Why this channel is so underrated?
the camera man is straight ass.
He’s built all this just strait uploading.. no money in ads. For doing it organically he’s got a far reach.
This was about as honest review as I've seen on a knife. Testing on camera, no screen cuts. I already have one and its amazing. I have considered getting another for the other pocket. They are worth every single penny.
I love microtech own a ultratech and scarab but it is a review on there own brand so I'm sure they made sure it was a prime pick example.. not saying they wouldn't preform otherwise, just saying this is a microtech review from a microtech channel..
@@Deadtileyedie fair point. I agree they may hide some shortcomings if they came to light. But I do like the knife and I still carry it. Everyday. And it performs well. But you make all good points.
@@benjaminlong3007 nah your definitely right. I carry a ultratech 90 percent of the time and never heard anything but good things about this particular knife. Was just saying probably came out wrong.. I'm a big microtech fan!
there was literally a screen cut before they cut the paper after the test
I literally 100% thought the batoning would have broke the knife. Especially the trunicating cut. That's absolutely insanely impressive!! Great review man!
I love the LUDT and have 3 of them. They came incredible sharp out of the box and are great quality knives.

Expect nothing but the best from their knives and their RUclips videos are starting off pretty good huge fan have 3 microtechs and counting
Protip for staining treated lumber.(you said you bought the wood a week ago and already stained it). Dont stain pressure treated for at least a couple weeks(if not months depending your climate) after purchase. Drop water onto the lumber and if it beads up, its not ready to stain. If it sucks in the water, it is ready. This is why the stain on your lumber looks to be surface coated only....i would worry about how long your finish where installed will last. (maybe a year max...it will start popping and flaking off as soon as the treat inside the lumber starts to push it's way out). With that said, I just bought a LUDT. This is awesome.
That was an excellent review and test. I just got one of those in CTS XHP. I am really impressed by its edge geometry. It is thinner than any Spyderco I have at 0.009”-0.010” behind the cutting edge.

This dude is the real deal. He’s got all the knowledge and he’s smart. Also knows how to talk to a camera. I love the Microtech videos.. their OTFs and Folders are my favorite knifes on earth. Above the CR and super knives even.
For what I use a knife for it will never go dull ...... great video microtech!

These tests are impressive. I have seen some “heavy duty” knives batoned at a angle like you did, completely fail. Very nice.

I’ve been collecting from a lot of the major knife manufacturers and here lately have been wanting another knife. My Ultratech that I’ve had for 2.5 years has left such a good impression on me that I don’t really want to buy anything other than a Microtech. This LUDT is looking like it’s going to fit the bill.
This is the best torture testing I've seen, period. Less the Chipmunks effect, edit a voiceover for the 2x parts🗡️👍

First Microtech I ever owned... Jedi knight model when they first came out, so guess this was 2016-2017? Been hooked ever since!! Crazy for awhile I thought I wad the only guy that liked multiple knifes lol bought my first high end knife back in 1998 had 2 both got stolen, that's how nice they was you could tell they wasn't corner store knifes and was razor sharp...I learned after that to never leave expensive knifes laying around when you got contractors walking in and out your place..

Hopefully no one needs to warranty their knife in 12 years or so. I have a 2008 Ultratech, I called asking about paying them to replace the blade and broken main spring. They won't do it because it's too told. So apparently "lifetime" really means "until we change the geometry" or "until we decide it's too old". I distinctly buying a product with a lifetime warranty. I have other Microtechs that old and older that are still operating, so they're still within their lifetime. I've spent thousands on Microtech products and was about to spend more. However, I will NEVER purchase another one of their products again after the girl I talked to told said they can't help me.

I would be interested in seeing what that pivot pin looks like now. And of course if it was to break during your test you'd be without a knife. Has that ever happened during one of your tests?

About the only time I'd ever pick a Benchmade over a Microtech is with the AFOII 9051 vs the LUDT. Have beat the snot out of my 9051SBK for around 15 years now and its still the main knife I fly with (Mil flying).
I still want a Scarab 2 something crazy though! Probably my favorite knife period.
My kershaws all, just did the same thing with no lockout issue at all dry or not...? They cost between 50 to 160 ish dollars. And the speed assist works great for the past 12 years. Not hating just stating that not quite as expensive knives can do the same and I even did the nail test on them and my cerakote is still in great condition as well. Love my ultratech but my kershaws are still my go to knives for side openers. Looks like a good knife for sure though ❤ they always make a good quality knife that's for sure.

