I was pregnant with my 2 daughter and found out that my hcg wasn't increasing at the rate it should have been and the ob/gyn also said she couldn't see anything on ultrasound. She was going to give me medication to induce a miscarriage. I was devastated! I found a new doctor who said he couldn't guarantee that I'd complete this pregnancy, he would do what he could to help save it. He put me on progesterone and it helped my daughter be able to thrive and grow. She is now 21 and fiesty as could be!

I had a doctor who dismissed my suggestions of progestrone supplements when they told me I was going to have a miscarriage. I'm 40 overall healthy and the doctor basically implied with age miscarriages are normal. Every day I wonder had they given the progestrone would I be pregnant. I switched doctors and am confident I will have a successful pregnancy.

My first pregnancy was a biochemical miscarriage & I was 6 weeks along & started bleeding. I cannot tell you how saddening it was, let alone having a few congratulation baby gifts I just sat there & cried over. I ended up having 2 healthy pregnancies thereafter (thank God) & now my boys are 18 & 20.

Thank you for explaining the different types of miscarriage. I had 3 miscarriages prior to one successful pregnancy and 3 miscarriages after our son. My husband cried and told me he couldn't do it to me anymore. We've been blessed with the son we had. He's a grown man now and we couldn't be prouder.

After I had my daughter, my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies were both missed miscarriages. Both pregnancies made it to 6 weeks but never developed a heart beat. I had a d&c both times at 12 weeks as my body never naturally miscarried. I had no idea what to do, get tested? Go to a fertility clinic? This was considered recurrent miscarriage.
Luckily I fall pregnant very easily so we decided to give it one more try. I fell pregnant again and got morning sickness the day after I got a positive result. I walked into my ultrasound appointment knowing the scan would go well because the baby was meant to join us now. He is now 5 months old, our little double rainbow baby ❤

We lost three babies, Our 2nd pregnancy was a stillbirth at 30 weeks. That was hell. Not considered a miscarriage due to being so late in the pregnancy, but the loss of our son devastated us. Our 6th pregnancy was an ectopic pregnancy, which ruptured, causing me to lose my Fallopian tube. Our 7th pregnancy was a regular miscarriage at 12 weeks. Just weeks after that miscarriage, my husband died suddenly and my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer right after he died, so that time was a shell-shocked blur which started a long grief journey for my children and myself.

We had problems getting pregnant, then started tracking things for our fertility doctor. This was in the 80's. Seven early miscariages. Then a late miscariage. All the same reason as far as we could tell at the time. Finally we got the right hormone routine (I hated those injections) and ended up with a live birth (now an adult). People did not understand back then. Thank you for an excellent video.

I had a miscarriage last year at 3-4 weeks. Went to a hospital where they confirmed the pregnancy with a blood test, lost it that same night. A few days later i went to another hospital where they confirmed the miscarriage, but the nurse who gave me the news said “Oh, are you sad about it? But you probably weren’t even pregnant, it was just a bad period” It crushed me. I was very young and the pregnancy was a surprise, but i certainly didn’t wanted to lose it. Now i just found out i’m pregnant again at 5 weeks, hoping everything goes well this time 💗

Thank you for all the information. I had three consecutive miscarriages between 1983 - 1985. We went for a consult at Medical Genetics where we were told I have mosacism due to chromosomes. My last pregnancy in 1987 ended in a miscarriage. I did give birth to two wonderful children. Of the 5 miscarriages one of them was twins.

    • @misspat7555
      @misspat7555 4 месяца назад +2

Are you referring to mosaic trisomy 21? It’s a condition that deserves to be better known; a sign is repeated pregnancies with full trisomy 21 (Down’s Syndrome); also, the person with mosaic trisomy 21 may have some of the signs of full trisomy 21. ❤

    • @sheilapurcell3789
      @sheilapurcell3789 4 месяца назад +2

No it wasn't trisomy the doctor said it was mosacism. He said if we tried for another child they could have webbed fingers, toes, and would have medical issues. Apparently the fact that I didn't have 46 chromosomes was the reason I had so many miscarriages.

