I love my GR3 however, I sold mine on eBay as this magnificent camera suffers from lack of viewfinder hence, I can't see the monitor well due to my bad eyes. I am hopping Ricoh's next version comes with viewfinder.

Sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed they will develop a viewfinder version 👊

you can buy a view finder add-on
but it defeats the purpose of the camera- being a compact EDC that has a large APS-C size sensor

thx for your video! my griii x doesn t react when i change either shutter speed or the aperture.... i just got it fresh from the shop... is there a setting i can change to fix that or is it broken somehow? have you heard about the problem?

Hi, sorry to hear about this! If the camera is in manual mode, it should react to changes to aperture etc. unless you have auto iso turned on in which case the camera will change iso to keep things constant.

    Very helpful, thank you.
I am having a really frustrating issue which I can’t resolve despite having read through the entire instruction manual and delved deeply into all the menu options. And that is that the histogram doesn’t stay on screen in the bottom left corner but only appears when you have the shutter button half-pressed. I find this almost unworkable in a real world setting.
Not sure why this is as I have histogram selected for all displays under Shooting Display Info under the C menu. And I can see from your camera that the histogram remains on screen all the time so you can see clearly the effect of changing any metering parameter.
The other related issue is that the metering scale only seems to appear when in macro mode.
I’m using a GIII recently purchased. Any help would be appreciated!

Try hitting the "disp" button to toggle through the different options. Sounds like you may be in the "simplified" mode - make sure it's standard instead.

@@frederikboving Thanks Frederik, I tried the toggling display previously and it’s on the fullest detail setting with info all around the display. I was even beginning to wonder if this could be related to a recent firmware change where the histogram is tied in to the shutter button rather than remaining permanently on display. Doesn’t make sense though.

I finally figured out what the problem was. For some reason when you select focus peaking it changes the histogram from always showing to only showing when you half-press the shutter button.

It’s so secret even the manual doesn’t know anything about it!
