Love it - "I'm getting a Michael Jackson vibe" Andrew Eldrich (look up what his surname means) is probably the polar opposite of MJ. Probably '80s Goth at its peak
I would recommend Temple of Love '92 feat. Ofra Haza. It's a banger!
cant beat the original 1983 version .
‘96? The version with Ofra Haza was released in 1992 to promote the “Some Girls Wander By Mistake” compilation album
@@thelwulfeoforlic6482 You're right. I had the song in my head when I wrote it. '96 below the waves'. 😀
It is said that when a goth dies, their voice is added to the choir at the start of this song.
LOL
Its true
Beautiful!
Yes!!! More Sisters of Mercy!! Do “Lucretia, My Reflection” next!
Second this!
God yes!!
Excellent choice
Agree
Good choice, same album, by the way
Oh nice pick! My legs are sore thinking how many hours I spent dancing to this!
Vision Thing
Something Fast
Ah there's so many
Oh yeah! I love Sisters of Mercy's songs.
A very energetic song. Best played extremely loud.
Awesome group and song! Gothic rock!
THE SISTERS OF MERCY 🖤 FLOODLAND
Sister of Mercy Sister of reeeeeeeeeact !!!!🤔🤫🥰🥰🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
this corrosion- Best video 80'S
Great band!!!! Underrated!
The band's name comes from the title of an early Leonard Cohen song. You should be familiar with Leonard who, unfortunately, is currently in the state of dead. All signs point to him remaining in that state for the foreseeable future.
Rebell Yell is a song from Billy IDOL ! Billy Joel's most famous song is "uprown girl"
IF there is a cult song from the Sisters of Mercy, then it is definitely
"Marian".

Andrew Eldritch chose to settle in Hamburg/Germany and in this song, that represents the earlier Sisters sound, he incorporated a German verse, too. It is very dark and has the original Sisters of Mercy vibe, that was in the realm with bands like Fields of the Nephilim, and if you want, maybe The Cure. It was definitely one of the hymns of the first Gothic scenes.
This Corrosion was a late single that was very mainstream compared to what they did before. Therefore, the pop-like sound is somehow misleading.
Fields of the Nephilim I can recommend fully, too. A very unique sound and stage presence. Also, very deep and dark, yet somehow very catchy, too.
Im Australian and play INXS TO LOOK AT YOU from 1983 classic new wave.
Similarities to Billy Idol? Yes, I can see that. Billy Joel? Hell no!!! xD
Exactly we got confused with the name!
You are correct they are 80's-90's gothic band their sound is infectious the more and more you hear them the more you love. other songs by them you should listen to to get more of a feel for are Temple Of Love; Lucretia, My Reflection; More to start
Rain on the sunglasses! That did it for me! An the song is KILLER!
The sisters of mercy-Nine while nine, is my favorite
Plini-Cascade. It’s instrumental but it’s SUCH an amazing tune. Drums in this song are ridiculous!
Context has been lost as time passes by. As a GenX'er who grew up at the height of this song's popularity, this was near the apex of the Soviet Union breaking apart. The threat of nuclear war seemed very real, which this video contextualized.
Love them. They were big post-punk (new wave) in the 80’s
its a goth rock isnt post punk
@@malyfromhell74 No it.s not not. This is New Wave
@@metalmarc9542 You have no idea, please don't be ignorant. Anyone who knows music will tell you that it's goth rock.
Info from discogs: Rock band formed in Leeds, UK, in 1980, by singer Andrew Eldritch and guitarist Gary Marx. Eldritch is the only surviving member of the original line-up. The band was Notoriously different on each of their three studio albums, from media dubbed 'goth' to 'keyboards' to 'American rock'. The band is known for being part of the '80s goth music scene, however they deny any association with goth, and consider themselves first and foremost a rock band. Their influences include Leonard Cohen, The Stooges, Suicide and MOTÖRHEAD.
@@malyfromhell74 i beg the difference. I lived the bezinning of the 80's ad a teenager and this is New Wave. Goth rock wasn't even a term back then!
@@metalmarc9542 It so happens that I was also a teenager at that time and I remember perfectly Bauhaus, Joy Division, Killing Joke, Fields of the Nephilim, Siouxsie and the Banshees, X Mal Deutschland, The Cure, Lords of the New Church, Theatre of Hate, The Chameleons or Sisters of Mercy and The Mission. Gothic rock was created in the late 1970s, the precursor of which is Bauhaus. Yes, this trend is a development of post punk music (Joy Division, The Creatures). Certainly not NEW Wave. New Wave is definitely less guitar and more keyboard playing and pop music, with a lot of experimentation, with a small element of punk music. Gothic rock is primarily 80% punk music, with a dark addition, without strange experiments and too astatic drums on synthesizers in the direction of Synth Pop music. Yes, these aesthetics intertwined somewhere, but goth rock was closer to post punk, cold wave and even dark wave than to new wave (such as: The Cars, Suicide, Television, Talking Heads, The Police, Devo, U2).
Sisters Of Mercy les "Roi" du rock Gothique.
Buen tema chicas saludos desde Argentina
Thanks!!!
Love this band better songs on album
Michael Jackson vibe!!!!!?!?!?!!
You are kidding right?!?! The king of goth!!!!
Perfect
Hola me gustan mucho sus videos 😍
Maybe change to 1 Sister React --- Joking!! ...Good to have honest opinion and not fake a reaction....Good Work Sisters!
😂
I think they have a David Bowie flared to their music
Barely, only because the voice is deep, but there are many closer comparisons.
Please react to Wasteland and Another Fall from Grace' by The Mission.
Gothrock Gods!
Mortal Kombat - that's KMFDM and Juke Joint Jezebel, check it out ...
Billy idol..... Billy Joel plays a piano
React Watching over me by Iced earth
Interesting fact - the lady (Patrica Morrison) neither sings nor plays on this song and made minimal contribution to the album “Floodland”
Gotic Rock
The Sisters of Mercy is a religious order Andrew named his band after.
Olá
Esta canção é de 1985
Rock Gótico
OMG 😂😂 really. One of the best goth tracks in history and these girlies? Someone has to stop this bullshit pls!!
Hehehe I had my fun sponsoring it....
The goths and Wacko fans would love them being compared to each other!?
Listen to candlemass - bewitched or demons gate
David Bowie's vocal style...
Michael Jackson vibes 😂😂😂
Never in my life have i heard Sisters of Mercy compared to either Michael Jackson Or Billy Joel. Nither come close to the sound of this band..
Jackson stole Andrews' look. And that is the truth.
Why speed it up...???
Welcome to goth rock😜
Can you please react to Garbage song called The Creeps
Just dropped
Please
The Sisters of Mercy are a great band just don’t mention the G word Andrew Eldritch hates it lol
You beauties should react to Battery by Metallica 1989 in Seattle, if you haven't done already.
HOLA CHICAS SIEMPRE CON USTEDES
Interesting, you are not meant to take the song seriously, the song is poking fun at all those people who champion causes of the downtrodden but do nothing other than talk about it. The verses are just strings of soundbites that are meant to seem profound but are empty without action.
In Extremo - This corrosion (Folk metal cover)
Way off on the reaction... Billy Joel? Seriously not connecting to this... but it's ok
Hell is REAL. Repent of your sins and turn to God. Believe in his Son Jesus and be saved. God loves you.
If you don't like Sisters (lady on right) then I will never watch your videos again. Goodbye!
Fake reaction
Nothing like MJ at all really, good reaction however.
