I remember those. I never ever shared hair clips, combs or hairties ever and people made fun of me a bit. Joke was on them cuz 5 or 6 of them ended up with lice.
As a kid I got lice so many times, all the way up to grade six i got them at least once a year with no idea why or how. My mother said it's because I didn't comb my hair enough, being a mixed kid and not knowing quite well what to do with my hair, I definitely shirked. Eventually she blamed me for getting lice, and would get so mad at me for getting them time and time again. Each time I got them my hair would be cut really short... I hated it because I'd get bullied for having short hair. Eventually she threatened that if she saw one more bug on my head she'd shave it. Enter me in the sixth grade at school trying to ignore the itching and make sure no one stood directly behind me for too long in case they'd see. Combing my lice out in the shower with conditioner treatments etc and just praying they'd go away until they did. Horrible memories. Parents, please remember that lice go to clean hair, check your kid's heads regularly, and don't take out the frustration of getting them on your kids... Don't make the experience traumatic for them.

@@val_gal0602 this has made my week, you're a great mom for not blaming her, i hope they go away quick, with treatments these days being so advanced they should. Lots of love, be strong!
This! My daughter just got lice and I told her it’s not her fault that she got them, it was passed down from one of her friends that have them, and she hangs out with her. I think every parent goes thru this and instead of getting upset just teach your kids good hygiene, and talk to them about sharing and getting to close in contact with kids ect. We made the process fun and she was excited when we found the lice she’s only 7 lol 😂
i had that 7 years because i had my best friend and she always had that (long story and cleaning but nothing)....after I bleached my hair ,I dont know name of that but it really burned lice after it was finally cleaned they all happily died .the end 😇

so you just lathered your hair in conditioner then just combed it with a nit/lice comb for hours? I got lice today cause my younger sis got it from school and it went to me :((
@juliafernandez4990 Yes. Just normal conditioner and a normal comb to smooth the hair, then apply a metal nit comb and just keep going until you see no more eggs or lice. It may take a long time but it works
Just use vinegar? Other people comments say oil, but i dont like it. While vinegar smells strongly and you are fucked if a drop slides to your eyes (ouch!!) , at least noone would know you used it after a shower with normal shampoo
Should have just cut off your hair. That's what my mom did to me. Gone right away. My mom didn't know about the shampoo at the time so we never tried it 😅
Tbh, picking lice was daily routine in my place when I was child and that was fun. That satisfying feeling when you get a lice and kill it through the nails of thumb was indescribable lol.
Zalera when i had lice when i was little i would do the same thing and it makes me cringe!! i would literally pull eggs and lice out of my hair and pop them
i played that game 7 years my nails were bloody but i liked the sound of that 😍...after i bleached my hair (something strong,it burned them) they finally died :')
some traditional treatment say coconut oil can loosen the glue of the eggs so it less sticky to your hair and will fall off when you take shower. it takes long time, but it is better than cutting your hair off.
Now it has been easily possible to get rid of both lice and eggs with a day using "Medilice". It will be easily available in a medical store and costs only 35-40 Indian rupees..
Oh my gosh...... I had lice when I was 7 and it took me up until I was 13 to get rid of them. We tried every treatment, combed my hair for hours, bleached my hair, I stopped washing my hair for awhile to see if they would leave since my hair was always really clean and they like that. Nothing ever worked. Then I moved out of that house and we TOOK NOTHING WITH US THAT WAS MADE OF CLOTH. We got new clothes, new blankets, new furniture, new everything...... One last treatment. And they finally left. Haven't had them since. But if you have them and they keep coming back, your furniture and carpets are the problem.
@@paulcarlin5181well, obviously they pour blood on all their clothes once a day to feed the lice. They want the lice gone but not starve them, they're not monsters.
Unfortunately my family’s really poor and we live in a shitty apartment with carpet that’s really old , we don’t plan on moving so I feel hopeless , I’ve had lice ( at least I’m pretty sure I still do , I don’t check anymore ) since I was a kid I’m 19 now I don’t know what to do it’s embarrassing and annoying
I remember when I was 7, I put my hoodie on backwards because lol little kids are weird, and I look down into my hood, right in front of my face, and see all these tiny little bitty bugs.
I have incredibly thick hair which is also curly. I got lice when I was 11. They stayed for a YEAR. no matter how much treatment or combing, they always came back. My mom eventually pulled an all nighter coming every single one of my strands. I’ve never gotten them again since.
I remember I had lice once, only for two days. The moment I found one, I dunked my head in a vinegar solution, got ultra lice shampoo, combed with a lice brush for two hours, took two more showers, and slept in a cosco drenched shower cap for ten hours. Overkill is better than underkill, and by that morning everything was dead.
I've suffered with lice for years as a kid. Tried everything: medical shampoos, lice combs, blood poisoning pills, vinegar. Once I used s medical shampoo but it gave me allergy. My whole face started to swell and burn and I ran to the hospital to take anti-allergy meds... Luckily, I got rid of them after that incident lmao.
@@flowrepins6663not at all I got bald twice and I still have them today I was thinking about getting bald again because of them I feel like I should kill myself to get rid of them 😭
Tip: If you have lice, shower your hair with vinegar or tea tree oil, it causes them to become slippery and they come out easier. I had lice for years from a headphone set in the computer lab at my old elementary school. I finally got rid of them by using a hair straightener, it causes them to essentially pop as they're burned to death.
No way, that isn't worked. I have to scratch my hair toomuch cause I felt itchy, the more I scratch the more I get itchy. I used my shampoo 3-4 times a day and it's still itching. My classmate called my is "the forking dirty head" If you get itchy. You need to meet a barber and let them cut your hair. You only felt itchy when your hair is densely. I have to used A soap instead of using Dandruff or Lice Shampoo. Cause this can't rid of the Nits stick in your hair. Water makes up over 80% of the shampoo. Otherwise, A Soap only hold 20-35% water.
When I was 8 years old, there was a lice infestation at our elementary school. Eventually, I got them too. My mother tried a couple of treatments, including shampoos. They didn't work. One day she had enough of watching me suffer, so she just shaved my head bald. The way I looked afterwards was incredibly funny to me. There's still pictures left from back then.

