In contrast to the rule allowing right turns on red in the USA, Germany follows a different approach, particularly when encountering a Grüne Pfeil at an intersection with a bike lane. It's crucial to understand that in this scenario, cyclists in the bike lane hold the right of way. Even if you have the Grüne Pfeil permitting you to turn right at a red light, you must yield to any cyclists in the bike lane. This entails waiting for cyclists to pass before proceeding with your turn. Additionally, it's important to note that standing, parking, or stopping for traffic in a bike lane is strictly prohibited in Germany. Bike lanes are exclusively designated for cyclists, and obstructing them with a vehicle, parked or stopped, as it poses safety risks and inconvenience to cyclists, is forbidden. If you encounter a situation where you need to yield to a cyclist while waiting to turn right at an intersection, it's essential not to stop your vehicle in the bike lane. Instead, wait behind the bike lane, either within the regular traffic lane or in a designated waiting area for turning vehicles, if available. This ensures that cyclists can continue using the bike lane unobstructed and minimizes the risk of potential collisions.

Okay so the vast majority of comments I've read are people complaining about pulling out into the crosswalk while executing a right turn on a red light: In the US, the stop line for all lanes (at least in my 20 years of observation) is right up against the crosswalk or with only a foot or two of separation. There are some instances like in my downtown as of a few summers ago where the left turn (crossing) lane is actually pulled back a half a car length so other vehicles performing a left turn into your oncoming lane can make a smoother turn. Since vehicles are right up against the crosswalk, yielding and pulling into the crosswalk is often required in order to execute a right turn on red as the view of traffic is partly or entirely obstructed by vehicles going straight if you're behind the crosswalk. This is especially pertinent in my little coupe when it seems like everybody else in town drives trucks or giant yet empty SUVs. Its /egregious/ when people going straight choose to slow roll into the crosswalk while waiting for their light to turn green, and that's the point where I just lay on the breaks, even if I'm blocking the entire crosswalk, it's just not safe for me anymore. Unless illegal where prohibited by posted signage or state / local / construction laws, perfectly legal and something you'd see alot of here in the US.

I don’t trust that kind of thing it is cool though
Wasn’t the light red ??
Taking a right on red is legal in all states of the US as long as you stop and yield to passing traffic. It improves the flow of traffic.
@@bellezzaza damn that’s pretty cool
@@EmmysVerySeriousVideos it’s great for traffic flow but bad for pedestrian safety so it causes more problems then it solves
@@itsacrimetorhyme It definitly solves more problems than it creates. In dense city, probably bad. The rest of the US good as hell, unsurprisingly there are a lot of roads where there is little to no pedestrian traffic.
@@rainydaygamer8431 i think I agree, dense cities are in essence terrible for pedestrian safety for so many reasons other than turning right on a red light
Unfortunately this is considered illegal in many countries. The video failed to inform the viewers
Who cares, it's a video in America, he doesn't need to acknowledge every country's laws
Dont forget to update the software for export it is forbiden to turn on the red light in many countries.
But its red
Some states allow you to turn right on red.
Beautiful
Okay so the vast majority of comments I've read are people complaining about pulling out into the crosswalk while executing a right turn on a red light:
In the US, the stop line for all lanes (at least in my 20 years of observation) is right up against the crosswalk or with only a foot or two of separation.
Seem okay to me
Does it make sure someone isn't going across the crosswalk?
Yes, it always waits for pedestrians
Jesus there were easily 4 opportunities for you to go if you had just been driving yourself. Drive your own car.

@@thedragonhunter isn't it legal as long as someone ain't walking on it?? Plus if someone was then it wouldn't have creep
