@@DwyaneTech failure to notice a small trap on the floor (that can be easily hidden inside rubble/bushes/bodies/loot) shouldn't result in an instant kill. traps in this game literally function as an actual military grade landmine. if you step in one you are dead instantly.

But in all seriousness Ive killed people in very visible traps that are in the light because theyre too busy buffing and w key sending trying to get the jump on someone. The ruins grass and pebbles are op with traps but on other maps its really just take a torch out or lantern. Traps shouldnt be able to be placed inside of bodies/loot for sure tho

Traps are visible if you look at them directly and are close enough, I look down near doors and chokepoints and haven't had so many problems with traps. It just feels so bad when you get trapped since you feel so stupid, so people look at them so negatively.

I've been playing for around 100 hours, doing my thing, learning pve, dying to everyone in pvp. Booted up ranger, got 2 kills with squire traps first game, 3 kills the next game - only because i found a trap on the map. Continued to just abuse traps, pretty much died only when stepping on my own traps.

Honestly the traps should just suck in a player instantly from anywhere in the map instead of them having to physically walk over them, and if the trap timer runs out the player should die because maybe I don't wanna have to even pay attention to the traps but still want the kill and like I'm playing ranger so why should I even have to do any effort to get kills, I pressed like a button or two already, please give me free kills. That's pretty much how it feels to play ranger with traps if you have a small idea of what the hotspots are in the map.

Traps are overpowered + extremely frustrating to play against. They should either nerf the shit out of them, or rework them. And to compensate, they should buff other parts of the class(base stats, abilities, perks, etc) anyone who says traps are not strong or don't need a nerf, plays ranger 24/7
I think it'd make more sense for traps to reduce movespeed by 15-30% for 3-5s depending on the rarity just to give rangers more ground, not to give them a win.

They nerf landmine rogue to move the player base off the class because it’s “anti-fun” and overpowered. I agreed with both of those statements, and fully accepted that rogue balance needed to be fixed a year back. If balancing follows the same principle, that anti-fun mechanics need to be tuned down, the fact that this still exists in the game and is considered balanced blows my mind. It is essentially a landmine rogue but instead of having a fighting chance of surviving, you’re basically guaranteed dead if the ranger has more than 2 brain cells. Thank you for making this video.
6:25 definitely buffed! I recently stepped in one and barely survived, because the ranger was afk. I think once you are in the trap, there shouldnt be any way out till you die

Traps and incorporeal effects are some of the worst things in this game and should 100% be removed for long term game health. there are hundreds of areas where you can make traps invisible from the approaching players POV.
They could change traps to be a un-refillable skill (like smoke pots), that way 1. it requires the ranger to give up a skill, 2. has a low count (2-3 maybe), 3. can't be refilled with campfires etc. Also the blue trap is just ridiculous, traps should be like 5-7 seconds at most on players.
It should be a skill, idk why caltrops and smoke pots arent items but its probably for the best otherwise we would have rogues with a full inventory of smoke pots probably causing lag machines, hunting traps need to be changed asap, such a toxic item exclusive to a single class that basically gives them a free win
As a ranger main, I agree that this is probably the best way of handling traps outside of straight up removing them. That way I don't have to feel like I'm missing out by ignoring them and duelling barbs with spear and backstep instead
even if you look down half the time you dont see it. Its like the rogue landmine issue all over again. You either play the game cancerously like looking at the ground 24/7 for any traps or you die like the rogue landmine times when you had to wait by a door for a minute before knowing its safe and even then you sometimes got landmined
If they made traps disarm themselves after a period of time to prevent people just camping their minefield they’ve elaborately put together then I think this would help with this issue.

