      Sounds like a fun experience! I was at the concert of this recording in Stockholm. It is indeed very entertaining to see Ray Chen perform!

    My goodness me, what a consummate professional Ray Chen is. Not only does he play the main piece with absolute confidence and skill he even reinvented Waltzing Matilda and made it far better than anything I’ve heard before. I would love ❤❤❤❤ the chance to see Ray live, I don’t think I ever will. He is so dazzling in every way. Less you Ray xxx Mags ❤❤❤❤

    Dear Mr. Korngold, Ray Chen!...just my thoughts about the legends of violin...itzhak perlman, David oistrak, Josef hassid and Nathan milstein mastered the art of sound. They don't play "clean," they play "clear." Today I learned to play "clear", by watching and listening to them all day long for 10 years. Just my humble advice, it has something to do with the shoulders...good luck and Godspeed!!!

      I don't remember that, I'm afraid. I recall Chen mentioning it in one of his livestreams during lock down.

      G-Model ultra light. $199, it's a glue on SR with adhesive that supposedly does not harm the varnish.
      It can be found at Giora Schmidt's website.

    Why did they clap between movements?

    • @jnjorda22
      @jnjorda22 4 месяца назад +2

      It already became the new tradition/practice as a sign of appreciation from the audience. Although it interrupts the flow of music, it naturally depends nowadays on the rules implemented by the theater/concert halls or the orchestra itself(?). It depends on the preferences of the people whether to clap or not in between movements

    Don’t care for the playing …..no comparison between this and Heifetz in every way

    • @cjames0723
      @cjames0723 9 дней назад

      Heifetz is overrated. He was only popular because there weren't many violinists in the same league during his time. He would be no more than a blip if he were born into today's calibre of players.

    The guy truly ruined Waltzing Matilda, a Jazz musicians would do the same.