One time I had lice but I was too embarrassed to tell my parents, so I just slathered my whole scalp with thick hair curling cream and any time I felt any sort of itchiness I flipped on even more and then the next day I washed my hair and I was completely lice free. I still can’t believe it actually worked.
What my mom did was put some rubbing alcohol in my hair to make the lice “dizzy “ (her words) use a lice combs and just comb for and 1 hour and when they were on the comb she wiped them on a paper towel and (sorry but this is a bit gross) crush them with the top of her finger nail but I promise you she was very hygienic she hated them so much that she did all this which I really appreciated thx mom
Ain't that hard to kill lice. 1.Apply some Listerine(mouth wash) on your hair and lay it on for half an hour(btw dont add way too much, but just spread it every part of your hair) 2.After that,go wash your hair 3.Use your sogot (lice hair comb remover thing)and take out all that lice. You're welcome.
I had got lice from someone in January this year. I didn't know it, until my head began itching more and more, until it was almost unbearable. Finally my husband decided to check my hair and he found these parasites. A few days later his head strated to itch too. It took more than a month to get rid of them. I was almost ready to shave my long hair, because it took us hours which were painful to comb lice out after using special shampoos.

i got lice a lot in 5-6th grade and after then i thought they were PERMANENTLY gone and, here i am, literally years later with them again because my sister also in 6th grade got them from her friend and then didnt tell anyone for a few weeks and they got literally everywhere and basically everyone in my household has had them at this point. i am in agony. the last ever time i had them, i was way too scared to tell my mom so what i did was drown my hair in water for like half an hour and then just pull them all out on my own and it somehow worked, eventually they were just all gone and didnt come back... until now apparently. my mom is gonna buy me treatment later today but for now i hate everything
My little half-sister goes over to her mother's house all the time, and she plays with her cousins and brings their lice with her to our house. I actually can't stand how much I get lice, just because my little-sister's mother and her cousin's mother can't just treat their own children.
I remember having lice in elementary school, what worked in the end was a jumbo bottle of cheap conditioner and using a lice comb every day for two weeks on wet hair with a generous amount of conditioner slathered on it. The conditioner made it to slippery for the adults to hang on and the 2 weeks got rid of the adults before they got a chance to lay eggs. Nothing else got rid of them.
Make a hair mask with basil leaves, some peppermint leaves chickpea flour or oats flour, curd and coconut oil. Apply on hair and keep for one hour max. Wash it all off into a bucket, you will definitely see dead lice. After bath, apply a little bit of Vicks vapour rub on the centre of your head (soft spot). Prevents you from getting a cold.
If you have lice and you are reading this try these steps: 1:mix ants powder and coconut oil together (don't use too much) 2: leave in for 10-20mins 3:wash out 4: enjoy and head free of lice and eggs Trust me it works it was just an experiment, but it worked. Byeeeee hope I helped 😊😊😊 try it and tell me how it works Oh and tell this to other people to help them out too We need the internet to know this!!! (Since no one knows it yet) And good news you only have to do the steps one time and as soon as you wash your hair out they will be gone
I had lice for like 8 years and i taught my self how to pick them one by one on my hair just by feeling. I became an expert at it that the lice decreased in my hair. They were gone finally after I dyed my hair..
This is a story when I have lice: So I was in China and I did not wash my hair for 10 days And how I figured out I had lice when I went to hair shop thing My head was inching and the person who washed my hair checked every where but they can not find stupid lice but when I went to my aunties house that’s where I got my lice form she checked the bottom of my hair and she saw multiples eggs and some adults as well on my stupid hair. Few days later... my grandmother had a poison powder that kills lice so I had use that and I hope I never get lice again... pls Oh hope u enjoy my story yeet
lice dont hang out at the bottom of your hair but at the top of the head/hair near the scalp. Plus not washing your hair for 10 days does not cause one to get lice.
I remember like 6 or 7 years ago I got a ad in the mail for free lice removal so i went (by that time i had lice for like 7 months) and they used poisons and hot combs and they used lots of heat so i sometimes felt like my scalp was going to burned or something. After that day i have not had lice for the like the past 7 years and it was a relief.