As a ranger main, I personally think traps are horrible for the health of the game. With that said, they are also currently the ONLY way to kill evenly geared fighters and barbs in certain maps. Between the instant direction shifts from A/D spam, shields, sprint and self heal for fighter, the fight isnt even close for ranger / fighter 1v1. I cant count how many times Ive hit a fighter like 5~6x before they are even near me and I still get 1~2 shot. The only solution within the context of the game, is to remove traps, but also nerf the classes that can just face tank a ton of damage. Or learn to live with the traps as a necessary evil to level the playing field against high PDR/High HP/shields/instant heals and invincibility abilities. Inb4 the gitgud comments, most maps dont have super long sight lines with no cover. So even if you manage to hit one of these guys a few times, in order to finish the fight you have to get close to them. because they can infinitely play around cover to full heal. As a ranger, you either have to hope they walk into your trap, or theres actually a good chance you don't win that fight at all, either because they leave, or you died closing the gap which gives them a chance to hit you once. Most of the time, it comes down to... you have to play the match up perfectly, hitting every shot and kiting perfectly or you just die within 1~2 hits.

To be fair as a ranger you should be play8ng the boring meta of just building movespped and perma kiting the fighter. Also using longbow in solos is kinda of a throw I am assuming you're playing on gc in which case you should use survivor bow with push back they're never touch you. From one ranger to another
@@sikeibutler7027 While you are mostly correct, kiting a fighter or barb requires you to actually have space to kite which isnt always possible. And even with that said, once they take cover from some damage you still have to be semi near them (on most maps) to try to secure the kill before they full heal which puts you at risk of dying. So you have to decide then as ranger, do you push that corner and hope that you can land a finishing blow before they hit you twice. And depending on their gear sometimes your damage simply isnt enough, I've died enough times to this. Your second choice is to try to leave. Unless they change the way that bows interact with PDR, traps will continue to be necessity against it. The only other alternative is a very expensive kit with a ton of true phys + surv bow. But an expensive kit shouldn't be a requirement to be able to play the game.
That's not the only solution. You arent creative enough. Magic arrows or magic bows would allow you to deal with PDR too. Native spear would help a bit, having throwables for even better mid range would help even more, abilities that grant armor pen would help a lot. There's probably a dozen ways ranger could be better against fighter. At least we agree that traps fucking blow
traps are insanely overpowered for being just a simple utility slot item that also stacks upto 2 per slot for some reason, while rogue has caltrops that are infinitely worse as a limited use ABILITY SLOT item
I play druid most of the time and still don't get pvp kills that often. I decided this season I'd try ranger again after over a year away from the class. My first game i got a kill and it only went up from there. Traps need a change, i believe making the damage one hit and the release a single button tap would massively help
I main ranger ever since playtests & even as a low skill player I don't normally use traps because I'll forget where I put them if I move around.. but when the royal coffers get low, trap rat is a play that works for now😂😂 love the videos man
Honestly, I love being a silly shitter with traps but like lord the fact that it limits targets to a set radius is RIDICULOUS man. Like seriously if it was even just a case of kinda applying "Achilles strike" to a target for a few seconds I imagine that alone would make it so much less annoying and absurd.
A few suggestions: Move traps onto an ability (like caltrops) so the ranger can only place 2 Make traps shimmer/glow Reduce trap timer to a max of 4 seconds REMOVE SKILL CHECKS ON DISARM A combination of a few of these nerfs will allow traps to stay in the game without ruining it

