance. (Maybe you did mention it and I didn't notice...)
wait how??
Could you tell me how? I didn't see it in the manual.
@@haystack1 Push the sync button on the mic and you remotely start/stop recording. If you push the on/off button on the mic you remotely turn noise reduction on/off.
@@golgo13.54 Push the sync button on the mic and you remotely start/stop recording. If you push the on/off button on the mic you remotely turn noise reduction on/off.
@@thomasemilian Wow, sometimes I had to press it twice, but it worked. Thank you!!
Question: if you have the DJI mic 2 up and running and plug the mic 1 receiver into the USB-C port, can you use both mics at the same time??
I love the new mic my only wish is that I could get another one! 😂
Hi! Is there a way to monitor the audio in real time while recording? (I mean, besides visually...)
Maybe via a usb-c headset??
I've been trying to figure out the monitor adjustment. I was assuming we could use headphones to monitor out of the pocket itself like on the Pocket 2, but mine was not allowing me to do so. Any thoughts?
Hi, just wondering if i can use a music player like a dj controller as a direct audio to dji mic or to the pocket 3 (using the audio jack to type-c on the pocket 3 device)?
When I film with the DJI Pocket 3, I think the sound is better when recording with the Pocket 3 instead of when recording with the DJI Mic 2. Do you have the same feeling?
What can be done besides turning on wind noise reduction.
Totally off topic since this was a mic video … I have to say that while the auto tracking is really cool, I feel like it moves too much trying to keep you centered in frame in basic shots. If you are walking around it’s cool to keep the camera on you, however in static standing shots it feels like just too much to be constantly shifting left and right.
yoo nice run down of the mic 2, looking forward to DJI releasing it separately. May end up getting the pocket 3 creator combo to replace my gopro.. been with gopro for years, but the ability to use a mic without having to attach anything to the camera is a game changer.. One question..
Are you able to use/record the on camera mics and the mic 2 at the same time? I guess you could do the mic as a standalone internal recording. But wondering if you could have left - camera mic, right - mic 2? For example?
Just as a stand alone from what I can see.
Did you adjust the gain to get your volume sounding good with the Mic 2?
My gain at 0 doesn't sound good with the Mic 2, but increasing the gain to 4-5 sounds about what you have recorded here. Without using a mic, the sound is almost non existent on mine.
You gotto love D-Jay-I 😆
Could you connect the mic 2 normally with both mic 1s via the USB C? So effectively connect 3 people?
Did see the link for the mic 2 do you have a link want to buy with my new Osmo 3
Do you know the connect button on the mic can also be a remote to start recording and stop of the Osmo Pocket 3?
Question: Does the Creator Pack come with only one mic transmitter or two? If only one, how did you get two transmitters. I don't see mic 2 transmitters offered on the site. Thanks.
Where did you get the second transmiter? because the creator studio have just one! I need to mics!
Hi, is it true that if you use the Bluetooth mic on the Mimo App to control the Pocket 3, you cant Zoom in or out because it gets disabled to be able to use Bluetooth? I was told this by someone on youtube but they had Zero videos to back up their saying. Basically the person said he could control the gimbal function with the mimo app but as soon as he used the included mic he had no access to zoom in and out and still have control of the gimbal function while recording himself. I still havent bought the pocket 3 as i have the wireless Go II i can use with the pocket 3 but i do like the wireless mic deal and like the extended battery you get with the creators combo as it isnt available to buy separately. Otherwise i would get the basic kit lol. Anyways thanks for your feedback.
I think the 32bit float audio is only saved locally and not transmitted to the Pocket 3. Also if there is only one analog to digital converter that will have to record the whole range for it to be useable. Also the microphone capsule is the bottleneck here so if your capsule clips your audio clips irrespective of how you are capturing the audio. hope this helps your viewers to interpret what you're saying.
Yup 32 on the transmitter
Hi...I am having connection issue green light blinks but ownt turn to blue for proper connection. Tried several times no luck,is there how to reset the dji mic? Thx.
Is there any way to monitor the audio with headphones? Would be awesome if you could use the Bluetooth
Hello. I want to use DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as a webcam in Twitch live broadcasts. Will I have any problems with long-term use? What are your suggestions? Have you encountered problems such as overheating or shutting down?
I am not sure but the sound coming from the microphone sounds somewhat compressed/noise canceled, i am saying its pretty bad. At 3:13 its much better, it finally sounds like non-cheap mic. Did recording on the mic changed the result, hence the transmission mic to osmo is the issue?
Some tests about the range distance between Pocket 3 and DJI Mic 2 would be nice. We use our mics to vlog our bike touring trips and sometimes my wife is up to 50m away. With DJI Mic 1 connected to the receiver it works fine. Would be great to know if DJI Mic 2 can do this directly connected to Osmo Pocket 3.
Watch my first pocket 3 video. I use the mic super far away.
Thank you! @@FlytPath
Has DJI updated the design allowing for a "secure connection" on a lav mic? The ability to screw the lav to the transmitter? ~ Michael
Can you connect this mic to something like the DJI Action 4?
But no lock for a lav mic? Maybe they will change that when the kit comes out.
Hi, please explain that if only one mic comes with the creator combo, how do you have two?? and also, how would someone else be able to buy a second one after purchasing the creator combo?
How did you connect the secondary mic to the DJI?
Get dizzy of the oversensitive tracking also the mic 2 deadcat does not even cover the holes to you will hear a lot of wind.
Is there a compatible 3.5mm cabled lav mic that can be used with the dji mic 2?
