When defending my self in a real world application, i had a much bigger drunk guy put me in this same choke, i bite him and took a chunk out of him he let go screaming lol Thanks for the Technique!
People underestimate the effectiveness biting and simpler logic. Ie. A lot of chokes can be bypassed by finding soft spots. Their arms are buisy yours usualy are not. Fingers in the eyes, biting, and even using your 2 hands to work on 1 finger often allows enough strength to torque it till its joint is in hellacious pain and they let go. As a smaller dude i deffinatly had to learn to find the soft spots that size don't allow You to protect. I have yet to see a piece of gym equipment strengthen your skin from bites, or eyelids from objects 😊

@@paragon1782 You underestimate the power of biting. Probably not work in guillotin, but in some cases you can do serious damage. How do i know? @@paragon1782 That's what people who put their identity into these sports and particularly the marketing are likely to say because they were drawn to these hobbies on false promises; these moves are supposed to work in a competition, not necessarily self-defense. Many of them do work in self-defense under optimal conditions but not in the way they are marketed to work. Nowadays these guys are getting so uppity and egoistical that they will mock real self-defense instruction and present themselves as survival experts. No, bros, Bear Grylls is a survival expert or some military krav maga guy. Lionel Messi and the Gracies can teach you how to score points in their respective sports. People should take pride in knowing their own lane very well and having accomplishments in that field like a black belt, trophy, being a good coach etc. but sometimes guys get carried away because they bought into the invincibility myth and their masculinity starts to revolve around movie protagonist stuff.
These styles are so focused on competition that they no longer train all the real stuff ( that you can’t do in the ring). Groan strikes, eye gorging and biting should be top of the list in this situation.

You're such an entertainer, coach Brian. Very ludic and instructive, the way it should be every sensei on martial arts, not too heavy and grim like many ones.
The problem I've got with people this size ( we have a few of them where I train) is they can bridge me over quite easily if I land in side control with them and they've got my head controlled or even if I try to von flu them. In this position my head is already on the other side and their chest is so big it elevates my hips making it hard to sprawl. The bridge is so easy for them. I usually try to change sides walking over through north side and posturing to break their grip on my neck but if I try to von flu I end up being reversed. Have you got any tricks to von flu a big guy safely from there coach?
I don’t know anything about grappling , but I know that being on top of a guy that outweighs you by 200 pounds isn’t a good idea. I would try to instantly get up and start raining down hard punches and knees for the streets this is probably best
It *should* but never rely on eliciting a pain response to stop someone. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing. I've been nutshotted, herniated a disc, broken my nose many times, dislocated a finger, etc, etc and not even felt it till ~20 minutes after the fight
Beautiful work. My friend is 450# 6'7" , I am 155,I have learned to appreciate the range of weights and strength. The biggest people have their own issues and they (if their legit) are to be respected and loved because they have literally allot of weight to carry. Love when possible, fight when needed. Stay vigilant.
not enough leverage to overhead slam -- if attempted, it would most likely manifest as a DDT. Which is also very nasty. But regardless, the guy already has you in a guillotine with your feet off the ground. It doesn't hurt to try this defense at that point.
I'm not convinced that you can trip him by hooking your leg. But your previous arm defense is ingenius. Just uppercut with your thumb facing up (so fist rotated) and strike to the balls like you're swinging a cricket ball without bending your arm like in an uppercut so kind of like a pendulum on a clock swinging keep your arm straight and swing it into his balls and he will not take it even if he's on drugs his body will go into shock from the nerves of the diaphragm since the balls are like the liver. If he's damaged his nerve endings from taking so many hits to the balls or diaphragm then yes he may be able to resist your hits but even if he's done that monk style training where his balls are damaged it doesnt mean it wont hurt him enough after many hits to let go if you can stay in that arm defense position. If he's wearing a groin guard then that's stupid because I don't think anyone is going to feel comfortable wearing a 24/7 cup everyday for the rest of their lives in case they get into a street fight.