I dont even care if traps are good or not. Theyre annoying. Theyre a net negative for the game experience. Ranger is just playing a different game from most of the cast for as long as traps are in the game. Its like if you lose the minigame where you fail to pick out the dimly lit grey brown pixels from the dimly lit grey pixels or the dimly lit orange brown pixels or the dimly lit green brown pixels, you instantly get hit by achilles heel 3 times in a row, and the other guy didnt have to aim or out his weapon away. Its all the same reason i hate druid. Dont care if its strong. Its a net negative experience. Theyre playing an overwatch chatacter in valorant, and the counterplay is make a perfect timing predict and snipe a little mouse, or hit them with very specific spells. Honestly, if traps were just like, single placeable achilles heel, they might be fine. Idc if thats a nerf to ranger, but if its really a problem, let them throw shit or have spear natively or add magic arrows as compensation. Anyway, i havent played the game for like a month now. Been playing ranger since season 1 and I wouldn't mind a trap nerf/removal but Ranger would have to be significantly buffed in order to compensate. The problem with people who complain about traps is that they just complain about traps without discussing what would ranger get to compensate. Traps in themself are mostly used by newer/moderate skilled rangers. Top tier rangers either dont use traps or rarely use traps. The problem with their removal for even top tier rangers who don't use traps is that it takes the fear away of maybe there's a trap, which is an integral part of ranger kiting and spacing. I don't take traps in to most matches but i often bait/play as though I have a trap in an area just to make people afraid to walk forward. Without that fear, a ranger is just a naked fighter with no sprint.
Eh I mean I kinda agree with you but they are clearly working towards something. Giving fighter -10% physical damage bonus with a bow makes them a fairly shitty ranger now. Although a pdr sprint fighter with a heater is at a slight advantage now with the forceful shot changes, they won’t need a significant buff to ranger to make up for the loss of traps. Like you say, a skilled ranger doesn’t really need to utilize traps to be extremely effective, their skills are powerful and when used correctly they can have some of the fastest ttk in the game, especially against squishier classes.
I mean they could just do the sensible thing and have it so that traps snare you, but dont plant you in place. It serves its purpose for kiting/getting a damage lead but doesn't guarantee the kill. But then again, we're talking about I-want-faster-TTK SDF. I suppose nothing is faster than instant death, huh.

If they don’t remove them entirely (I’d be completely fine with them gone tbh) they could rework them to just be a damage tool. Could be a tiny bit of instant damage for you to follow up with ranged shots. I can definitely see them trying to add a move speed penalty after stepping in one, which could still be very annoying but at least you could attempt to move during it. 12 seconds is eternity in DaD, I can’t believe they’ve gone this long without a duration nerf, it’s absurd.
Idk why they ever fucking reverted the duration of the bear traps. Makes no sense. My favorite is how you can't even see them so much of the time even if you look down with a torch out, which is a wild way to be playing when you want to look at the players around you and be ready for them. Bonus: They nerf things like slow and keep druid mobile as possible.
Great question, the clear answer is buffed. JK, removing them however would just be unnecessary. A nerf could be okay, problem is ranger suffers seriously in several aspects, and would seriously need some changes somewhere in the kit. Either buffs to abilities or stats.. something. Or alternatively other classes need toned down.. bard/fighter are already almost better bow users than the ranger as is alongside so much other utility.

Just change it to a 20-30% movement slow and jingling sound effects that lasts for 10 seconds or until disarmed. As if the trap isn't anchored to the ground it just clamps onto your leg. Even that would be pretty damn strong compared to other CC in the game.
First great video. I think they should be left in game and not messed with until they find a way to buff ranger when using a bow. What's funny is I do this daily in solo gobs and it produces many pelts and good gear in HR. And as for people being upset at the traps. If you want them removed. Then we should remove anything that has a slowing down effect. Cause we all know if Achilles hits say hello the to lobby.
I like what another person said where they need to be reworked into more of an information gathering rather than guaranteed kill. Make em louder/global so the Ranger can hear them triggering, make it slow by 20% instead of 40%, no root, and only last 3 seconds. Then of course only allow 4 to be carried and only Ranger can pick them up

They should be replaced with something like a door specific trip wire. Much more predictable but can still catch those who w key off guard. I was in dood and a ranger shot at us from the wall in center ruins. We go to push at health shrine door and its trapped but then his naked duo barb jumps out of the bushes with reckless attack lmao. I get that it's a playstyle but when paired with grass terrain you cant simply 'look down'
If I wanted to play this game again, I was going to ditch my preference to magic/spellswords and just go full ranger. It's so good with just traps alone, the kits just add a slap in the face before you die.

