I LOVE the 'outside the box' thinking on the Alta Extreme 3100 KXT. That's a MUST DO for your in-depth videos and hopefully sooner rather than later since is sooooooo different!! Always exciting to see a mfg get creative with reimagining double bunks! I'll be very interested to see what the weights, tank capacity and solar set up is for that one.
We bought one a couple weeks ago. Probably my favorite features are the high ceilings and the washer/dryer “room” he doesn’t mention in the review. As full-timers, finding a TT with washer/dryer hookup was a must…we didn’t expect to find one with at all, moreover one with a walk-in one. The Azdel super thick walls and ceilings along with the heated water lines are the other perks we won’t to appreciate until winter.
Hey Josh, Twin Bed Guy here, that 3100KXT bunk looks amazing! Seems like something Ember could easily do as well in their Touring Editions, it would be a good alternative to their "storage locker".
3100KXT Alta Extreme now this is a real Camper RV, made for all sizes, short to tall galoops like me. 👏 👏 👏 👏 I hope this sells like crazy. Love it, now I just need a motorhome in the front lol. Kidding, although it would make a nice value motorhome. This is like the 5th wheel with a flat roof all the way back, I was talking about the other week. But no 5th wheel needed. Yay. Someone is really smart who designed this

Yes on more on the XTR because E2W needs feedback-mostly just about unnecessary ceiling height that impacts towability and fuel consumption. The appliances and widths are awesome though, as is that bunk/office corner in the 3100.

I love the color scheme and decor of these new units! Two thumbs up! A lot of nice luxury touches, too. All too big for my little truck, but I still enjoyed the tour! Hey, I actually went and looked at some towables in person today! Crazy!

I love love love the Alta series. The construction just seems to punch above its weight and class. I clocked the Brinkleyesque vibes too on the blackthorn, interested to check out the rest of the line up! Just a bit disappointed with the bigger KTH Alta. We were waiting for it to pull the trigger on a purchase. But we’re hoping for something more original when we were promised ‘revolutionise the ToyHauler space’. Och well.

Looked at a ton at the Hershey show this past weekend... for my half ton i really liked the 2810... would love a toy hauler but the limited floor plans pushed me to more comfort and space. Lots of storage of the 2810, just hope as a previous poster mentioned, the support from forest river is a concern.
I am really in the mind set that I want to go with East to west as a brand for my wife and I to go to. Thanks I really like the direction they're headed. Looking real classy.
To say that the Ahara is a Brinkley knock-off is an understatement. I'd challenge East to West to show more originality and just not copy Brinkley. Feels like the kid that would always glance over at my answers on my test at school and copy them.
Agree with others... need more on the 3100kxt I think a cargo door would be a good addition. Also for those not wanting a desk, the option to leave the floor space open would be nice to allow more cargo room.
The takoda toy hauler is nice. I would like to see them figure out a way to put small end tables with outlets on the outside walls so plugging in would be convenient
I sure would love to see a full walkthrough of the Alta 2870KTH! With those super tall ceilings, even my 6'7" husband should be able to clear the overhead bed. So many of the toy hauler travel trailers put a big mirror in the nose of the trailer in the bedroom which to me is completely useless. STORAGE is what is needed and this one doesn't have that stupid mirror. I like the outside kitchen with grill/griddle combo. So, the only things in my research I see that I DON'T like so far on this model is the table and the TV height. The TV I can probably get a different mount to bring it down to better viewing height. They need to put in an indoor/outdoor folding table so that it can have a purpose when it isn't between the two rollover sofas...either on the patio, in front of the big window, or on the ground. PLEASE can we get a full walkthrough?
Mark Krol stated that every East to West wall had EVERY opening fully framed out in aluminum. Even the tiny opening for the auto leveling in the fifth wheels. Plywood floors. Please confirm but I believe every other Alta has 2" sidewalls, with the Xtreme versions like Josh mentioned having 3" sidewalls. The Ahara fifth wheels were coming with the "Gladiator" versions of the 7,000lb axles which have the thicker axle tubes. Josh explained the REALLY killer different engineering in the bedroom slide in Ahara in another video, and I think that is a big feature. ONLY the weight of the mattress and bed base are sliding in and out which means all the weight of the junk under my bed isn't straining the system, the hole in the side of the RV is much smaller which has big structural benefits. Vacuum bonding and Azdel too. E2W does a lot right, but they do seem to still not be focused like Alliance or Brinkley. But, someone needs to tell Alliance their "pantries" are all a joke. LOL!

