The song and scene tell you so much about Zaun and about the kids as well. How each of them react and behave differently as they walk through Zaun is such a subtle, yet brilliant way of establishing character personalities.
Honestly as a lore nerd I loved the amount of shit in this series that was left for those who adore Runeterra. Freljordian helmets and arms, Krugs probably from Kumungu, Bilgewater gunpowder arms, and even in this scene you get to see two Ionains (possibly vastaya or the same species as the keeper of masks in LoR) strolling by. Sometimes it feels nuts to realise Zaun and Piltover takes place in the exact same world as Ionia, Targon and the other continents.
Like the fact that they all keep powder in the middle to shield her from the rest of Zaun as best they can with Milo drifting off every once and a while showing how he doesn’t care about her as much as Claggor and Vi do
Yes, VI’s changes in expression, how the animation is able to capture the micro details. In the elevator her expression shows how she really feels entering zaun. As she exits she has to put on a tougher front. But you can still see what’s underneath if you look close enough. This series is too good ❤️
I love how each of the kids have their own personality while walking in this scene Vi and Claggor almost with their head down, trying to keep a low profile, Vi feels More confident tho as she is the leader Powder not fully understanding her home, also she keeps even a lower profile knowing that she messed up. Mylo just doesn't care, even stealing some fruit, he truly believes that it's his home, his playground. Also I noticed how everyone has Powder walking kinda in the Middle, Vi and Claggor trying to protect her, Mylo being the one that is kinda "separated" from the group. Amazing how this show can tell us so Many things from them, Yet none of them spoke a single word in this scene.
Powder is quite anxious though, still being a very young child and all. Her eyes always quite shifty, not able to focus on one thing and in shock. Her body also quite reactive to the environment. Look at how she watched the rest of them jump from roof to roof.
I feel like Vi was a bit ashamed because of the look on her face and her putting on her hoodie. She also keeps her head down. Correct me if I’m wrong but Vi sometimes seem ashamed of being a Zaunite, part of the reason she wants better for Powder possibly

Well, I’ll tell you what… the first sentence of lyrics (“Who told you what was down here?”) slowly descending to the root note G definitely fits with the kids descending the elevator into the underworld. I like it!
If they ever go to other regions/countries/continents of Runeterra, I would really love a similar introduction with a "Playground" like song for Bilgewater, since this land is equally as sketchy and dangerous as Zaun.