Idk I play a lot of both HR and below grey and I dont hit traps that often. I primarily play fighter. And I rather enjoy the concept. It requires prior setup, you have to successfully lead someone through the trap. Its audio queue is unique and loud as all hell when setting up. The only change i would personally make is that you should be able to disable a trap by hitting it prior to it trapping you.

DaD subreddit is one of the few places you can always assume the popular opinion will be wrong. They love ranger traps, they love teaming, they think squire lobbies should be the only ones to exist, they think there should be a PVE only mode. They would probably remove all classes except for fighter if they could.
Lol back when ruins first came out, my buddy and i would main ranger and sit in the middle room with about 15+ traps scattered thru the module to try and prove how broken ranger was. I collected over 100k before the end of that wipe off just kills. We’d sit in the corner by health shrine and just wait for our traps to go off and grab the loot delivery!
I've occasionally been complaining about this since the start of EA. The only reason it "hasn't been a problem" thus far is because simply said the playerbase wasn't using the traps. Which is weird considering Soapy has many vids displaying the traps' powers.
I agree that traps are OP I also agree that rangers without traps are extremely underwhelming when two other classes can do their job but infinitely better, can't we all agree that's true? Remove/nerf traps and buff rangers stats/damage/or abilities to compensate and it's win win!
I think the problem with traps is that they're designed for a 3v3 format. Rangers with traps in 3s still don't necessarily contribute as much as a cleric, bard, or wizard, so it's not that unbalanced and can create interesting play scenarios based around group support and taking advantage of the locked down player. In solos and duos traps just do too much.
I main ranger and don’t even like them personally, I’d be fine for a overall buff to rangers and the removal of traps or rather than locking in place they get changed to a 50% ms nerf for 10 seconds plus the initial 15 true damage. Maybe buff that initial true damage and remove the damage you take when moving.
Finally a content creator with the balls to talk about this. It’s a problem, it’s always been a problem, Ranger Traps are one of the worst game mechanics I have ever seen implemented in a multiplayer game. I’m convinced that a statistically significant number of players uninstalled and never came back directly following a trap death. Also W music, Kids See Ghosts is straight ⛽️
With having a large voice in the community I would implore you to recommend something to give rangers if their traps are taken. They need class identity still. I think traps are cringe but they're the only thing ranger really has as fighter and bard are just better rangers discounting traps. Also it would be really cool to see you explore other things that are overpowered and unhealthy for the game alongside the traps like bards and barbarians and rondel fighters.

Rogue Caltrops - Can only have 3 for the entire dungeon, cant be replenished, a 2 second slow that also disappears from the ground after a set period of time

What i learned from this video is I'm not using enough traps
They nerf landmine rogue to move the player base off the class because it’s “anti-fun” and overpowered. I agreed with both of those statements, and fully accepted that rogue balance needed to be fixed a year back.
If balancing follows the same principle, that anti-fun mechanics need to be tuned down, the fact that this still exists in the game and is considered balanced blows my mind. It is essentially a landmine rogue but instead of having a fighting chance of surviving, you’re basically guaranteed dead if the ranger has more than 2 brain cells.

Traps and incorporeal effects are some of the worst things in this game and should 100% be removed for long term game health. there are hundreds of areas where you can make traps invisible from the approaching players POV.

