When i turned 16 i always wanted a chain or necklace because a lot of people in my school wears chains, the most popular chain i seen almost everyone wear is a silver cuban link or curb link. I told my Dad i wanted a chain for my birthday because the current necklace i have is turning my neck green, when my birthday came up my dad bought a silver chain with a cross and said "I worked hard to get you this, Happy Birthday my Son." I am currently 21 years old rn and still wearing it rn, i love this chain because it was something everyone didn't have, since it had a religous cross pendant i mostly wore it under my shirt but people still notice them and complimented it. A lot of my classmates and some family members always wanted my chain because they said it was unique and mysterious since i always wore it in my shirt. Thank you to my Dad for getting me what i always wanted, and Thank you for this video sir💯❤️

I bought one cross from James Avery from your local Dillard's and it's pretty interesting looking if i say so myself. But yeah that sounds cool. I bought mine with my money. Tired of steel and fake silvers. Sterling silver is about the lowest id go. And the coolest chain my dad bought me is from John Hardy.

I believe the old saying, "Less is more" applies here. When I was in my mid thirties, and working as a bartender, I wore a simple gold chain. Thirty some years later, no necklaces, no earrings, no tattoos, or hair pieces. 🙂 My everyday wear consists of a decent watch, and a silver or black Sabona bracelet. A lot of this depends on where you live, the company you keep, and not trying to compensate for anything.
For the guys who can do it, I say "more power to you, and enjoy"! Thanks Antonio!

I occasionally wear a thin black Cuban link and a thicker silver viking chain, both of which I've adjusted to roughly princess length. Barely visible with my button down shirt open to the third button, but subtly noticeable. Complimentary to my plain black and silver rings.
As a fellow veteran, I've been wanting one of your challenge coins for a while, I hope you see this comment and are feeling generous. lol
Thanks for all of your advice, Antonio!

I've had this 22 inch whitegold chain with a cross pendant that I've worn for almost 10 years. The spring on the lock always gets broken. So I'm thinking of switching to a thick 24+ inch silver chain, so I can just pass it right through my head. I've been searching for one with cuban chain or has a unique chain.
Maybe I'll also try a princess lenght with thinner curved chain for everyday style.
Silver looks well with black clothes and depending on the chain and length can look good with casual and formal attire.
I'm also searching for a cross with a unique design.

Great stuff as usual Antonio. I wear a dog-tag on a beaded chain made by Road ID, which is a cyclist oriented company. In the event you crash your medical info and people you want to have called are etched on the plate per your design. They also make bracelets with the same vibe. That dog tag saved my life when one morning getting out of the shower I had a brain aneurism...a stroke where a blood vessel in your brain blows up. I was somehow able to call 911 and when the guys got there I was barely conscious and in an unbelievable amount of pain. I was able to say "my dog-tag with my medical info is in a tray on my dresser". Now I wear it every day and it does have a cool military look that I love.

Question: with a shirt like yours in this video, button down with a collar, and you have a chain you want to be seen, could/would you wear it outside the shirt, maybe under the collar so the chain is hanging onto your chest, or only around your neck inside the collar and hanging out? Does that question make sense?

I am accessory guy, love to wear bracelets, chains and rings.
From my POV and particular taste, a chain with a pendant is much better compared to a single chain. The pendant adds uniqueness, plus, it will draw more attention vs the chain that yeah, it could be more appealing for those looking a simple style, but honestly, it looks too common nowadays.

😲 GOOD ADVICE!….For most of my life, outside of a wristwatch or tie clip, I wasn’t much of a jewelry person. I didn’t even buy and wear a class ring after my high school and college graduations. Besides that, I had an old pendant that I occasionally wore for casual dress occasions but that was all.
Being from The Boomer Generation, I will admit that gender identity played a large part in that perception. Nowadays, it seems that ‘ all the rules are broken ’ regarding who can wear various types of fashion and jewelry. For better or worse, modern society has continually become less formal regarding dressing for most occasions. In today’s era, what used to seem like semi-casual attire often appears formal at mainstream events. That being said, I still believe in wearers making their jewelry selection(s) reflect their own character and personal style. Therefore, if you’re going to wear It then ‘ own it ‘ .

On the Catholic items mentioned. Scapulars are technically not necklaces, they're an article of clothing. You have to be careful with wearing a Rosary, in many parts if the US it's a symbol of gang affiliation, and non-Catholics wearing a rosary is very much frowned upon. Catholics have very strong opinions on wearing rosaries because they're not a piece of jewelry, they're a sacramental. In general, Catholics from a European culture are more likely to say that you should never wear a rosary. Whereas Catholics from Central and South America are very much in favor as a way to keep the rosary on them and as a reminder to pray. Regardless of culture, medals depicting The Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mary, and the Saints are very popular. Most commonly you'll see the Miraculous Medal. There are also scapular medals like the 5-way medal or ones specifically worn by members of Lay Religious orders. I wear one depicting St. Dominic on the front, and the Queen of the Most Holy Rosary on the back.

Like some nerdy people will wear openly nerdy stuff like out of place jackets and coats or weird out there accessories; I feel like I can't pull that off like I don't have the confidence. So I wear small things to remind myself of the things I love and maybe even attract conversation about something I find intresting. I usually wear a thin silver or stainless steel necklace, with a pendant on it. I have a gold one but i dont like how gold looks on me. I think thick necklaces look cheap and idiotic and make a man look like a wannabe.

David Bowie said he wore his necklace with a cross for superstitious not religious purposes.

How does one wear a Christian cross as a sign of identity and belonging if you are not Christian? In this case it is neither identity nor belonging, rather reducing the cross to a mere fashion accessory 😕.

    I disagree.
I am an adult man from the United States midwest. Jewelry is for women. (and I don't think it makes them more attractive either. I never thought anyone was more or less attractive based on some pieces of jewelry)
Just try to be a decent person. Wear what makes you comfortable.
I grew up on a farm in a small town and played sports. For me, wearing jewelry would be as cool as wearing a pink dress.
If your value system says you are cooler because you have diamond bracelets and rings and chains... then I feel bad for your value system.
Your value system should consider valuing things that actually have value to you, your life, and your loved ones.

The only necklace on a man should be one that holds a medal 🏅 at an awards ceremony; it is then promptly stored in a display case at the home office.

Unless you're a chick there's no way to wear a necklace without looking like a Jersey Shore guido. Blame MTV.

Imagine having the name “Guarneschelli” as an 18 year old in high school when that show blew up in popularity… haha. I resented that show so badly, knowing every time it came up during school that people were thinking of me 🙄… 😭
