After over a dozen years of looking at campers I thought I knew exactly what to expect when I first walked up to this travel trailer.. but I am GLAD to report it surprised me right from the start!!
East to West RV took a familiar concept and elevated in ways I did not expect. The bedroom, taller ceiling, and heated belly were not things I am used to seeing on a no-slide "stick and tin" style camper. The docking station was similarly a pleasant find!!

Very impressive for around $24,000. A porcelain toilet, a TV, a sofa, a 3 burner stove with oven, tinted windows, a 12 volt fridge, etc. Still would like to see a ladder and some solar, but the standard features in this price range exceed those of Cherokee, Wildwood and many other manufacturers👍👍👍

Interesting! I saw this brand at my storage, had never heard of it before. This is probably my favorite take on this no-slide floorplan. King bed. Nice bath. Wet bay. Ducted air. Enclosed underbelly. Two and a half thumbs up on this one.
Having a friend with a newer wolfpack that is 'missing' a few cabinet doors, I completely agree that the lack of cabinet doors is a miss. After a few trips with items on the floor upon arrival, he added bungee nets. He curses the design every time I see him hahaha.
One thing I would like to see is a window in the door. Campers that are missing that just look so plain.
*Edit* - I just saw the price on this one. Now it's three thumbs up!

I chuckle every time you say “I don’t hate this, but…” You did a great job presenting a balance approach and reminding people that this is an entry camper. Not sure of pricing, but it feels like (personally), it would be better off spending a little more for something that should last a long number of years. And agree - those sharp edges on the bed would absolutely be a head-knocker!

Don't know that I've ever seen that layout. Very interesting. Honestly, this would be great for like a solo outdoorsman. You have a comfy king size bed. You won't have to squeeze past anyone because you're alone. Have a couch to watch TV and nice table/ workspace. Don't have to hassle with slides. Good size bathroom. Not bad but kind of niche.

I really like the plain decor! Very easy to dress up and personalize but the subtle touches like the chevron floor keep it from being too bland while the light looks helps keep it from feeling too enclosed. I love that both the sofa and dinette fold out - perfect! I love that kitchen sink, but it definitely needs a chop board cover if it’s going to be that big in that small of a space, to give additional sandwich assembly space. So many quality details at such an affordable price point! For the price and quality in what is there, I’m willing to overlook a few drawbacks.

I like all the storage, the place for a larger trash can, the size of the bathroom but I would prefer the bathroom to be at the opposite end to the bed. I don’t like the narrow space between the kitchen and the bathroom. I realize that there are downsides to placing the bathroom where I suggest but for me it beats the tight space this layout has in the middle.

I feel you read my mind lol I'm always looking for which camper will be my first and was looking at this the other day, I see these alot as our local dealer has them and being in this unit before it feels more spacious in person, for the price I can't really complain yes there's small things like I think there should be a roof vent fan in the living area and doors on the storage which anybody with a screw driver could make cheap doors for, also the sewer will get destroyed if you get a front tire blowout, and the upper cabinet build mistake with it not perfect on the wall, which I noticed, but your the only salesmen ik that would mention that. But the higher ceiling, bigger AC, inclosed belly, docking station, tinted windows, etc... You really can't complain, it's a nice unit👍👍

Sweet little no slide camper. I could see the toilet area being tight on my shoulders, I am not 2 axe handles wide but not small either. Having a king bed can be handy, it always seemed all the kids that said they would sleep in tents end up in a puppy pile on the bed and I ended up sleeping on the coach, but normally a smaller one is ok. Nice to see you get to branch out, cannot wait till you do a Super C. Stay safe and healthy, keep having fun.

I own a 2021 Jayco 212QB - there are a couple advantages to the East West - smooth front cap, king bed, and enclosed cupboards over the bed. Other than that, I will take the Jayco. Bigger windows, no docking station taking up storage, there are more cupboards, bigger windows, more windows, and a double sink. The whole window issue is big! Thank you for presenting the other options.