They could change traps to be a un-refillable skill (like smoke pots), that way 1. it requires the ranger to give up a skill, 2. has a low count (2-3 maybe), 3. can't be refilled with campfires etc.
Also the blue trap is just ridiculous, traps should be like 5-7 seconds at most on players.
It should be a skill, idk why caltrops and smoke pots arent items but its probably for the best otherwise we would have rogues with a full inventory of smoke pots probably causing lag machines, hunting traps need to be changed asap, such a toxic item exclusive to a single class that basically gives them a free win
As a ranger main, I agree that this is probably the best way of handling traps outside of straight up removing them.
That way I don't have to feel like I'm missing out by ignoring them and duelling barbs with spear and backstep instead
5-7 seconds of hard cc in a game with 0.5s ttk is insanity
even if you look down half the time you dont see it. Its like the rogue landmine issue all over again. You either play the game cancerously like looking at the ground 24/7 for any traps or you die like the rogue landmine times when you had to wait by a door for a minute before knowing its safe and even then you sometimes got landmined
If they made traps disarm themselves after a period of time to prevent people just camping their minefield they’ve elaborately put together then I think this would help with this issue.
Rangers can bring 20 traps, rogues can’t even refresh cal traps… balanced IMO

One way to deal with traps when u are chasing someone is to pay attention to they pathing, if it looks weird probably they are going around a trap.
As a ranger main, I personally think traps are horrible for the health of the game. With that said, they are also currently the ONLY way to kill evenly geared fighters and barbs in certain maps. Between the instant direction shifts from A/D spam, shields, sprint and self heal for fighter, the fight isnt even close for ranger / fighter 1v1. I cant count how many times Ive hit a fighter like 5~6x before they are even near me and I still get 1~2 shot. The only solution within the context of the game, is to remove traps, but also nerf the classes that can just face tank a ton of damage. Or learn to live with the traps as a necessary evil to level the playing field against high PDR/High HP/shields/instant heals and invincibility abilities.
Inb4 the gitgud comments, most maps dont have super long sight lines with no cover. So even if you manage to hit one of these guys a few times, in order to finish the fight you have to get close to them. because they can infinitely play around cover to full heal. As a ranger, you either have to hope they walk into your trap, or theres actually a good chance you don't win that fight at all, either because they leave, or you died closing the gap which gives them a chance to hit you once.
Most of the time, it comes down to... you have to play the match up perfectly, hitting every shot and kiting perfectly or you just die within 1~2 hits.

to me it feels like every class has a major problem with pvp in most scenarios, the game just seems way too gear dependent and meanwhile at sub 25 bracket its literally all about movespeed lol
To be fair as a ranger you should be play8ng the boring meta of just building movespped and perma kiting the fighter. Also using longbow in solos is kinda of a throw I am assuming you're playing on gc in which case you should use survivor bow with push back they're never touch you. From one ranger to another
@@sikeibutler7027 While you are mostly correct, kiting a fighter or barb requires you to actually have space to kite which isnt always possible. And even with that said, once they take cover from some damage you still have to be semi near them (on most maps) to try to secure the kill before they full heal which puts you at risk of dying. So you have to decide then as ranger, do you push that corner and hope that you can land a finishing blow before they hit you twice. And depending on their gear sometimes your damage simply isnt enough, I've died enough times to this. Your second choice is to try to leave. Unless they change the way that bows interact with PDR, traps will continue to be necessity against it. The only other alternative is a very expensive kit with a ton of true phys + surv bow. But an expensive kit shouldn't be a requirement to be able to play the game.
That's not the only solution. You arent creative enough. Magic arrows or magic bows would allow you to deal with PDR too. Native spear would help a bit, having throwables for even better mid range would help even more, abilities that grant armor pen would help a lot. There's probably a dozen ways ranger could be better against fighter. At least we agree that traps fucking blow
traps are insanely overpowered for being just a simple utility slot item that also stacks upto 2 per slot for some reason, while rogue has caltrops that are infinitely worse as a limited use ABILITY SLOT item

I play druid most of the time and still don't get pvp kills that often.
I decided this season I'd try ranger again after over a year away from the class. My first game i got a kill and it only went up from there.
Traps need a change, i believe making the damage one hit and the release a single button tap would massively help

