      Hey, my first house was a box-ey nightmare, but it gets easier! I love to casually watch videos like this whenever or while I play and you pick up all sorts of tricks. And if you're a hands on learner - I sometimes watch tutorials for a build technique and then go to the property in the gallery and place it so I can take that piece apart and mess with it in the correct context

    You guys can also hold down ALT to customize the roof height and curve. So your roof will always line up, no matter what size each piece of roof is. Just in case no one knew about that, and the shift button.
    If you don't want the little wall under your roof windows or just prefer to have it see through on both sides, make the glass roof wall's a 1x1 square. And use the SHIFT button to slide the roof edges. Not the wall. If you want a good example of this check out Kate's other video for angled window facades!

The info was laid out so so so well and really helped me follow along at a perfect pace without having to pause/replay or having to sit through any rambling that made it difficult to focus, and I have difficulty parsing info like this sometimes. Loved this! However I’ve found that although the weather does not enter it is still being classed as outside and causing issues with the lights. Do have a solution to this?

      DIAvs89 Weirdly enough it ended up working and I had light in the attic, but when I finally moved a sim in there, the first floor lights weren’t turning on at all... I really have no idea how to fix this, it’s such a shame :(

      How did you do it? I have the same problem!

    • @moonlitxangel5771
      @moonlitxangel5771 4 года назад

      That's the frustrating part about it. You *cannot* remove the roof walls (as far as I'm aware) so you have to just deal with having the room end there. The other bad part about this is that whatever you decide the roof wall color to be that'll be what the wall color of your room has to be due to the way roofs function.

    The tallest wall height will be easier with the Island Living update because they’re increasing the length of the eaves that you can pull out. But you can still do it that way if you prefer the split look

    Wow your tutorials have been amazing! Very well explained and easy to follow! As a PS4 user I don't have access to the Gallery to download all the really nice houses players have made so I'm forced to make them myself which takes so much time and know-how. You really help me know what's possible to do in build mode! Thank you so much and please keep up the wonderful work!

    For that largest wall height, where the window has the line of trim along the middle, I definitely want to do some experimenting to see if I can fix that.
    This is a very clever tutorial.
