I've been battling these things for the past 3 days in my en suite bathroom. I had a cat litter box with corn based litter in it. The cats had stopped using it (now i know why), and so I just left it there in case they changed their minds. It wasn't dirty, so I didn't bother cleaning it. Saturday morning I noticed what I thought was black mould in the corner of the ceiling. However, upon closer inspection, it was thousands of these things. Here's what I did.
    1. Bag up the whole litter box and throw it out.
    2. Vaccume the entire room.
    3. Wash all of the walls and the ceilings.
    4. Putty up all of the cracks I had in my ceiling and walls. I had quite big ones in the ceiling.
    5. Every few hours, I would use a steam cleaner to blast the walls and ceiling, vaccume again and spray insect killer in all the crevices.
    6. Clean my extractor fan and leave it on.
    7. Open the slats in the window to let air in constantly.
    8. Open the windows fully at night.
3 days of this, and I think I'm winning. I still find maybe 2 or 3 on the walls, but they are moving much slower than they were a day or so ago. So hopefully they are running out of energy and the remaining ones will die off. Apparently they can't go without a food or water source for more than a week.
I hope that helps some people dealing with this. It takes effort, but you need to hit em hard and keep repeating it over again until they are gone.

I opened a bag of rice today that contained these. They were definitely not weevils, which are much bigger. Ugh. Now I'm worried about the thousands of books in my home. We do keep the humidity low and cooler weather is on the way. This is the first time in my adult life that I've seen bugs in food. The last time I saw them I was a kid and we had weevils in our flour. I've probably been lucky. Hopefully the rice is the only thing they got to. The bag only arrived a few days ago.

I hate these things!!! I had a leaky dryer vent and it attracted a whole bunch of them. Using a dehumidifier almost 24/7 and it seems to be working but still see 2-4 around sometimes

I'm in exactly the same situation, new build apartment and I am clean, they are harmless and don't bother me a great deal but I know that there are hundreds in my apartment and I can never fully relax knowing that it's infested... So far I have just tried to tape up every single crevice through which they could be getting in... How are you dealing with it?

Book lice? I just went to war against fleas. Book lice ain't sht. I have never gone through Flea hell till 4 days ago. My dogs furniture everything in just 30 min of having my door open. Just yesterday the Bug man came and murdalized them flease but I was bad all the way past my crack. Filled with bites n sht. Couldn't sleep for 2 and half days.Took my blood, my sleep, made me waste money on hired bug man, and I still feel them bites like a mutha. The smallest thing trips me out. Has me thinking anything is a flea now. Goodness gracious. I feel bullied and abused my those sobs. Had to steam the sht out every corner, bed, mattress. Wish I could understand flea just to hear them scream when the bug man murdalized them. Just that thought made me happy.
    DEATH TO FLEAS!!!!

We are living in new building too, also have so much humidity, this summer we saw %89 humidity... (Turkei Kocaeli)
Also I see that they (booklice) love cleaning. When I clean I see more of them, maybe I'm too clean and using so much water in general and they love humidity on floors and other house tools when I clean the dust on them...
We got them from 2nd hand books but also have a garden and maybe It effected too.. because 3 floor house invaded by them...
We tried professional guys to handle it, spray all house with different kind of ingredient for twice. They are still here. I hope they will go soon...
It's so hard psycologically.. They are on bed, closet, bathroom, floors kitchen, desk, balchony... one by one but still crashes the psychological health.. :((

I also left any books in the freezer for 72 hours (you can do this with any item you're unable to wash in the washing machine).

@@popamarcel375 try pyrid or clean surfaces with borax I have them to mostly near windowsills n all the items near them check closely use a magnifying glass(esp the babies) if u have to shake the item on dark surface to see what’s infested most n throw it out the ones I have found in a dolls hair some boxes magazine books n even posters rolled up things u don’t use often(I mean any paper based item don’t leave it in the open!!) best kept stored in tight sealed plastic bins (u can put those moisture absorbing packets inside storage) since they love cardboard boxes keep humidity controlled area. I even found silverfish who also eat the things as booklice n live longer tho there’s crevices in windows(they hide there or come in from there) vacuum n sprinkle sum baking powder then seal up with caulk.
I keep my shoes in their boxes under my bed which is near my Window n they’ve hidden there too it’s a nightmare I feel like if I move they’ll come along cuz they stuck onto my items ughhh
I don’t have a dehumidifier Gonna try air conditioner, most died durin the winter but it’s summer now I see em crawling I’d get vacuum on window sills areas n surround items like closet walls etc. (u can steam the walls/beds too) for clothes u can shake everything off outside leave em in the sun or use dryer from my own experiences n research they say they won’t get in ur hair then how come they’re in the dolls hair lmaoo prob cuz it was in the window filled with mold/moisture or sum I even found em in Garlic in the kitchen climgbin on the wall around it n the floor
Have u checked where they’re hiding where do u see them most ?