I was due to have my 1st scan with my 4th pregnancy . But I started bleeding and was put on two weeks bed rest. After the two weeks bed rest, I was told to do a pregnancy test , if it was still positive I was to re book my 1st scan. I was so sure my test would be negative as I had, had such a heavy bleed, along with cramps ect.
My pregnancy test was still positive, so I booked the scan.
I was still pregnant and was told I was probably pregnant with twins. Obviously they weren't identical, as if they were the case. I would have lost both.
I thank God as this was my miracle baby... As he was breech and had the cord around his neck 3 times along with not breathing after delivery. But he is a wonderful young man. He's 30yrs old now.
God bless you all. Don't lose hope.

Your video made me feel less crazy and that my baby existed and my baby mattered. I feel better knowing what happened to us has a name and that brings me so much peace.
    Thank you so much
My story of my biochemical miscarriage.
I took a home pregnancy test in February of 2024. My boyfriend and I both fight infertility so we weren't expecting anything. It was even his idea to do a pregnancy test. I was super moody and my breasts were getting swollen and tender. I took the test and waited for him to come home for lunch and we were not expecting anything. We both saw double lines and got so excited! We found a lab that could do a blood test and we went and waited for the results. It showed that my hormone levels were low but to follow-up with a doctor. I tested at home again and the lines kept fading until I started my period. I was so devastated and broken. By doing the math by day of conception I was about 6 weeks when my miscarriage happened. I felt robbed of my happiness and that our baby "didn't count"
Our baby mattered and our baby counts. I tested on Valentine's Day and kept my test in a heart shaped candy box (Running joke in the house because I have a bicornuate uterus and my favourite song by Nirvana is Heart Shaped Box)
That weekend that we had our baby was so beautiful. My boyfriend talked to my tummy and reassured me that we beat the odds and our baby is going to be perfect and beautiful.
We are very hopeful still and now with this bit of encouragement we know we have a chance.

My miscarriage happened at almost 6 months. Dr could not find a heart beat just before my six months gestation. We had to wait until I had a
I spontaneous miscarriage (This was in 1958) when it happened I was in the emergency room in the hospital. That is when we found out I was carrying twins. The sad part was the babies were starting to decompose, which I was forced to carry two deceased babies in my body for almost a month. Thank God the sack did not burst and release the fluid in my body, possibly causing septicemia. I cold have died leaving two children and m husband. Now they can do a scan to see what is going on inside.

I'm 43, we had been trying, I had dreadful nausea and tiredness, at 8 weeks, we had a scan, sonographer said there was a strong heart beat and where it had implanted was a good location. We were so happy. I thought the nausea was lessening and things were improving. Four days ago the scan showed no heart beat, the fetus looked practically the same as at 8 weeks. Its hard and I am sad.I dont know if we should try again immediately due to my age, or wait for one period. I thought we were the luckiest couple in the world.

I had 6 miscarriages (as far along as 4 months) between our daughter and our two sons. Spent every pregnancy terrified bc I had all day/night "morning sickness" but if it stopped for even a day, I would miscarry that baby within 24-48 hours! Every single time! I lost 40lbs with my youngest child.
When I was taken in to have him as a planned c-section, the OB and my primary sat my husband down and told him he needed to sign to have my tubes tied!!! They said they knew we wanted a larger family but they told him I wouldn't survive another pregnancy! We live in Kansas. Even in 2024, your husband must consent or he can sign even if you don't know and it is done!!! I did not know I was sterilized at age 23 until 2 days later when it was given to me as part of my dismissal instructions by the nursing staff! It's been 22 years and 3 days since my ability to have a baby was taken away. Still have the most God awful cramps and severe bleeding every 28 days like clockwork. If they were going to take babies away the A$shol€s could've at least taken the uterus too! But, I was "too young for a hysterectomy, it was medically necessary". 😢

I had a 36 week pregnancy that I spotted monthly and a 38 month pregnancy that tried to end itself from 13 weeks on that landed me on hospital bedrest with a pulmonary embolism.

