  • For my upcoming big trip I decided to upgrade my tent for a freestanding one that is quick to set up and pack away.

I have the 1P version and also use it for motorcycle adventures. I just did 6 states here in the US over 2 and a half weeks and camped in the Marmot most nights. I've never had a problem with it, really good tent except I did have to return the first one years ago as the mesh was loose. Interesting you pitched this (excuse the pun) as freestanding without the need for stakes, I found the 1P a bit unstable for that even in a moderate breeze. The sack they provide is weird - it's unnecessarily long for those poles. But here's what worked out well for me - My tent and inflatable camping pillow fit perfectly into the sleeping bag sack (Marmot Nanowave 35), which was too generous for the sleeping bag, which fit snugly into the sleeping pad sack (Thermarest that has memory foam and also needs air), which was too tight for the sleeping pad. The sleeping pad fit into the Marmot Tungsten sack (full width, not folded in half) when rolled up around the tent poles. Funny how it worked out that way. I hope you're enjoying your motorbike adventures!

I've bought 2 Tungstens. It's a modified dome. 2000mm floor, 1200mm fly. These don't leak. Decent wind resistance for a 2 pole dome. When these came out, there was a lot of nice buzz about the pre-bent poles. I look for value. These go on sale often and are a good deal then.

I have an older tent like this. The connection where the poles cross can come apart. If this happens it will push back together just make sure the tent poles are not in it. With mine once it came apart once it was more prone to to so again. So when setting it up try to not put any twisting torque on it.

This tent has had a lot of use and abuse in the past 6 months. Everything is holding up great 👍

Thanks for the video. I got this tent from my mother as I am not allowed to live with her anymore. I have never used a rent and did not no how to set it up. Now I will figure out where to put it.

Do you have any place that you have found best for people not going to bother you or harass you?

Tent looks a treat, hopefully the weather will be good for you and no need for the fly

I hope so too, but definitely think I will need it with this unpredictable weather lol