Comments relate to travel trailers only as we don't have the hauling power for a 5th wheel. I've always liked that this brand offers king beds. What I don't like, is that I haven't seen a 1/2 ton towable unit yet with sufficient kitchen counter space and no creative dining design or option. Josh, I'd also like to hear your opinion of E to W quality. I've walked through a couple of units and felt the quality was lacking.
I really like the direction they’re headed. I don’t care if they borrowed their new direction from Brinkley, it’s an improvement and I’m sure at a serious discount compared to Brinkley. My only concern with E to W is their plumbing. I’ve seen a few questionable plumbing practices that would make me cautious (like using the wrong fitting to connect PEX tube to a flex tube).
My hot take: "True four sesaon" RVs *are not a thing that exists.* RVs are not tested and proven for any/all weather. There are plenty of extreme climates without our country (especially cold winter zones) for which RVs are not proven to be capable of sustaining on their own. Some RVs are tested from 0-100 degrees. That's about it. Rarely does a MFG go beyond that and only by a few degrees when they do.
You can copy the look and gizmos of Brinkley. But at the end of the day if Forest River is your parent company, it's going to be a cheaper build with a warranty that will not support someone living in it 365 days a year. So be ready to re-engineer the RV while on the road. And don't expect any customer support after you drive out of the dealership. You are on your own, "and in space, no one can hear you scream."

Lifetime roof stuff is just the membrane - has nothing to do with construction and prorates harshly This is true not just for etw but most any rv maker with a rubberized roof
I don’t have enough long term experience with them personally to have a good feel for that hold up factor. Not the answer you wanted I am sure but it’s the most fair I can offer. I won’t make up a fluffy answer just to generate a quick sale
Josh, I love your videos! I am planning to upgrade to a mid bunk from my GD Reflection 337 RLS. Right now at the tip top of my list is the Brinkley Z 3610 that you did an awesome video on. Looking at your video here, I get the impression, as you noted, that East to West is heavily "borrowing" inspiration from Brinkley, especially their Blackthorn line. You didn't show East to West mid bunk model here, but just in general, I still like the looks and updates in the Brinkley over this Blackthorn. What are your thoughts comparing the two? Is my understanding that Brinkley is the higher quality, more innovative and over all more functional than Blackthorn accurate?
I don’t think they really compare when you get into the nuts and bolts of it Being candid: my general take away from it was they put Brinkley’s looks on a Tandara and gave it a new name I think there are some major differentiating factors that clearly define them and their price points reflect that Not to say Blackthorn isn’t a solid rv. But it’s not “the same thing for thousands less” by any means
It seems that brinkley started something. East to West and a few other rv manufacturers coping brinkley with the black paint.there still not built as good as a brinkley.
Yeah there's no question Brinkley started a trend. Some mfgs have taken note of little things like the magnet catches for the cabinet doors. Others have flat attempted to run a brinkley thru a copy machine
@JoshtheRVNerd yeah the tandara 27bh-ok and the blackthorn 27bh-ok look the same as far as features and layout. I know for sure tandara has bigger holding tanks, but that is it. If that's the case, then what's the point of naming them differently if they are not that different. I was hoping u had the answers since I hold u at a higher standard 🤣.

You didn't show East to West mid bunk model here, but just in general, I still like the looks and updates in the Brinkley over this Blackthorn. What are your thoughts comparing the two? Is my understanding that Brinkley is the higher quality, more innovative and over all more functional than Blackthorn accurate?
I don’t think they really compare when you get into the nuts and bolts of it
Being candid: my general take away from it was they put Brinkley’s looks on a Tandara and gave it a new name
I think there are some major differentiating factors that clearly define them and their price points reflect that
Not to say Blackthorn isn’t a solid rv. But it’s not “the same thing for thousands less” by any means
It seems that brinkley started something. East to West and a few other rv manufacturers coping brinkley with the black paint.there still not built as good as a brinkley.
Yeah there's no question Brinkley started a trend. Some mfgs have taken note of little things like the magnet catches for the cabinet doors. Others have flat attempted to run a brinkley thru a copy machine

difference between tandara and blackthorn RV
As far as I could ever really tell.. the name and some of the layouts. Beyond that they appear to be the same thing
@JoshtheRVNerd yeah the tandara 27bh-ok and the blackthorn 27bh-ok look the same as far as features and layout. I know for sure tandara has bigger holding tanks, but that is it. If that's the case, then what's the point of naming them differently if they are not that different. I was hoping u had the answers since I hold u at a higher standard 🤣.