Honestly, I love being a silly shitter with traps but like lord the fact that it limits targets to a set radius is RIDICULOUS man.
Like seriously if it was even just a case of kinda applying "Achilles strike" to a target for a few seconds I imagine that alone would make it so much less annoying and absurd.
A few suggestions:
Move traps onto an ability (like caltrops) so the ranger can only place 2
Make traps shimmer/glow
Reduce trap timer to a max of 4 seconds
REMOVE SKILL CHECKS ON DISARM
A combination of a few of these nerfs will allow traps to stay in the game without ruining it
Skill checks only on blue traps
Make it a 3-5 sec slow, perfectly usable and not an instant death
so wont be a trap

I dont even care if traps are good or not. Theyre annoying. Theyre a net negative for the game experience. Ranger is just playing a different game from most of the cast for as long as traps are in the game.
Its like if you lose the minigame where you fail to pick out the dimly lit grey brown pixels from the dimly lit grey pixels or the dimly lit orange brown pixels or the dimly lit green brown pixels, you instantly get hit by achilles heel 3 times in a row, and the other guy didnt have to aim or out his weapon away.
Its all the same reason i hate druid. Dont care if its strong. Its a net negative experience. Theyre playing an overwatch chatacter in valorant, and the counterplay is make a perfect timing predict and snipe a little mouse, or hit them with very specific spells.
Honestly, if traps were just like, single placeable achilles heel, they might be fine. Idc if thats a nerf to ranger, but if its really a problem, let them throw shit or have spear natively or add magic arrows as compensation.

Tbh the only problem with ranger traps is the durration. Make it a 2-3 second slow, remove the leash, increase the and it is ballanced

Been playing ranger since season 1 and I wouldn't mind a trap nerf/removal but Ranger would have to be significantly buffed in order to compensate. The problem with people who complain about traps is that they just complain about traps without discussing what would ranger get to compensate. Traps in themself are mostly used by newer/moderate skilled rangers. Top tier rangers either dont use traps or rarely use traps. The problem with their removal for even top tier rangers who don't use traps is that it takes the fear away of maybe there's a trap, which is an integral part of ranger kiting and spacing. I don't take traps in to most matches but i often bait/play as though I have a trap in an area just to make people afraid to walk forward. Without that fear, a ranger is just a naked fighter with no sprint.
Eh I mean I kinda agree with you but they are clearly working towards something. Giving fighter -10% physical damage bonus with a bow makes them a fairly shitty ranger now. Although a pdr sprint fighter with a heater is at a slight advantage now with the forceful shot changes, they won’t need a significant buff to ranger to make up for the loss of traps. Like you say, a skilled ranger doesn’t really need to utilize traps to be extremely effective, their skills are powerful and when used correctly they can have some of the fastest ttk in the game, especially against squishier classes.
I mean they could just do the sensible thing and have it so that traps snare you, but dont plant you in place. It serves its purpose for kiting/getting a damage lead but doesn't guarantee the kill.
But then again, we're talking about I-want-faster-TTK SDF. I suppose nothing is faster than instant death, huh.

Yeah bro, in the game where druids teleport at you and oneshot, 5 fighters with 165 hp and 60% PDR, barbarians with 250 HP and warlocks with 330 MS killing whole lobby with 3 spells, ranger with 15 traps who sitting in single location whole game is defenetly biggest problem

If they don’t remove them entirely (I’d be completely fine with them gone tbh) they could rework them to just be a damage tool. Could be a tiny bit of instant damage for you to follow up with ranged shots. I can definitely see them trying to add a move speed penalty after stepping in one, which could still be very annoying but at least you could attempt to move during it. 12 seconds is eternity in DaD, I can’t believe they’ve gone this long without a duration nerf, it’s absurd.
Idk why they ever fucking reverted the duration of the bear traps. Makes no sense. My favorite is how you can't even see them so much of the time even if you look down with a torch out, which is a wild way to be playing when you want to look at the players around you and be ready for them. Bonus: They nerf things like slow and keep druid mobile as possible.