I had 4 missed miscarriages and 1 cornual ectopic pregnancy between 2008-2013. 3 of those 5 pregnancies were achieved through fertility treatments. In 3 of my miscarriages testing was done and there were no chromosomal issues found. After seeing a reproductive immunologist it was determined I would likely never carry to term due to immunological issues. I was never able to have biological children but I do have a child through adoption and I wouldn’t change a thing. Even when a healthy pregnancy is never achieved there is still hope.

I've had this video on my watch later list for awhile. I was curious, but scared to watch. I've had two chemical pregnancies at 4 weeks. I've just felt like it was my fault and then I started feeling like my pain didn't matter. It wasn't to the point for a D&C or anything.
Thank you for making me feel validated and help me know it wasn't my fault. I have just felt like those pregnancies didn't matter and that they didn't need me to mourn them. But now I'm able to cry and think about the positives of knowing about them. ❤

Thank you so much for this video. I had 2 clinical early miscarriages and 1 biochemical pregnancy. I'm currently undergoing IVF, and the furthest we got is a FET cycle that had to be converted to a mock transfer because my endometrium wasn't getting thick enough. That's where we are now. But when I had my chemical, my doctor gaslit me telling me she "didn't think it was a chemical", even though I got a positive Clear Blue digital pregnancy test and the same symptoms I had in my first 2 clinical losses! She said that because by the time I got an HCG test in her office the next day, it was down to zero already. But just like the first 2, my period took months to come back, and she maintained her opinion that it wasn't a chemical! I felt so not listened to and devastated! So thank you for confirming I'm not crazy and that she was wrong!!! ❤

I had several miscarriages. Mine were all early. I wasn't for sure I was even pregnant until I had cramps and pain and passed the embryo and placenta. I did carry 4 pregnancies to term. My issues were always in the first trimester. 6-8 weeks. So, life does go on and a full term pregnancy is possible in the future.

Thank you for your videos. They give me so much info and hope.
I’ve had 3 biochemical pregnancies, experienced painful miscarriages before I even know I was expecting. I’ve also had one missed carriage at 9 weeks and one miscarriage where my body completely passed the pregnancy at 9 weeks. The latter two we had ultrasounds and had heartbeats just the week before the loss, but they were slow, and measuring small.
So I’ve been pregnant 6 times, and only have one child. 😞 it’s hard for me. But I’m going through IVF and I have one great quality genetically normal embryo. Still remaining hopeful, it only takes one!! ☺️

I started spotting and bleeding at 6 weeks, days after my first scan with a perfect heartbeat. The doctor at the ER was kind of rude and said she couldn't stop a possible miscarriage. But she found a heartbeat.telling me, there was still "another one left".
I still do not know what caused the bleeding, but continued to have a healthy pregnancy with a now 16year old.

My first pregnancy was a missed miscarriage. I was actively trying to get pregnant, so I knew pretty early on and it was confirmed with blood work and a pregnancy test. I went in for my 10 week check up and they told me they didnt see a heartbeat and that things has stopped progressing around 6 weeks. I was devestated, for over a month I had no idea, it was not until the day before the appointment that I had some spotting, but nothing like I would expect from a miscarriage. I ended up having to get a DnC as it was suggested by the doctor in order to help me recover faster and not go septic. That was in July and then in November I concieved my daughter, my rainbow baby.

my mom had like, 2 separate miscarriages where she said she didn't know she was pregnant (she had severe endometriosis, so she had a lot of funky hormonal symptoms, abdominal distention and irregular periods anyway), but claimed she saw the fetus and that it "looked like a jellybean." it didn't seem to bother her but ever since she told me that i've had recurring nightmares about having a bean-sized fetus slide out of me while going to the bathroom. it would be so disconcerting to just see that with no forewarning whatsoever that it was even there to begin with

