This was about as honest review as I've seen on a knife. Testing on camera, no screen cuts. I already have one and its amazing. I have considered getting another for the other pocket. They are worth every single penny.
I love microtech own a ultratech and scarab but it is a review on there own brand so I'm sure they made sure it was a prime pick example.. not saying they wouldn't preform otherwise, just saying this is a microtech review from a microtech channel..

Protip for staining treated lumber.(you said you bought the wood a week ago and already stained it). Dont stain pressure treated for at least a couple weeks(if not months depending your climate) after purchase. Drop water onto the lumber and if it beads up, its not ready to stain. If it sucks in the water, it is ready. This is why the stain on your lumber looks to be surface coated only....i would worry about how long your finish where installed will last. (maybe a year max...it will start popping and flaking off as soon as the treat inside the lumber starts to push it's way out). With that said, I just bought a LUDT. This is awesome.
This dude is the real deal. He’s got all the knowledge and he’s smart. Also knows how to talk to a camera. I love the Microtech videos.. their OTFs and Folders are my favorite knifes on earth. Above the CR and super knives even.

That was an excellent review and test. I just got one of those in CTS XHP. I am really impressed by its edge geometry. It is thinner than any Spyderco I have at 0.009”-0.010” behind the cutting edge.
I’ve been collecting from a lot of the major knife manufacturers and here lately have been wanting another knife. My Ultratech that I’ve had for 2.5 years has left such a good impression on me that I don’t really want to buy anything other than a Microtech. This LUDT is looking like it’s going to fit the bill.
I literally 100% thought the batoning would have broke the knife. Especially the trunicating cut. That's absolutely insanely impressive!! Great review man!

First Microtech I ever owned... Jedi knight model when they first came out, so guess this was 2016-2017? Been hooked ever since!! Crazy for awhile I thought I wad the only guy that liked multiple knifes lol bought my first high end knife back in 1998 had 2 both got stolen, that's how nice they was you could tell they wasn't corner store knifes and was razor sharp...I learned after that to never leave expensive knifes laying around when you got contractors walking in and out your place..
Excellent. Just ordered the black handle/ apocalyptic bronze from blade bar in Texas. Want it so bad paid 32.90 for next day air. Now the short wait game. Super stoked about a replacement for my Gerber auto 06

I would be interested in seeing what that pivot pin looks like now. And of course if it was to break during your test you'd be without a knife. Has that ever happened during one of your tests?
My kershaws all, just did the same thing with no lockout issue at all dry or not...? They cost between 50 to 160 ish dollars. And the speed assist works great for the past 12 years. Not hating just stating that not quite as expensive knives can do the same and I even did the nail test on them and my cerakote is still in great condition as well. Love my ultratech but my kershaws are still my go to knives for side openers. Looks like a good knife for sure though ❤ they always make a good quality knife that's for sure.
Can that proprietary pivot pin be replaced with a Torx pivot pin? Do they sell the pivot pin tool to losen or tighten that pin. I kind of tired of their proprietary stuff. I man should be able to adjust the pin on his knife without having to send it back. I see they've fixed that issue on the SOCOM.
About the only time I'd ever pick a Benchmade over a Microtech is with the AFOII 9051 vs the LUDT. Have beat the snot out of my 9051SBK for around 15 years now and its still the main knife I fly with (Mil flying). I still want a Scarab 2 something crazy though! Probably my favorite knife period.

Hopefully no one needs to warranty their knife in 12 years or so. I have a 2008 Ultratech, I called asking about paying them to replace the blade and broken main spring. They won't do it because it's too told. So apparently "lifetime" really means "until we change the geometry" or "until we decide it's too old". I distinctly buying a product with a lifetime warranty. I have other Microtechs that old and older that are still operating, so they're still within their lifetime. I've spent thousands on Microtech products and was about to spend more. However, I will NEVER purchase another one of their products again after the girl I talked to told said they can't help me.
Make sure more vids. If your looking for some content look at the Thompson / Cold Steel videos. I bet there is one out of a 1000 worth recreating with a MT knife.
Signed up for the first responder program and they told me a 6 month wait for an LUDT which is horrible to be honest and 6 weeks for a Socom Elite manual. I would think their would more priority for first responders?!?
Love my LUDTs. This makes me feel way better about the disability of it, though I've already put mine through a lot lol. Was kind of hoping you'd stab it into the board and carve through it, as in your Socom test.
I absolutely love Microtech knives design and feel, and I have many of their knives. But I feel like there’s something up with this video. I have an LUDT with a snapped tip just from piercing a thin piece of aluminum?? And a Dirac also with a broken tip from penetrating a piece of wood. Not only that but they seem to dull a lot quicker than what is displayed here and on the HALO video. I do love my HALO though feels extremely solid although I haven’t put it through any kind of field use.
it did fail but not from what you think the button was all the way down pressed down stuck from some sand until he moves the blade to pop the button back up and lock the blade thats why he said the button was sticky

Ive heard the warranty service is pretty bad i still have two ultratechs, but because of what I have seen about the warranty i would never beat on them like i would my Leatherman usually i carry both and if something needs put in a position were it might break the leatherman takes the abuse because they have always fixed anything i have broke.
The real test is use it everyday for a few months cutting tape, cardboard, paper, and see what happens, the mighty Spyderco's all show bent tips...from LC200N-Maxamet....my MT/Borkas look as new as a newborn baby from the first day to the last...
I bought that knife out in 2015 for $275 and I will never buy another Microtech again. Dull in a few weeks with basic use that my Benchmades stayed sharp for months doing. It also got a lot of slop in the blade after about 2 years. Benchmade for life.

These tests are impressive. I have seen some “heavy duty” knives batoned at a angle like you did, completely fail. Very nice.

Mine developed some side to side and a smidge up/down just from firing it.

Remove spring and you have manual gravity knife with button lock.
