Is The 2024 Nissan Frontier a Better Pickup Than Honda Ridgeline?

- This is my second pickup truck I did a test drive in and review and don’t know what is better the Honda Ridgeline or the Nissan Frontier.

I bought a 2024 Frontier Pro4x. The same exact color blue and trim with the bead lock style rims as well. Loaded. I absolutely love it.
Team Nissan man I’m going to upgrade from a rogue to pathfinder in October
I’d lean towards the Frontier., sure looks nice. Back seat leg room is cramp, I’d pull the back seat out and use the space for storage.
I wish Nissan would make the PRO4X with a 6 foot bed. people got to work out of it.
I bought the king cab 4wd SV with a 6 foot bed for all my tools. That backseat is useless anyway
If you’re looking for a work truck you would probably be better suited buying a full size truck, maybe even a 3/4 ton model.
I think the cab is shorter then most silverados ?
Depends on how you intend to use it. The Ridgeline is actually much more practical, has more room, easier bed access, especially with the ability to swing the tailgate open to be able to reach deeper into the bed, and of course my favorite feature, the bed floor opens up to a hidden lockable storage/cooler in the floor for uhhhh beverages. However. If you are going to be doing more off pavement hauling , the frontier is going to be better. The suspension is rugged, and it has 4wd low range with an available rear locker, amd tons more suspension travel. So it really depends on your needs. If you're going to be mostly on pavement and no serious offroad situations the ridgeline will be more practical. It rides better and has more room.
I've had a Ridgeline 5 years. It is more functional as a truck than any midsized out there. The rear slide window allows 12' 2x12s to pass through, plywood lays flat in the bed, It hauled a yard of crushed granite. I've driven the 2024 Nissan and really like it but the bed is smaller the cab is smaller and absolutely no room in the rear seat, no rear AC. The Frontier is however much better looking. It drove really nice also.
Love to hear stuff like this 💪🏼
But what if the Frontier was a crew cab with the 6' bed?
@@sharkskin3448 I have a frontier w/ 6 foot bed. Rear leg room is awful.
I saw on another channel today that these were selling for $33,000. Compared to a Ford Maverick, should be more capable.
Questions?
How many recalls 2023 frontier have ?
I have had NONE! Late 2023 - purchased in Jan 24. No transmission recall, No tire recall. Nothing. Push the button and it runs. No squeaks, No rattles, Everything works. Sounds awesome, Zippy but not fast. Plenty of power. Shifts perfectly. Always in the right gear. It's a gem.
The new frontier had 1 recall in 2022 which was for park pin on tranny, easy fix and no recalls since.
It looks like the back is shorter than other pickup trucks ?
Looks that way but its actually the same as a Tacoma. 5 ft.
I have a 22 SV 4x4 w/ long bed and I can’t wait to trade this thing.
Curious - what problems or dislikes?
@@justincase9638 MPG sucks, I’m only getting like 17-18 city. Turns like a ship. The tech was about 5 years too old the day it came out. I love how it looks, but just taking my kids to school and picking them up in the afternoon costs me like $6 a day.
@@user-JBT Not just the mpg. I traded a Maverick for the frontier. Maverick drove better, looked better, got better mpg and held resale waaaaay better. Also somehow the backseat legroom of the Maverick was somehow bigger despite being a smaller vehicle. I should’ve kept it.
@@onefastr6 Oh I get it - I hope you find a vehicle that works better for your needs. I don't drive many miles so the poor mileage is not really an expense for me. I'm also nostalgic for the old school truck feel. I'm glad there are a lot of mid size options out there now... something for everyone!
@@justincase9638 Yea perhaps i didn’t actually want a “truck” when i got it. Have a good day and thank you.
For a daily driver, I’d take the Honda. Better ride, bigger payload, more room, clever features, and better gas mileage.
Great bang for the buck with the Frontier though. Certainly more than a Tacoma.
Sorry, the Honda Ridgeline is nice but it’s not a pickup. If you are considering a Honda then you really don’t need a pickup and should reevaluate your choices and needs.
The Ridgeline will meet most peoples needs. The majority of truck owners never tow, and if they do, it is no where near the rated max capacity. The payload is good on the Ridgeline and 5000 pounds of towing is good
says the dude who joined the wrong branch lol
@@16BitOG🤣
I’m getting 19mpg around town and 24 1/2 on the highway.
That’s awesome Eddie is the Beaver Home ? Lmao 🤣
Me too - 400 Mile trip 24.5MPG on more than one trip
I can save you 12min. Yes the Nissan is better
Meh. I'd take the honda over this. And in fact, I did. Test rode Frontier, Tacoma, Canyon, Ranger, and Ridgeline. Last week when the transmission on my silverado had a catastrophic failure, I pulled the trigger on the Honda. It was in my opinion the best in the class.
Super informative comment Honda is a great choice and my second fav brand.
That's not a truck bro 🤣
@@user-ox8ix6lf4rdo you know the definition of truck? Probably not
Honda is not a real truck. It’s got unibody frame
So you went with the minivan. Good choice.😅😅😅
OMG ..easy.. look under the honda and ...ridgline ots not a truck yes nissan is better!
Fun fact is Ridgeline have higher payload than most midsize without need of a frame
That’s neither fun nor fact.