Personally I am not a fan of this one. Key areas of concern:
    1) The sink is right in front of the bathroom door. That is just a set up for a literal door knob up the buttox.
    2) Only 1 window in the bedroom, sure there is the fan, but what about cross breeze?
    3) For the size of the bathroom, that certainly is a tight fit, especially for the "generously proportioned" of is out there.
    4) all that RV side and I feel they skimped on the Awning size.
    5) lack of doors on some storage areas.
I really like that the king bed is standard. And the colors are beautiful. Just offering some constructive feedback since I know they do listen. :)

  • @jillaltman2474
    @jillaltman2474 2 года назад +1

Very nice looking with the light colors but seems very tight with space. The kitchen is nice except for no pantry doors. Bathroom is nice too with the big shower and counter space. The couch looks comfortable.

  • @MichaelGalletly
    @MichaelGalletly 2 года назад +3

    Notes-- great price point.
Would prefer the kitchen counter to extend farther towards the door for another cabinet and more counter. Would prefer a longer awning. Would prefer a door over the pantry. Would build and install it myself if it came to it.
    LOVE the services docking station.
Is the roof walk-able? I can add a telescoping ladder if I need to.
All the things I wish were better, I can live with at this price point.
So, one thing to ask-- If the unit I want isn't available at the Bish's near me (Salt Lake City, in this case), can it be shipped or would that be extra cost or what? Thanks!

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  2 года назад +1

A kitchen counter overhang right there really would be nice wouldn't it.. good call on that. Maybe a flip-up extension at least?

⚫I really like the decor of this one, not too "busy". (I don't like contrasting moulding or ceiling fixtures, for instance.)
⚫I agree that the pantry beside the fridge needs doors so that cans & glass bottles don't fall out when on the move. But the bathroom open shelving is ok, as you say rolled towels and tp aren't likely to fall out or be a hazard.
⚫I like the size of the bathroom, even if it does make the outer hall tight. It would be nice if the corner beside the fridge could be curved.
⚫In the bedroom I'd definitely down size the bed to a queen. As for those sharp corners on the side closets, they sell clear silicone corner protectors.
⚫I like that they went with the farmer's sink with high-rise faucet.
⚫I wish the window over the dinette was centered over the table, though.

About 1,400lbs more but yeah -- a chunk. Check the lengths -- that's a big reason why. Extending the RV in a couple of places (like the bedroom) quickly adds extra weight to the RV.

I agree with your review. It is a nice camper especially for the price. I think there should be a window in the door, if nothing else it is a safety thing. I’m thinking that narrow hall at the bathroom would be a deal breaker for me. I would have to get inside one to be sure.

The floor plan has a lot of appeal a traveling couple wanting nice amenities but the simplicity of no slide outs. The duel axels, pass thru storage, light weight, anda decent amount of cargo capacity are great features. But, this floor plan in an aluminum welded frame and fiberglass bonded double azidale side walls would make for an awesome rig. These features might add cost, but they’d also significantly increased this trailer’s overall value. (in my opinion) Respectfully, W.S

Love this floor plan especially if you are going to spent most of the time outside. Not having a window in the door is great. Add a curtain between the bathroom wall and the entry door and you would have an awesome space to get dressed while keeping the king bed. Also if you have a guests or kiddos sleeping in back it will give you some privacy. The back has so much potential to be modified desk, L-shaped lounge, recliners.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd

