    I am so glad much of the puppetry has survived over the years, but more than that, I'm glad that Simone and Polygon care enough about this to track down the people with firsthand knowledge of the game. Documentaries about the making of video games are becoming increasingly common, but there are so many titles from years past that we know little about, and investigative work like this ensures it isn't lost to time.

  • @TrickyNick79

    I remember when Jurassic Park came out they really downplayed the puppets in the marketing because they wanted to highlight how revolutionary the CGI was. I was blown away when I learnt it was just five minutes of CGI.

    • @coyote-bird1801
      @coyote-bird1801 2 года назад +1

      A cool thing about the CGI is that originally the whole movie was going to be claymation but when they decided to try some parts in CGI, they really went hard on making everything thing in the movie as real as possible even though CGI ended up only playing a minor role compared to the puppets. So without that decision to try out some CGI, Jurassic Park would have been a *very* different movie

It’s framed as sort of a “Visitor’s Guide” to Dinotopia and the various buildings you might see there. Incredible art, for sure.
