  • Paradise...for many a faded collage in one's head with a hint of turquoise water, question mark shaped palm trees bent in the Caribbean wind, maybe one tall Piña Colada billed to the room?
What I found was another paradise. Where news is still objective, food is still substantive, and smiles supersede all that disconnects us. A paradise along a snaking murky river loaded with caymans and tradition. Somewhere hidden deep in the nationstate of Panama. Somewhere where the Emberá go.
Big thanks to Mili and every at Emberá Querá for welcoming me into their community!

Her brother stayed with us as an exchange student for the 2008/09 school year and had extended stays with us two more times. I am delighted with the continuous development of their village over the years in eco-tourism.