I've been on my TTC journey for about 3 years and I really thought I was successful thus cycle but never tested because I don't like getting my hopes up. Then I got my period on Sat Jul 27 but it was heavier than normal and I've had lingering cramping even though the period is gone. I wish I lived in a country where pregnancies are taken seriously, because honestly I feel like they aren't here in Norway. When I was pregnant with my second child, I had some bleeding around 10 weeks. Here in Norway, the public health care doesn't provide ultrasounds on early stages of pregnancy, so I thought everything was fine until that bleeding. I called the doctor and they said "you are most likely miscarrying, and there is nothing we can do. You can go to work if you want, or choose to take the day off". I was in shock. I stayed at home and tried to rest, but ended up losing the baby at home the next day. When I got pregnant again after that, I felt right away that something wasn't right and looked for a private doctor. It was around 6 weeks and she saw no heartbeat on ultrasound. I came back one week after, and there was still nothing, and the baby hadn't grown anything. We even got a second opinion who agreed there was nothing else to be done. So I lost that baby too. I asked for help finding out what happened, and both public and private doctors said they do not research causes before the third loss. They just say it was probably chromosomes and that's it. Now I'm pregnant again, 15 weeks and 3 days. I am relieved I am done with the first trimester, but I am still anxious, since I don't know what caused my two miscarriages after one healthy pregnancy (my oldest is 3 now).

I've had a biochemical miscarriage, a healthy baby, then a clinical miscarriage at 11.5 weeks. Really struggling with feeling like it's my fault. I need to be "fixed". This is all combined with anger at the idea that I need to be fixed because I'm young (22), healthy (not overweight, no health problems, regular and fertile, eat healthy, etc), and I've had a successful pregnancy (besides morning sickness, I was perfectly healthy during pregnancy, delivery, postpartum, and breastfeeding. I read the symptoms of problems that cause miscarriage and it makes me so angry. I have no symptoms of problems! I'm really hoping that the placental pathology will bring me peace because I just don't even know where to start to try and figure out why. I get so many suggestions from expensive tests, supplements, and life style changes. I just want to enjoy being a mom again

Good summary. I've had every category except septic, thanks to a complete uterine septum, which, I guess, was an example of "being broken." My advice would be to check your anatomy early in the process. Be suspicious. I had so many ultrasounds, and my clinician never really _saw_ that I had two endometrial stripes until I had an HSG following a devastating miscarriage at 19 weeks. The delay cost us 4 years and lots of miscarriages.

Was 8 weeks pregnant, had heartbeat and everything was going fine. Suddenly I started to bleed, started with mild spotting and cramps little similar to periods. Asked my doc she told use a pad and see the color of spotting and told me to check every 30 minutes. 4 hours it was mild spotting to bleeding. When we went to visit around 10 at night they checked in scan and they showed me the baby and clear heartbeat and while doing the process there was very less spotting. So we went home and around 2 in the morning I woke up with pain similar to periods and bleeding increased and color was bright red. Tried to sleep with the pain but suddenly I felt pain similar to contractions like pain was going from 1 to 100 and then 100 to 1 and then vice versa. Knew something was wrong so when I went to washroom the sac or fetus came out, was like white gel ball surrounded by little blood, pain was still there but not like contractions. Had to go to hospital again 4 in the morning for emergency room and doc said I had miscarriage. Showed the picture so she confirmed it was it. Can you please shed some light.