"I had lice before...............and please trust me............" IT WASN"T FUN! sorry if this makes you gross but I figured out by a friend gave it to me and there were crawling all over my hairbursh I was crying and it freaked me out and mom said to put tea tree oil in for now and then she ran to the store and bought some lice conditoner but the next day there were STILL A TON OF EGGS so my mom siad this that it was the last straw! so she went to my entire head and got by sections each and every LIce and egg out because she new they were all dead even the eggs so she wasn't scared to touch them! HI everyone ,I just want to share my experience about lice.I was in 8th grade and I've been bullied because of lice no one would even come close to me because they fear that they might have lice too.I tried alot of research and I just want to share the most effective way to remove lice (in my opinion). The answer is vinegar, wash your hair with vinegar and leave them for about an hour the longer the better. After that, use a comb and you can see lice and eggs are falling.Repeat this step for about 3 days and now Im still sad because even though I don't have lice people still think I do,I guess it's not me who needs to change it's them.
Just wash your hair and scalp with shampoo and the hottest water you can stand then dry your hair and scalp with a hot hair dryer. Throw away your old bedding and get new bedding. Keep washing your hair and scalp with hot water and hair dryer until they are gone.
Lice are actually more common to hatch when you put vinegar, and studies show it only kills about 2% of them. Image you have 100 bugs, 2 percent of that would make you hvae 98 bugs left that are alive.
There was this one treatment we tried when I had lice in 4th grade, it was some creme stuff that I had to keep in my hair for 8 hours. My mom didn’t realize that until after she put it on my head so we did it at like 8 pm and I ended up having to stay up until 4am to let the treatment soak in. That wasn’t the worst part though. It smelled like vanilla, like the worst, most overpowering sickly sweet vanilla smelling candle you can think of. I didn’t really like the scent of vanilla before doing it, but boy howdy after smelling it for 8 hours while having to stay up all night I was sick of it. Every single time I smell vanilla now it’s all I can think of. O-O
Very true I used that once in high school cause I was to afraid to tell anyone I had lice. Since now having my own kids I've learned mayo works great also.
One day, a kid at my dorm had been discovered to have lice. The Warden gathered all the students at night, check their hair. For those that had short hair, it was quick and passed. Everyone's head was checked, if they had a single lice or egg. Their hair would be sprayed with bug spray. Some cut their hair. The mattresses were laid to get sunlight. After a few weeks, it was clear.
imagine having every STD known to man including parasites like crabs and herpes while also having measles ebola and covid. Glad that's not me. Must suck
What my mom uses is, tea tree oil and mix it with conditioner, then put it on our hair with either a bag or plastic cap around our head and leave it on for about an hour to kill the lice. It’s works btw. When u take a shower sometimes you could feel the lice fell or when u get out of the shower a dead lice is somewhere on your body. Js lol. Then my mom also comb our hair to get rid of lice. She does that for like a month or two until our hair is better and no more lice. (Doesn’t mean it’s completely gone but we check once every two month) 👍
I cut my hair each time I get lice then go through a very long 10 hour process of washing, combing, electrifying, and chopping off my hair to make sure I get all of the lice and eggs and nymphs off of my head. And thanks to this video I’m probably gonna scratch like hell for the next few hours. Great and informal video, keep up the good work
Just wash your hair and scalp with shampoo and the hottest water you can stand then dry your hair and scalp with a hot hair dryer. Throw away your old bedding and get new bedding. Keep washing your hair and scalp with hot water and hair dryer until they are gone.
Kitten Mimi i imagine the water being hot enough to where it kinda burns you but not too much, you can get used to it. I’m sure if it burns YOU then the lice won’t stand a chance against it. They’re like 1cm long they have to burn.. if they don’t then i’m moving to a different planet
I've had live before and The worst thing was the failed treatment. It gave me a rash all down my neck and back and it didn't even work. We ended up just straightening our hair a lit for a couple weeks to fry the lice and picked through it with a lice comb. We only needed to get a lot of real lice the first time. The next 2 or 3 times we were only getting eggs. After all the eggs were gone, we stopped that method and started putting tea tree oil products in our hair. We haven't had lice sense
I live in Greece and here they sell a product in the pharmacy that you apply on the hair and it closes the pores of lice they breath through. You leave it on for 8 hours and the lice have suffocated. It's very effective and not toxic. I know this product is available all around Europe and can not imagine it's unknown in other places.

