Ezra definitely had more training than obi wan had as he was keeping his skills in the force honed. He did extremely well and I do think he was playing a little.
I think its interesting how balan earlier said impatience leads to loosing and the only time ezra gets hit is when sabine impatiantly urges him to attack shin when the troopers arrive.
ezra seemed weak as hell here, got humiliated by shin and had to give up on his little force pushes and switch to a blaster in order to keep up with stormtroopers
I love the different interactions we see with Shin Hati against all the Jedi here. Against Sabine, it's pretty much an even match; against Ezra, he's maybe got the slight upper hand - without a lightsaber; and then there's Ahsoka, who just swats her away like Shin is just an annoying fly.
Shin really isn't all that impressive, which is fine. Sabine was hinted several times in Rebels that she was Force Sensitive (Loth Wolves, Owls, Bendu), but ultimately it comes down to her ability to use the Darksaber. We see Din struggle with it in Mando because he is not force sensitive and has no desire for leadership (unlike Bo Katan and other Mandos before him). Sabine is in a similar boat, she has no desires for leadership but after only a day of training with Ezra and Kanan (RIP space dad) she's wielding the Darksaber like a boss, which leaves being Force Sensitive as being the other explanation. Kanan also points out that the Force has a will of its own, and he really doubts that it was by pure chance that Sabine picked up the Darksaber on Dathomir. At the same time when he trains her it's clear how frustrated he is, he sees that she has the talent for it but her childhood trauma, innate stubbornness, and plain being a Mandalorian is holding her back. Get a chance and check out Rebel Trial of the Darksaber, Sabine and Kanan fight. It's probably a two minute clip at max but we really see that Sabine has the chops but its clear that cutting herself off from not only others but the Force as well is what's blocking her potential as a Force User. Which goes back to Ahsoka. When Huyang says she has the least aptitude of the Force, he meant it as a way to motivate her - not that she is the weakest force sensitive he's met. The only person she hasn't cut herself off to is Ezra, and it's only until Ezra's about to fall to her death is she able to clearly focus on just him and give him that huge Force push to get him onto Thrawn's ship. A lot of viewers look at that and claim BS, when really it's her finally breaking down that mental wall and connecting with the Force after years and year of attempts. Given her genius IQ, her talent with explosives, her talent with art, and expertise as a Mandalorian - I don't think Disney will make her as powerful a jedi as say someone like Ezra. But as she continues to break down those mental walls of her that had cut herself off from everyone except Ezra, her connection to the Force should grow stronger. Again, it wasn't her lacking skill in the Force. It was her nonstop psychological trauma since childhood that was holding her back. Had it been Kanan or Ezra that were teaching Sabine, she could've pushed past all that. But with Ahsoka also carrying around so much baggage of her own she really wasn't in the right place to be a teacher, especially for Sabine.
This scene makes me laugh because Ezra fights the way I would play Jedi Academy with my family. I would often put away my lightsaber, cast force speed, and jump around their attacks and push them off cliffs to kill them. It frustrated the heck out of them but it always led to a laugh whenever they did manage to score a kill.
He blocked Shin's lightsaber like a boss, and it makes sense. It's been ten years since he's held a lightsaber and he was a badass with it, but having been so out of practice now if Ezra trying to use a saber against Shin - who has been training regularly - would put him at a disadvantage. Also have to love how Shin came out of nowhere and slashed at his head, only for Ezra to duck at the last possible moment, then he faces her with this look and just says: "Close." That's when Shin realized she was in over her head against Ezra.
Apparently, he has sort of new force powers... where instead of actually punching and physically landing a blow. He uses the force to land the blow. That's what hes doing in this scene... on top of obviously stopping a lightsaber with the force, which is pretty cool.
Ezra's been isolated for so long and yet he's still the same old rebel we all know and love. Still makes me sad how the sequel trilogy treated Luke in comparison.
They haven’t seen each other for 10 years and they interact like siblings. It reminds me of them on rebels. Also Ezra and his new friends are cute when they interact as well.
Maybe those Stormtroopers aren't so dead like we thought they are, because if they were dead and were brought back to life by Nightsister Magic, wouldn't they be rising back up after being shot by a blaster or explode into a cloud of green dust?
Maybe they dont explode because of how weak they are. I mean, I would assume that it would be much harder to revive an inquisitor than a stormtropper. I'm still having them listed as dead until we really know otherwise.
Not sure how, not sure why, but like Donald Glover with Lando, Eman Esfandi has moments where he just sounds perfectly like Ezra, just, the voice, like the way he says "Hey Sabine." or Donald would say "Alright alright." I dunno if they did some vocal training for just those words or certain phrases, but it really blends them well together
I’d like that. It was cool seeing force-fu Ezra, but give him a lightsaber. On the other hand, it would be cool to see him explain this concept to Luke if they ever meet up.
Ezra's force-fu was kinda badass, not gonna lie. I mean lightsabers are cool, but fighting guys with guns with your fists and the force because that's all you need is chad tier.
I can believe that Sabine is force sensitive. Force sensitives seem to attract each other. But, the additional step of training her up introduces an interesting dynamic and reminds me of her earlier experiences/doubts.
Yeah that’s really my only problem with this episode as well as Ezra not being what I hoped he would’ve been in this episode. Back to the fact though if it were regular Stormtroopers I would’ve been cool with it but these dudes are literally juiced up with Nightsister Magick, kind of a bad first impression if I’m gonna be real with you and I hope they aren’t like this in the Heir to The Empjre movie but we can only hope.
Atleast the stormtroopers and Thrawn are bros. Thrawn never like the Tarkin Doctrine, and has probably trained these troopers instead of being cannon fodder. Plus he got the troopers to regroup at the end so he cares
I had hoped Ezra's fighting would be a bit darker. If hes been fighting stormtroopers for ten years with only the force, I expect him to be more efficient.