Great question, the clear answer is buffed. JK, removing them however would just be unnecessary. A nerf could be okay, problem is ranger suffers seriously in several aspects, and would seriously need some changes somewhere in the kit. Either buffs to abilities or stats.. something. Or alternatively other classes need toned down.. bard/fighter are already almost better bow users than the ranger as is alongside so much other utility.

Just change it to a 20-30% movement slow and jingling sound effects that lasts for 10 seconds or until disarmed. As if the trap isn't anchored to the ground it just clamps onto your leg. Even that would be pretty damn strong compared to other CC in the game.

First great video. I think they should be left in game and not messed with until they find a way to buff ranger when using a bow. What's funny is I do this daily in solo gobs and it produces many pelts and good gear in HR. And as for people being upset at the traps. If you want them removed. Then we should remove anything that has a slowing down effect. Cause we all know if Achilles hits say hello the to lobby.

I like what another person said where they need to be reworked into more of an information gathering rather than guaranteed kill. Make em louder/global so the Ranger can hear them triggering, make it slow by 20% instead of 40%, no root, and only last 3 seconds. Then of course only allow 4 to be carried and only Ranger can pick them up
If they were to keep them, they could do so where you can only bring 1, and it lasts 3 or less seconds
Or maybe that each one placed is very bright and can't be covered

I was in dood and a ranger shot at us from the wall in center ruins. We go to push at health shrine door and its trapped but then his naked duo barb jumps out of the bushes with reckless attack lmao. I get that it's a playstyle but when paired with grass terrain you cant simply 'look down'
If I wanted to play this game again, I was going to ditch my preference to magic/spellswords and just go full ranger. It's so good with just traps alone, the kits just add a slap in the face before you die.

Idk I play a lot of both HR and below grey and I dont hit traps that often. I primarily play fighter. And I rather enjoy the concept. It requires prior setup, you have to successfully lead someone through the trap. Its audio queue is unique and loud as all hell when setting up.
The only change i would personally make is that you should be able to disable a trap by hitting it prior to it trapping you.

DaD subreddit is one of the few places you can always assume the popular opinion will be wrong. They love ranger traps, they love teaming, they think squire lobbies should be the only ones to exist, they think there should be a PVE only mode. They would probably remove all classes except for fighter if they could.

Lol back when ruins first came out, my buddy and i would main ranger and sit in the middle room with about 15+ traps scattered thru the module to try and prove how broken ranger was. I collected over 100k before the end of that wipe off just kills. We’d sit in the corner by health shrine and just wait for our traps to go off and grab the loot delivery!

I've occasionally been complaining about this since the start of EA.
The only reason it "hasn't been a problem" thus far is because simply said the playerbase wasn't using the traps. Which is weird considering Soapy has many vids displaying the traps' powers.

I think the problem with traps is that they're designed for a 3v3 format. Rangers with traps in 3s still don't necessarily contribute as much as a cleric, bard, or wizard, so it's not that unbalanced and can create interesting play scenarios based around group support and taking advantage of the locked down player. In solos and duos traps just do too much.
I main ranger and don’t even like them personally, I’d be fine for a overall buff to rangers and the removal of traps or rather than locking in place they get changed to a 50% ms nerf for 10 seconds plus the initial 15 true damage. Maybe buff that initial true damage and remove the damage you take when moving.
Finally a content creator with the balls to talk about this. It’s a problem, it’s always been a problem, Ranger Traps are one of the worst game mechanics I have ever seen implemented in a multiplayer game. I’m convinced that a statistically significant number of players uninstalled and never came back directly following a trap death.

With having a large voice in the community I would implore you to recommend something to give rangers if their traps are taken. They need class identity still. I think traps are cringe but they're the only thing ranger really has as fighter and bard are just better rangers discounting traps.
Also it would be really cool to see you explore other things that are overpowered and unhealthy for the game alongside the traps like bards and barbarians and rondel fighters.
