    I listened to my wife of buying a house even before I saw where it would be built and I never spent more tan about 2 weeks in the Philippines. Our house was finished being built towards the end of 2019. We went to the Philippines in December of 2019 where I stayed until October of 2020 and my wife went back to the States in the end of January 2020. My wife wanted me to see how I liked living in the Philippines which I liked even though it was during the pandemic. Our house is in Silang, Cavite about 19km (12 miles) north of Taal. Both the pandemic and the eruption would've probably been more than most people could handle. I like the subdivision where we live and I like the people who live there. I never thought about living in a foreign country before but now it's all I do. Some people can adapt better than others so that probably has a lot to do with people moving there compared to just visiting there for an extended stay. Glad to have a house bought and paid for.

    My girlfriend/fiancé just got her K1 visa approved. She'll be coming to the US hopefully by Sept. 2024. She'll likely be working here close to 10 years and perhaps retire in the Philippines. We'll be looking at some land perhaps in the next few years. So, we'll have a place to call home when we do retire in the Philippines. Great that you guys made a good decision to buy properties in the Philippines. 👍

    I bought a farm lot in Cavite in 2016. It's a 2.1 hectare property @ P150/sq meter then sold it at P800/sq meter in 2022. We made very good amount of money and that set's up my early retiremet. At 60 y.o. I decided to retire and now enjoying it. If I could have hold on to it up to this time, I could have earned more because the prices had gone up considerably today.

    As long as the USD currency or any currency is strong against the Philippine peso that would be more advantageous to foreigners or OFW Filipinos which has purchasing power but for the ordinary locals, this is a headache and tough.

    Good info in the video. Bataan real estate is going to skyrocket soon in my opinion with that bridge that will be built connecting the peninsula to Manila area. People who currently reside in Manila on the outskirts will be looking for property in Bataan. Lots in our neighborhood here in Pampanga are selling at 20K per SQM and up now, its crazy. A lot size of 120 SQM going for 3M+ is nuts to me but it is what it is. I am confident we can get at least 3M more for our house than what we paid for it. Which I won't complain about haha

    Worked overseas for 20 years. The U.S. is not the utopia people make it out to be. Moving abroad eliminates state and local taxes. Federal, state, and local governments want to separate you from your money.

    Hello Mark it's been awhile. I feel that way leaving USA and move to the Philippines. Until this day i'm not ready to move back to the Philippines. We have a 3-story home in the province in the Philippines a beautiful home, but i can't see myself yet to move there. We go there to skip the winter here but then ever since the pandemic struck, i feel uncomfortable going back to live there. First off the WiFi sucks and the brownouts are annoying. And every time we go out going to grocery for example in the Philippines it felt like we have to watch our back every time. I don't like that. The law exist but not enforced. Enjoy life both.

    It’s worth buying now especially good location are in short supply. As you get closer to a major metro area like Manila or Cebu the higher the prices are. We are 30 min from Metro Manila and land prices were we are at are selling for 42k pesos per sq meters. But is a secluded and resort type community with parks, multiple pools and weigh rooms. So I guess price will vary depending on these perks. The house and lot was 10mil pesos 2 yrs ago and has gone up since then. So, yeah don’t rent, but buy if you can.

    One the greatest investments one can make now is adopting a solar system model. Electricity costs are growing at an alarming rate in the Philippines. I plan to buy and redesign a house the way I like. Going solar will be a priority and of course getting Starlink.

    Keep thinking you hit it big. Yes you gained equity in your house in the US, but the houses in the Philippines remain the same or as we say here you can pay what ever price you want in the Philippines. Your house here in the Philippines is still worth what you paid for it because we do not have an appraisal program here. So no you did not hit the jackpot here.

    • @Marker44
      @Marker44  Месяц назад +2

      We actually had our house appraised when we bought it. I can tell you that land and home prices in the Philippines have risen quite a bit since we bought our house in 2019. Agree to disagree
