You all prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know a way to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
this is really helpful because usually my houses would be flat, the only terrain I used would be to make little hills for plants, or for colouring the ground. i'm definitely gonna try building a house on a hill.
You make really good tuturials. This is why you grow so fast and everyone loved you kate. I could take many lessons from your presentation. Of course your creativity is beyond compare too. Hugs hop your well.
After watching one of your videos, I get so inspired, I want to jump right into game and start building and trying to put my ideas into my sim's world.
I love how the random example House you built is better than the houses I spend days on 😂. This video is incredibly helpful and well done! Thank you!!!
Thank you! This video changed my life. I'm old and didn't know how YT worked for a while 😕 but wanted to make sure to come back and leave a like and comment so others can enjoy this wonderful inspiration! Much love!
I clicked 'G' so many times throughout this video. Personly I'm not a fan of the yellow grid with terrain tools but I will say it's helpful in a video to show ratio and whats flat clearly.
When I realised the house I was trying to build had a ground floor ‘basement’ rather than just two stories, I did not think I would be able to properly recreate it. But thanks to your tutorial, it is coming along nicely. Just the hours of procrastination over what furnishings and decor to use to go but the structure is in place and it’s awesome!
Have just discovered your builds and I rarely comment on people's pages (as I'm sure you all get so many comments and understandably will miss them all!) But you are without doubt the best builder I've come across in my years and years of playing - impeccable builds, with creativity and always originality and something unique and surprising. Are you an architect because if not I am SHOOK. I don't always download your lots furnished as we have different styles but that isn't an insult at all, I don't care about furnishings :) thank you for the time and effort you spend on these.
I don’t understand how you don’t have ore likes and subscribers. Your way better builder than any other simmer I’ve seen on RUclips. Your builds are amazing I wish I had your patience to build the way you do
This was perfect for me because I had literally no idea how any of these tools worked and within the first 8 minutes of the video you had addressed every mistake I had made in trying to learn on my own.
I truly truly love your help when it comes to the game i would be lost if it werent for you and im getting so much better with my building cause i also love to build thanks Kate!!
Another way to get thatunderground part, and still have more room on the lower level, is to build a basement, then use the dig tool to go lower into the ground. Doing this, you also don't get the weird gap between the house and the ground :-)
This is awesome and so easy! Every time I see builds like this I am so amazed with the terrain work. I never realized how easy it actually is!! Thank you!!
Kate you're the best! I was just thinking this morning about doing a big house with some terrain tool use and here you go posting a terrain tool video haha So thank you for that! I need to work on my patience with this, that's a lot of my problem. That and I always end up over fixing things. Great tutorial, I feel more prepared now to make what I'm thinking about work haha
Thank you so much for your comment, lovely! :) Glad you found it helpful! Patience is definitely key, slowly shaping everything until it comes together! :) Hope you have a fantastic day and as always I can't wait what you will build!
I found this when I was looking for videos on waterfalls in Sims 4; i don’t know if that’s in this video, but I’ve already learned so much I don’t care! I have subscribed and will watch a lot more. I love the sims and have for ages, but I am a terrible planner, and terrain / landscaping takes planning. I wish I could capture video of how confused I get by simple things like roofs. :) it’s entertaining but frustrating. Anyway, thanks for this. I only have one sims 4 bundle for Xbox (I forget which ones, but no Island Living, so I can’t access their waterfall stuff), and I clearly need to learn just the basics of non-interior design. :)
Thank you!! I have been dying to use terrain tools, but never knew how to. This video was so helpful. You are very good at explaining things. Now, I'm off to build my first terrain house!
Omg your houses.are.so.AMAZING😍😍😭 Edit: And this is a very good tutorial, I haven’t even watched the whole thing yet and u are the best at tutorials!!!
Hello Kate, I am a New subscriber 😉 I am from the netherlands. I speak Just a little German so I Will stick to English! 😃 I have seen several of your vids and I LOVE THEM,!! You re so creative and you see much possibilities in one object. Love that. I love to build in the sims and your builds give me so much insipiration and ideas.... can't wait to start building and to see more of your vids.
I usually simply build pools and then I add rocks at the sides to hide the edges. Which house are you exactly talking about? Maybe I can give a little more details then! :)
@@KateEmerald THe one that caught my eye was at 33 seconds into your video. It looks like a pond, and is SO beautiful!!!! I'd love to make something like that. I am forever grateful for this great video! I was really fumbling around with the terrain tools!
@@GrannyGooseOnRUclips I used a pool for it and used the terrain tools to place one pool slightly lower in the ground so there is a little step between the two ponds! :) You can see in this video how it was built: ruclips.net/video/uVMnIq6qsCc/видео.html&t Thank you so much! :)
Oh my God Yes!!! Thanks for doing this tutorial. It is very much needed! I will try some of the tricks you mentioned on my game. What are the white lines for on these terrains? I have a lot of trouble adding stairs many times between two heights not sure what I'm doing wrong. Again thank you so much! Always helpful videos
Thank you so much! :) Which white lines do you mean, the grid by any chance? If so it's just like the grid we have in build mode, it's to help giving a little overview and helps with orientation while building! :) If you have trouble adding stairs try making the top a little lower so it's not too steep. Rarely this causes problems! Let me know if you need any addition help! :) Have a gret weekend!
@@KateEmerald thank you for your reply, Kate. I was referring to the white lines around the hill, they almost look like height measurements. Do they mean anything? Also i tried the tips yesterday and it worked so well!!!! I'm so happy. Thank you
Thank you for the tutorial. :) After watching several of your videos I wanted to try and play with the terrain but couldn't get it to work right. Every time I used Flatten Terrain it flattened to starting level because I didn't know how to use it...so I was using flatten to level and I find it hard to get it to the height I want with that. I decided to google a tutorial to get some help. Hopefully it'll go a little smoother now.
I was so happy to find this tutorial!! But Sims never makes it easy... I can’t place a foundation near the front wall on the elevated side. Giving an error that says “can’t connect blocks from different levels!?” Mine looks similar to yours but it’s not working up to this point. Thank you for the tutorial!!
Once again, you've amazed me. I wonder if you have figured out a way to build into the hill so if I wanted to make a hobbit hole into the side of raised terrain I could do that? I created a hobbit hole before terrain tools and it's rudimentary and not very good. I'd really like to make the terrain surround the building tightly so nothing but a small area in front large enough for a door and maybe a window or two would be visible on the outside.
This doesn't really work unfortunately. You'd have to work with lots of plants and rocks to hide the edges and all that :) I wish we could build inside a hill though! :)
I throughly enjoyed this instructional!! I am now wondering if there is a way to put water in the valleys that are made by your hills in the end of the video? I think water is a great landscape feature and makes things look so polished. Help, Kate!!
Thank you for walking through these terrain tools! Your approach was engaging and I liked your background music 🎵🎧 Does anyone know if a structure can be moved on top of a raised portion of land… even if it was originally built on a lower level? Thank you ☺️
This will definitely help people. { especially me } I’m super bad at terrain tools! But this was very good and helpful video! 😊