I think the udt was the first knife that Tony Marfinoe made. I really like the Udt series...the Ludt more.
What kind of steel is on this blade? I put one on lay away at bladehq, they are hard to get .

Make sure more vids. If your looking for some content look at the Thompson / Cold Steel videos. I bet there is one out of a 1000 worth recreating with a MT knife.
What type of watch are you wearing?
Still has the sand in there you say but what happened to where you washed and oiled it after being in the rocks and dirt

I bought that knife out in 2015 for $275 and I will never buy another Microtech again. Dull in a few weeks with basic use that my Benchmades stayed sharp for months doing. It also got a lot of slop in the blade after about 2 years.

Signed up for the first responder program and they told me a 6 month wait for an LUDT which is horrible to be honest and 6 weeks for a Socom Elite manual. I would think their would more priority for first responders?!?
Can you buy these online ? We don’t have any dealers in Australia.
Can that proprietary pivot pin be replaced with a Torx pivot pin? Do they sell the pivot pin tool to losen or tighten that pin. I kind of tired of their proprietary stuff. I man should be able to adjust the pin on his knife without having to send it back. I see they've fixed that issue on the SOCOM.

I absolutely love Microtech knives design and feel, and I have many of their knives. But I feel like there’s something up with this video. I have an LUDT with a snapped tip just from piercing a thin piece of aluminum?? And a Dirac also with a broken tip from penetrating a piece of wood. Not only that but they seem to dull a lot quicker than what is displayed here and on the HALO video. I do love my HALO though feels extremely solid although I haven’t put it through any kind of field use.
What was the metal used for the blades? Did microtech honor their lifetime warranty?

I've seen a lot of LUDT's with blade play. Has this changed over the years?
Mine developed some side to side and a smidge up/down just from firing it.
The lock clearly fails at 6:20, your hand is not on the button and you manage to close the knife
Yep, good eye, it failed but he covered it up and act like nothing is wrong....
Oh it's at like 6:18. At the other timestamp it's past the failure
it did fail but not from what you think the button was all the way down pressed down stuck from some sand until he moves the blade to pop the button back up and lock the blade thats why he said the button was sticky

Remove spring and you have manual gravity knife with button lock.

Seeing as they havent come out with one in 25 years, plus its intended purpose is made easier by auto opening, id say no.
Super easy to take the spring out though.
4 years late, but, you were hitting the knife and testing the lock whilst holding the knife in a gloveless hand and holding the hammer with a glove. Was this a fashion choice.
I’ll always pick up some side work and do it for free just because i love the brand and grew up with it and maybe tip me with a knife here and there👍

Lock fail 2 times after you buried it. Your fingers were not near the button and it folded. Should at least tap the dirt out first. Benchmade does a similar test with their autos, see afo2
Im extremely familiar with this knife.
He pushed the button and the blade then moves a bit to keep the lock disengaged. He then moves his finger and closes it.
Same way i close mine.
The real test is use it everyday for a few months cutting tape, cardboard, paper, and see what happens, the mighty Spyderco's all show bent tips...from LC200N-Maxamet....my MT/Borkas look as new as a newborn baby from the first day to the last...
my GF dropped my LUDT about 5 inches above our kitchen counter. the tip broke off.
I have got to stop watching your videos. We are on lock down because of the virus and you just caused me to order another microtech. Seriously I have been looking at that very one. Microtech is not responding to my email can you ballpark how long the turn around for warranty is during favorable times? Thanks for reply 👍

Ive heard the warranty service is pretty bad i still have two ultratechs, but because of what I have seen about the warranty i would never beat on them like i would my Leatherman usually i carry both and if something needs put in a position were it might break the leatherman takes the abuse because they have always fixed anything i have broke.
Impressive (!) BUT Maybe the best automatic knife in the world is nothing worth if it is not available to order from Germany, at the EU oder from a American Website. So long... I could watch some stuff for the NASA and it's still the same, cause I can not buy it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love your knives and have since a kid and use them for both my Companies as my EDC but and that’s a huge but lmao don’t quit your day jobs forsure lol all the videos have horrible Video editing and producing it’s kinda hard to watch. But love the knives! And you guys seem awesome!
