I've been battling these things for the past 3 days in my en suite bathroom. I had a cat litter box with corn based litter in it. The cats had stopped using it (now i know why), and so I just left it there in case they changed their minds. It wasn't dirty, so I didn't bother cleaning it. Saturday morning I noticed what I thought was black mould in the corner of the ceiling. However, upon closer inspection, it was thousands of these things. Here's what I did. 1. Bag up the whole litter box and throw it out. 2. Vaccume the entire room. 3. Wash all of the walls and the ceilings. 4. Putty up all of the cracks I had in my ceiling and walls. I had quite big ones in the ceiling. 5. Every few hours, I would use a steam cleaner to blast the walls and ceiling, vaccume again and spray insect killer in all the crevices. 6. Clean my extractor fan and leave it on. 7. Open the slats in the window to let air in constantly. 8. Open the windows fully at night. 3 days of this, and I think I'm winning. I still find maybe 2 or 3 on the walls, but they are moving much slower than they were a day or so ago. So hopefully they are running out of energy and the remaining ones will die off. Apparently they can't go without a food or water source for more than a week. I hope that helps some people dealing with this. It takes effort, but you need to hit em hard and keep repeating it over again until they are gone.
I opened a bag of rice today that contained these. They were definitely not weevils, which are much bigger. Ugh. Now I'm worried about the thousands of books in my home. We do keep the humidity low and cooler weather is on the way. This is the first time in my adult life that I've seen bugs in food. The last time I saw them I was a kid and we had weevils in our flour. I've probably been lucky. Hopefully the rice is the only thing they got to. The bag only arrived a few days ago.
I hate these things!!! I had a leaky dryer vent and it attracted a whole bunch of them. Using a dehumidifier almost 24/7 and it seems to be working but still see 2-4 around sometimes
Ive got them in every room on the walls , window frames and skirting boards, my house is a new build n clean!!! I dont understand where there coming from
I'm in exactly the same situation, new build apartment and I am clean, they are harmless and don't bother me a great deal but I know that there are hundreds in my apartment and I can never fully relax knowing that it's infested... So far I have just tried to tape up every single crevice through which they could be getting in... How are you dealing with it?
Urgh ino im so stressed about it! Im not dealing with it because they just keep appearing! I just squish them with my finger then more appear... were moving soon, new builds are terribly built and we have loads of problems with it (was only build last year) so were just moving :/ new builds are the worst

Couldn't sleep for 2 and half days.Took my blood, my sleep, made me waste money on hired bug man, and I still feel them bites like a mutha. The smallest thing trips me out. When I clean I see more of them, maybe I'm too clean and using so much water in general and they love humidity on floors and other house tools when I clean the dust on them... We got them from 2nd hand books but also have a garden and maybe It effected too.. because 3 floor house invaded by them... We tried professional guys to handle it, spray all house with different kind of ingredient for twice. They are still here. I hope they will go soon... It's so hard psycologically.. They are on bed, closet, bathroom, floors kitchen, desk, balchony... one by one but still crashes the psychological health.. :((

it have nothing to do with dirt or being clean, it's mostly a humidity problem that attracts/cause them, so a dehumidifier could help!