Love this layout...but (you knew there had to be a 'but,' right?)...wood frame? Why does anyone still use 'stick and tin?' It's not the aluminum siding I have an issue with, it's wood framing! Wood rots...RV's leak (some on day one, but eventually most if not all leak). Ok, onward with my 'review review.'
    The good:
    Great layout!
    Great pass-through.
    Power tongue jack, docking station
Love the lighter decor and nice to see
    no white and black cabinets!
Kudos for the little side-pockets by the
head of the bed! I hate seeing full ward-
robes with noplace for your glasses or
    cellphone.
    The bad:
Is that axle bent? Looks bent.
No window in entry door. Just doesn't look
    right.
    Incandescent marker lights?
I would have centrally located the AC unit.
They could have, and should have used
magnetic door-catches if not struts on the
    cabinet doors.
No power outlets at the head of the bed.
they put the nice 'nightstand' pockets there
but forgot to provide a way to charge a phone
    etc.
    Non-opening window above the sink.
    12V fridge...@$%!&#/:!
The pantry, as you pointed out, needed doors.
    Looks unfinished.
Curtain instead of a solid wall/pocket door
    in the bedroom.
They should have left out the snow! 😁
    Summary:
Would I buy this if it fit my needs and I was in the market for this size unit? No. The deal-killers for me are primarily the wood frame, 12V fridge (and not even an included solar package), the lack of power at the head of the bed, and yesterday's technology marker lights. The other things I had pointed out wouldn't have been a deciding factor for my 'I'll pass' decision, I could have accepted them, but there are simply too many big things that did. Really is a nice floorplan but they came up short, almost like they gave up 3/4 of the way through.
As always, great review, appreciate how you do it, and pretty cool to see you at one of the other locations too. Looking forward to seeing more Rockwood (and also Flagstaff now) videos soon. Take care, keep warm! 😁

Thank you for taking the time to write all of this up. There’s actually some interesting benefits to stick and 10 campers that I don’t think a lot of people acknowledge and realize.
Not only are they less costly but in the event you need to do some work on them they’re far far easier to work on as compared to laminated RVs.
Both laminated and sticking to RVs have the same seals on the roof and basically require the same upkeep. But if there ever was water able to penetrate in one area of the RV that did some thing like affect the sidewall, and a stick and tin trailer could be rebuilt to factory spec. A laminated RV requires an entire wall to be replaced. It’s not a small project obviously
Laminated RVs most certainly have their own set of benefits as well. Which one is best for an individual client really depends on their preferences, budget, and a few other factors

I like that idea. A lot actually. It makes a lot of sense here.
As to "why not" I suspect there are two answers:
1.) Sliding hardware is more expensive and this is a cost-sensitive market segment
2.) They likely don't use that hardware elsewhere in the facility where these are purchased so it's not available to them here

Hummm okey dokey good for us with mobility issues however would definately need a change in the living area. I'd go with two a recliner rocker chair & chair w storage ottoman and a movable table w 2 chairs.
Kitchen change the easy bake oven & a window that opens. Screen on sink side.
Pantry make slide out would cut the shelf back a few inches to put on a folding accordion door with shelves for easy pantry. ☺
Bedroom workable since just used for sleeping.
Rather have window on the entry door with screen door.
IF the folding camp kitchen would fit in the pass thru then the outside water/propane quick connect would work.
Will never need or want outside tv or speakers ☺
Bathroom 👍 (tho i like the lil tub)
Would definately put a door on open shelves.

This is a layout I could get in. Especially since it has such an attractive price! What a refreshing change since over the last year prices had gone ridiculously high. At first I was put off by the plainness of the look of the interior, but with a little personalizing and color, the interior would really look quite nice. I am not a fan of the missing pantry and bathroom cabinet doors however. And the sharp corners on the bottoms of the bedroom closets, but the storage pocket behind the drawers is quite nice. I suspect the cabinetry and the furniture on the inside is a bit less robust than some of the other brands you have on offer, but I am keeping in mind the price point. I prefer a window in the entry door not only for the natural light, but I also like to look through the window to check outside before I open the door. Just a Long ingrained habit I have. And it’s not going to change.
I like the suggestion of a desktop or bar in the dinette area. With a bar, you can look out the window while you eat. I would consider removing the seat next to the stove and redoing the table. I would also ad some sort of magnet or catch to hold the overhead doors above the couch open.
I personally like the king bed arrangement.
Outside, the unit is set up quite nice I think. The covered underbelly, the localized drains. I don’t care about or want a rear ladder. Since I tend to fall off ladders, I won’t be climbing one any time soon.
Can the suspension shackles be replaced or modified to drop this trailer 2 pr 3 inches?
I am not really satisfied with the looks of the side skirts.on the trailer. Something just doesn’t look right or looks a little bit off about them.
It would be nice if they had a option to choose a different color for the colored shin panels on the outside of the trailer, maybe a soft sky blue, canary yellow, rose red or moss green color choice.