Ahsoka defeating Shin in 5 seconds without a lightsaber. Loved it!
Kindness kills. Ahsoka knows how to handle the feral lil wolf pup. I think Shin will join her side.
Oh, dayum. Shin is getting ragdolled by Ezra and Ahsoka like she's a sack of potato XD
to be fair she did manage to rag doll ezra against the machine
Nah, man. That wasn't ragdolling. Sabine set him up for that XD
Obi Wan: So uncivilized. (Tosses blaster)
Ezra: Eh, civil is overrated.
This episode felt like a classic rebels episode loved it
Fun fact: Ahsoka was the one who taught Ezra this fighting form. It is shown in forces of destiny.
I will kill to see Ezra become the main focus of a character in say a new Star Wars movie.
Never in my mind, I never thought id be crushing on Ezra Bridger, yet here we are.
Man! Ezra blocking the blade like that just makes me think about how wasted Yoda was in the prequels.
Ezra should of been "yo Sabine I know that Saber use to be mine but mind if I borrow it real fast?" Hahaha
Apparently, he has sort of new force powers... where instead of actually punching and physically landing a blow. He uses the force to land the blow. That's what hes doing in this scene... on top of obviously stopping a lightsaber with the force, which is pretty cool.
Ezra turning down his saber legit made me say "what?" aloud. I'd just assumed he'd take it no problem, so what came next really blew me away.
Ezra's been isolated for so long and yet he's still the same old rebel we all know and love. Still makes me sad how the sequel trilogy treated Luke in comparison.
All i need from Ezra now is looking at Enoch (Spelling?) Helmet and saying "never seen that one"
Spelling correct
Ezra: “I need that helmet.”
Sabine: “Ezra no.”
Ezra: “Ezra yes.”
Shin slicing Ezra’s hair was a genuine Spaceballs moment.
They haven’t seen each other for 10 years and they interact like siblings. It reminds me of them on rebels. Also Ezra and his new friends are cute when they interact as well.
Okay, Ezra oficially became my fav character in that series
Ezra is perfect he is still cocky but you can tell he has done actual training and progression
Bro fighting with no weapons. Bro been training hard
"take her, now" - runs like a maniac monkey towards her and get dismissed like a ragdoll. classic Ezra lol
Ezra has basically has become Aang the Last Airbender.
I always had a feeling that Star Wars Rebels was the Avatar of other Star Wars series.
And a bit like Xenoblade Chronicles 1.
At least he sort of retained the ezra sarcasm/snark. Lol. As he shoves his little alien friend back in to the shelter...😂
Ezra really be using the Force. Reminds me of Airbending. Which is how I always kinda viewed the Force.
My man really changed his class from Knight to Monk
He started a New Game+ playthrough.
Ezra be like: "I don't need a lightsaber. I have the holy spirit ghost" cuz he looks like moses
Hope final episode Ezra gets a new third lightsaber since his second is indeed now Sabine's.
Watch him get a blaster pistol instead. Man's had a higher bodycount with a gun than a sword.
THere's a huge armoury of lightsabers on the Jedi ship mounted on the wall. Shown in the Ahsoka training scene with the Anikin hologram.

I’d like that. It was cool seeing force-fu Ezra, but give him a lightsaber. On the other hand, it would be cool to see him explain this concept to Luke if they ever meet up.
he really said "naw keep the saber all i need are these hands"
That lightsaber interaction. THAT there was Sabine and Ezra.

Ezra: Ah you think the Force is your ally you merely adopted the Force
Ezra as a jedi gunslinger using his force powers and blasting enemies is pretty wizard ngl

I like that Ezra grew up just enough without losing his overall personality
Ezra's force-fu was kinda badass, not gonna lie. I mean lightsabers are cool, but fighting guys with guns with your fists and the force because that's all you need is chad tier.
2:45 WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST FIRE? WHAT DID THE STORMTROOPERS DO
the filoni special, he loves making them extra useless
0:45 “The Force is my ally. That’s all I need.”

I can believe that Sabine is force sensitive. Force sensitives seem to attract each other. But, the additional step of training her up introduces an interesting dynamic and reminds me of her earlier experiences/doubts.
Omfg, can we please just have the Stormtroopers not be useless. . . Please
Ikr. So tired of it.
Nope, stormtroopers always been useless, always gonna be😂
They're up against two Jedi and a Mandalorian, do you really think they ever stood a chance?
I had hoped Ezra's fighting would be a bit darker. If hes been fighting stormtroopers for ten years with only the force, I expect him to be more efficient.
He was pretty efficient also seems like he wasn't trying to awful hard since he was with a peaceful species i don't aspect hin to force choke his enemies