The big guy needed 3or 4 big Palm shots to the nutts and if he releases strike him to or three crushes to the esophagus then a palm strike to the bridge of the nose following up with kicks to both knees consecutively. You have to be explosive, violent and ruthless if someone is really threatening you . I'm 6'5 275 but I have fought guys that were 6'8 450 with gorrila arms and I can relate to how much smaller you feel most people think it's big guys haven't experienced it but we have. I can't imagine what it would be like in a real life and death situation where the size difference was like you and the big guy and the smaller guy had no training.I think it's great that you are teaching people like this .
Well, you had a big guy put you in a headlock. You can't bite someone from a guillotine, the arm is under you chin.
@@hellseeker-inc9756 if I was guillotining some dude and he bit or tried to gouge my eye out I would probably just hold out for the 6 seconds then kick and stomp his unconscious body until I was bored lol horrible idea to bite or gouge when u are in a inferior position.
@@paragon1782 You underestimate the power of biting. Probably not work in guillotin, but in some cases you can do serious damage.
How do i know? I've had my thigh bitten, my skin was lifted and my flesh was visible. And you really need to stop the guy from biting you in such scenario, and should let him go.
6:07 teach me climbing
Also, coach has a very good Reb Brown scream impression
Also, very good stuff!!!
These styles are so focused on competition that they no longer train all the real stuff ( that you can’t do in the ring). Groan strikes, eye gorging and biting should be top of the list in this situation.
What if they wear groin guards... I use to wear groin guards whenever someone challenges me in a street fight
Don't touch a man's testicles if he's got you neck,he was about to release now he wants to break it
You’re a dumbass and I’m not even going to explain why because dumbasses aren’t capable of understanding simple concepts
Tweedle Dee You seem like a very loud angry young man. You could do with joining a club, it’ll teach you some discipline and how to conduct yourself in public.
Very nice! Seen and worked a lot of guillotine defence but never seen it demonstrated with such a big dude.
That whistle in the background sounds exactly like my motorcycle alarm. About to engage in my martial art, called .45
You can tell this dude is a true coach for the love of coaching.
"Don't pick a fight with a guy like this". Don't tell my jaw what to do.
Hard to watch my mouth when it's placed so far out of range...
@@f_USAF-Lt.G yes.
“Don’t ever pick a fight with a guy that’s big it’s just not worth it” Best advice ever. Should’ve been at the beginning of the video not the end.
Excellent lesson as usual, coach Brian. Who was your jiu jitsu instructor?
One of the best vids I've watched and enjoyed in a while! And it's original! I'm an old fart that's been doing this since 96,and you always bring it fresh AND enjoyable. You've got a gift for teaching coach! Keep em coming!
Ps! More Big Man! There are those of us stuck in purgatory. 200 pounds, big but not big. Gotta be able to handle smaller guys climbing us like a kittie in a curtain, all the way to beasts like your man there! Help🤣🍻
Im 5.4 145. Being my size and rolling around for a few years. All i know is loveridge. And let me tell u what. It works if u work it. Use ur head not ur back.
What is loveridge?
Thank you for this. Really useful breakdown. Will be playing with this 🙏
Shout out to Nick!
You're such an entertainer, coach Brian. Very ludic and instructive, the way it should be every sensei on martial arts, not too heavy and grim like many ones.
renzo gracie showed this. I use it all the time. I am 140LBs :D It works
This was a great video. I didn't expect that. The coach was very nice and not at all narcissistic like most instructors from other videos
Hooking the leg? Firas Zahabi has a video on that topic
I don’t know anything about grappling , but I know that being on top of a guy that outweighs you by 200 pounds isn’t a good idea. I would try to instantly get up and start raining down hard punches and knees for the streets this is probably best
Do you realize that your content is gold? That was the hell of a tip, thanks a lot man! You got a new sub!