Yes for almost 20 years, my greatest insecurity is my head lice because im afraid my friends are judging me behind my back for having so many of it. I tried many method (except shaving bcos im not brave enough to do that) just to get rid of it but no use. :( One day i woke up accepting the fact that i will have to live for the rest of my life with lice in my hair. I suddenly didnt care about what others will say bcos at least i know in myself ive tried so hard to remove them. I go to the salon which i rarely do bcos im shy people will see my head lice and finally got a hot oil treatment (my hair got so much dry for using anti head lice shampoos and other chemicals) and a trim. Since then, im head lice free!!!! Its been a month and im so enjoying head lice free life. I feel so much more confident. some traditional treatment say coconut oil can loosen the glue of the eggs so it less sticky to your hair and will fall off when you take shower. it takes long time, but it is better than cutting your hair off.

What to do against the smell? It literally burns my throat
Thank you mate
I had the same experience:( they bullied me a lot cuz of it i was only 13 it still traumatize me
Lice are actually more common to hatch when you put vinegar, and studies show it only kills about 2% of them.

what's it called? Perdón no hablo ingles

I used to have lice every year from 3rd grade to 6th grade.
I'm so glad it's over.
Idk but back in the early 2010s it's really common to find young girls with lice in their heads. But nowadays it's really rare to even meet someone that had lice problems.

@@nashpoti2191 I had hairs upto my hip and I cut them super short, upto my ears. So I started applying lice killing products (in my country there's a product called Medicare) and frequency brushing my hairs with a lice comb, as for the eggs, I would pull and kill them if I could otherwise my mom helped with them

I recently got rid of my head lice. I'm 20 years old. Thank God just when I gave up on treating it, hot oil treatment miraculously got rid of it.
For those people who are experiencing major head lice infestation, try doing a hair treatment amd don't lose hope!
Thanku for sharing your true experience 🐱 without any hesitation
I had a lice problem a while ago and it was really annoying. Putting oil in your hair and keeping it in there is an easy way to suffocate them, then wash it out with Tea tree oil shampoo because they hate tea tree oil for whatever reason. That's how I got rid of mine
this brings back a pretty funny memory i have, haha. a few years ago, i was bald due to a medication. i went to a friends birthday party and everyone left with lice, excluding me because i was bald. that’s one time i thanked my bald head!