Does your pocket 3 has some hissing noise in recording result? Both when using external mic or internal mic, it’s like the sound of the gimbal motor
how do you charge the microphone?
You seem to not want to tell us what lav mic you used. I’ve asked in previous video. Thanks.
Hi tks for your video could you recommend a monopod for the dji solo pocket. I saw you using one at the end of the video. Cheers
It’s in the description
what was that tripod you was using at the end?
Where do you buy the dji mic 2? I can’t find it on the site ?
Anyone know if I can use the mic with iphone too? I have a rode wireless already BUT, I really want to get the creator combo so figured I could sell the rode
The microphone is the best accessory for the pocket 3. I would like your opinion please.. Should I buy the Combo (+ 150) for the microphone or should I buy the standard version + 99 for the microphone alone (-50 savings over the Combo) what would you suggest?
Combo. U also get the battery pack.
Can I wirelessly transmit the audio to the Osmo Action 4?
How did you get two MIC2s?
What do you make it to record a back up? Automatically? Or do you have to press the red button as well?
As shown on the vídeo, you can set it up to start backup audio recording as you press record button on Pocket 3. It work in-sync with Pocket 3. Also, as you press recording button on Pocket 3, a LED indicator lights up on MIC 2 unit, showing internal backup audio recording is working.
I wondering how we know when memory capacity is reached or how long recording time is available and how to erase old recording.
How do you get the wireless mic 2 to work as a stand alone recorder. I have mine set for 32 bit float, and when I press the record button on the mic 2, the red light doesn’t come on, so it doesn’t record anything. Is there a trick I’m missing, or do I have a bad unit. The wireless mic 2 works fine when link to the pocket 3.
Can you just use the dji mic 1 with the dji pocket 3?
How did you obtain a second Mic 2 for the two person setup? They don't seem to be available for purchase anywhere as a stand alone item. Nice video.
Probably he got 2 full packs of Dji Pocket 3
How can I use the mic2 with the internal mics of the osmo 3?
Hi, is this mic directional?
Hey Flyt! Do you have an idea as to where i can get a second mic 2? I'm in real need for 2 mic content !
Hey quick question did you happen to find away to buy a 2nd one?
@@alpacino4899 no i didnt unfortunately, wish i knew!
Can I connect TWO mics?
how do i get a second mic?
Where i can get extra dji transmiter mic 2 ( shadow black) for my dji pocket 3 combo ???
This...I can't find it anywhere.
What is that monopods with feet?
I am interested in the Pocket 3, but I use Davinci Resolve Free version for basic editing. My understanding is that DR Free does not support 10-bit video, but the $300 paid-version (called DR Studio) does. Everything I’ve seen so far talks about 10bit video on the Pocket 3, which is a GOOD thing generally for professionals. But can it actually shoot in 8-bit video if I wanted it to be compatible with Davinci Resolve Free? Is there a video format or setting that lets you do 8-but depth?
Yeah I'm pretty sure normal colour mode is 8 bit, when you switch to HLG or D-LOG M it says 10 bit underneath
@@Jamesrm101 More feedback I've gotten from other channels says it is that the Normal Color Profile is also 10-bit video (they have some way of looking into the file and seeing it's bit depth). That said, I think all is OK after all because I have since learned that the free version of Davinci does support 10-bit importing and editing, but that you can only render it out in 8-bit.
I've gotten conflicting reports on if the DJI Mic 2 will sync with the iPhone. Have you tried it?
Interested in this as well. One video I saw, is it will pair with an iPhone via Bluetooth, but it pairs as a speaker, not a microphone.
Hopefully a firmware update will fix this.
Yeah, but where to get the mic 2? All these reviewers and no links to buy. (Delivery dates on the combo are way out too)
what's that tripod you using for the pocket 3
got it in your descriptions above
Extra camera
Are you using the audio from the dji mic throughout this entire video? Because at 3:15 the audio sounds clearer and less muffled, just wondering if that shot was recorded with a different on camera mic?
Following I have that same question
It was recorded at a different time a day so that might have changed it a bit. Most of the video was shot when it was windy too. But it was all mic 2.
where did you get the 2nd mic. no other channel reviewing it got two mics. they cant be bought currently.
Exactly my question
Only a guess, but I imagine he has borrowed one from another RUclips reviewer to test the two microphone setup 😉
I guess there is No WAY to monitor audio that is recording. no way to attach headphones huh? I hope I am wrong.... any thoughts?
i noticed when you press the power button on the mic it turns green or red, what does that mean?
Green means it’s on, red means it’s recording backup track to the mic transmitter.
Can i plug de dji mic receiver to the usb c?

I wish they let the mic from the pocket 2 work with the pocket 3!!!
If I connect a small stereo mic to the (single) transmitter, will i get stereo audio in the video recording?
Yes, I connected my Rode VideoMic GO II via a TRS-TRS cable and it worked perfectly.

Yes adapter is needed. I have that listed in my video description.
your duaghter trolled your son shes going to drive him mad later in life lol
wish this would work with the Action 4 without having something hanging off that camera.
Love DJi but not making the wireless mics backwards compatible is a major fk-up, especially for those of us who only recently bought into the original DJi Mic.
Can i keep my osmo pocket 3 in the dry cabinet?
Of coarse, I keep mine in a drum cabinet at 45% humidity with all my camera stuff
@@ronaldcphotography I normally remove all the batteries from my cameras and action cameras before keeping it in the cabinet. I've heard people saying you shouldn't keep your equipment with the battery.