Street situation punch or kick in the private bits should be easy way out?
A A in selfdefence u can even do eye poke
@falchulk not if he is in this choke.
@falchulk As soon as he lets go, Im going for the eyes or nose and then an avenue to run.
It *should* but never rely on eliciting a pain response to stop someone. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing. I've been nutshotted, herniated a disc, broken my nose many times, dislocated a finger, etc, etc and not even felt it till ~20 minutes after the fight
Wouldn't recommend it. If they can last for 6 seconds with the adrenaline then they can kill you once ur unconscious
Coach Brian I frickin love you man
Your like the highest level of coach possible
That's great until the big guy holds onto you, runs forward and slams your back into something.
John Davis how most fatasses have to much fat covering their dicks 😂😂
yeah you're at a disadvantage when the guy has 200 lbs on you :D
That means either you shoot your technique,
Or whip out the gun and prepare for the court proceedings.
Or backs up and spreads his legs out putting all his weight on you, forcing you face first into the ground...
i can see that Brian was talking while is was passing out. see his eyes. he was feeling like why am i doing this. such a commitment guys
2:38 Khabib managed to escape one :)
Your Friend Is Big But Not Strong That's a Whole New Conversation Buddy, What Can You Do Against a 6'7 475 Guy That Can Deadlift Over 1000 lbs?
FYI if you try this you will get over head slammed backwards
and then flipped over and choked out further if not already dead
not enough leverage to overhead slam -- if attempted, it would most likely manifest as a DDT. Which is also very nasty. But regardless, the guy already has you in a guillotine with your feet off the ground. It doesn't hurt to try this defense at that point.
That is a beautiful technique agaisnt a bigger guy. Im saving this video. Thanks man.
I have a simpler technique... I just play dead and hope he goes away.
Kaku Kaioh approves
holy shite, Brian, dude, don't do it again! We still need you! OMG the lift-off of the floor in the beginning! 😱🤯🤣🤣🤣
That's just mad!
THISSS is the way to show and teach a self defense to offense video
thanks
Sure he's big... But his chin is the same size as everyone elses.
Try reach his jaw then. By the time u try reach his jaw. He"ll smack you down so hard ur underwear will fall down too

Dude, I learn so much from you. Thank you for posting these videos.
Coach, you are a very dangerous man. Thank you for your teachings
This is one of the best grappling videos I've seen yet 😂😂😂 I love it
"You're STILL talking Bryan" 😆 This channel is awesome🙇♂️🤙🏽
Oh wow that big man take down was dope 👏
I appreciate this video so much as there's so many big guys in my gym.
Very good technique. I just learned something new. Makes me wanna do some training for self defense.
Wow, thank you so much for this. Not that I need it, but I love creative answers to fighting problems like this
Just found this channel, it is excellent I subscribed. Are you guys more BJJ or wrestling or a mixture?
Definitely a mix of both!
Nice! This is actually out of the original Gracie self defense curriculum great stuff
Awesome job. Great y'all still like a great bunch.
My goodness this is incredible information. Thanks
100k of subs! Congratulations. Appreciate your content. Stay the way you are ... next stop 1 million :)
Very simple and to the point! Thanks for sharing
funny, handsome, smart and gentle, but wild + tough. Good martial artist! Respect!
Just the intro has me fucking laughing and all of your videos are so informative, great content
White belt 101 move . This is a great move that every white belt should know. Learn this from Royce when I was a white belt. Good stuff.
Interesting and hilarious.
At 6'7" it gives me some things to think about avoiding.
Brian is so sound. He gave some time and focus teaching the big guy at the end too. Great channel.
Awesome! Coach with a good sense of humor.
I had my first jujitsu class last night. And where I had respect for these guys before, I now have more respect than I imagined.
A happy Monday morning find. Thanks!
We are so thankful yours tutorial videos,
It is so useful
First time seeing one of your videos and ive already subscribed buddy. Your very good at explaining your technique.
