I had the same problem in my 2010 Toyota Camry with the 2.5L four cylinder this year. The belt was throwing up on the hood too. Had it replaced at my local Toyota dealership. Never had a issue with this car. At the the time of repair, I had 215,000 miles on it. I now have 223,000 plus and still going strong.

This generation ES has a lot of weak spots and the water pump is one of them. My water pump failed at 116k on my 07 and was replaced. A few years ago I decided to get the cooling system flushed out and the radiator started leaking. Got a new one and then upper/lower hoses blew out. Got new hoses, but it kept overheating and so the thermostat was changed and haven't had any problems since, but looking back it should've been changed when the water pump was done.

I can't complain about my es, pump will be first big wear item for me. Brake pads, tires, and fluids that's all has been replaced in 11 years of ownership.

    • @repairvehicle
      @repairvehicle  2 года назад +3

Pump is an wear item just like brake pads and rotors. On some can last 200k miles on others 50k miles.

@@repairvehicle Yeah fair enough, especially once you get past that 100k range. I’ve found it really helpful looking through the Lexus forums and reading ES ownership experiences. Lets you know what you to expect as you pack on the miles

Hi got any tips regarding the heat being too hot on large tube from radiator to engine. Dashboard say engine too hot. Radiator is way cooler temp and suspension fan not kicking in when it is meant too. Coolant is passing out of overflow tube looks like but im not yet certain. There is a random red plug at bottom of radiator near battery dodge journey 2011. Thanks

My issue on my 2010 FX35 is that when the coolant goes into the expansion tank, it does not get sucked back into the rad when it cools.... i often have to siphon back to rad once the engine is cold. I tried 4 brand new rad caps, new rad, new thermostat, hoses, coolant temp sensor, new metal heater valve etc.... bled and burped the system and have been having this issue since last summer. Whats wild is that i dont have any symptoms, except some light white smoke.... doesn't seem like I'm losing coolant, just need to keep siphoning from expansion tank to rad, if i don't do this, the car will overheat. If i drive more than 50 miles all the coolant ends up in the expansion tank, and theres a lot of gurgling behind steering wheel. I'm getting my head gasket replaced next week along with timing chain and water water pumps... 3500.00 for the job. I was thinking just doing the waterpump, but, i dont want to risk having the same exact issue and having to come out of pocket again.

2006 ES330. Coolant was low and noticed a hole in the radiator. Replaced radiator, hoses, coolant cap. Still losing fluid in the reservoir bout .25 inch a day. When I start the car in the morning I hear squeaking.. Changed all the belts and belt dressing does not help. No Coolant on the ground. Maintenance history shows it waterpump and timing belt changed 50k ago. Can it be the pump?

My 2008 Infiniti g37 leaks on and off. When I get done driving it will sometimes leak for a little while then stop then I will get back in it and go and it does it again so if not a consistent leak. Could it be the hose, radiator, or water pump?

    • @repairvehicle

    I have same problem.
    I already replaced water pump.
And then new water pump started leaking too.
Then car over heated because air got in coolant and thermostat didn't open.
    So I removed thermostat.
Now I have to check water pump.
    Horrible.
    Just horrible.

I bought a use 1998 CRV with 220k miles. When we test drove it no leak. Later that day when we drove it, coolant began leaking under the water pump. it eventually stopped leaking but has not leaked since, even after driving it. No noise, no overheating, drives really smooth, starts right up. What could it be?

12/02/23- 5:45am. I have a 2006 hyundai elantra 4dr. With 105000 MI on it im original owner, had radiator, and ac system, replaced, car squeels no leakage if not using ac, byt coolant leakage if using ac, if turn on heat its super hot, seems like coolant doesn't go bk into rad from cool reserve leaks under car near reserve once in a while think its cause i keep filling the rad if its low while reserve tank already has coolant in it, its just a guess not positive and if i use ac after you park it and turn off their is coolant on ground may be coming from the area of water pump but no leaks if i dont use ac, what could be the problem can the lower gose to the water pump be bad? Without the pump being bad? And why doesn't my coolant go back in to the rad after its cooled off or does it go bk in the rad when you start the car after it cooled down? Im not mechanically inclined was told i needed a water pump by service mng. One of the mechanics said you got a bad hose... 4:32 so im at loss on what to do i dont want to get ripped off... i dont use the ac at all even tho its been replaced cause of this issue it runs great but afraid to use ac... can you answer my questions an guve ne sone advice?? Thanks...