I'm sorry you are going through this stressful time. Others might judge or not understand. Not me. I was you 38 yrs ago. Accidentally pregnant because we weren't careful (Dr told me after that if you aren't taking steps to NOT get pregnant, you are actively trying to get pregnant). Not even considered the possible connection when we had 2 super drunken nights before I knew I was pregnant. In the 80s,things were old school and ultrasounds weren't common. When I missed my period, I took a urine sample to the pharmacy (no at home tests) for the 2 hr lab test to see if I was pregnant. The guy said to me, the weirdest thing:"wellllll, your test was not positive BUT it wasn't negative either". Huh?? He continued with "I'm going to guess negative". Oh.. Ok 😢. So called the ob and got in for a blood test that day and yes I was pregnant. That's when the partying worries come in. That's all I could think of. When I saw ob a month later, he said "haven't you ever seen old movies where everyone drinks and smokes, even pregnant? We didn't know better". All those babies from real moms came out fine. Just don't worry, that's more dangerous". Luckily I didn't know that her father had a cocaine addiction. I just found that out last year. I was mad he didn't tell me when I was pregnant, maybe I would have ended the pregnancy from fear. I told my daughter this and she pointed out that if he had told me, I terminated, she wouldn't be here! Omg just the thought! I raised her alone and she's never met her father. She's perfect 😉. 2 uni degrees, high level career, one man for 20 yrs and they have 2 daughters. They also provide me with a free 2 bdrm apartment in their giant house. Please don't worry. I'm 90% sure the doxycyclen is safe in preg. The drinks, remember I am you, it wasn't the smartest move but we did it, now what? I think it will be fine. Of course the whole pregnancy thing out of the blue makes us add so much guilt to an odd situation. I also smoked 3 packs a day and lived on Coke, the drink. She was perfect, calm, slept through the night from 7 weeks, did her homework, honors every year. Presidents and Dean's list in uni. This finally proved to me that it was time to stop feeling like the worst mom in the world. So I did. I have 2 granddaughters I want to see grow up healthy so I'm very different now. I'm old too 🤣. Big Nana hugs for you.

A very close friend of mine had a missed miscarriage but she hasn’t actually given birth to baby - yet. Baby stopped growing around 9 weeks it’s been 12-13 weeks now and baby is still there. She had some laboring on and off and some of baby was born, but the majority is still there.
For her own reasons she doesn’t want medical intervention *until or *unless she starts to become ill (she’s being monitored weekly), her hormone levels are dropping very very slowly. She’s found it extremely difficult to find stories and experiences of women who have had similar experiences.

I had 3 miscarriages, all between 6-10 weeks. I also had a blighted ovum. I have not been able to carry a pregnancy to term. I was a dependent at Camp Lejeune North Carolina - a Marine Corps/ Navy base, that was the site of widespread water contamination. The toxins have been linked to miscarriages and several illnesses, and there is now a lawsuit in process. Employees at dry cleaners, agriculture, and other jobs can be exposed to dioxins, forever chemicals, etc. that contribute to miscarriage. Endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and hormone imbalance can also cause miscarriage - though not always.

After a couple of days of bleeding and contraction like pains, something came away that i can only describe as looking like the neck part you sometimes get in turkey giblets, it was terrifying and i told no one apart from my boyfriend.
Thinking about it now i was so foolish, I should have told my GP and possibly had antibiotics or other treatment.

When I was 16, my bf and I got pregnant. My period was late by about a week and I kept postponing the pregnancy test because I didn't want to be disappointed. The night I decided I would finally take a test, my period started. I was a little disappointed but whatever. But then I had the WORST "PERIOD" I've even had in my life. I had the worst cramps of my life, I had long and larger than normal blood clots that kept flowing, not like drips, but a chucky and somewhat congested sorta flow. I just sat in the shower and bled for that first hour or so, crying in a fetal position. I was devastated and alone. It was hard for me to acknowledge my baby in front of others because I've never heard of a term or story for a miscarriage like mine. I would even debate with myself at times, but I was there. I felt my body change and my heart break in real time. About 7 years later, I named my baby and created a rainbow bracelet in his honor. I have never gotten pregnant again to my knowledge and I'm 31 now. I'm honestly scared for so many reasons, but I'm not saying never.
Thank you for everything you've shared. ❤

It happened to me too at 10weeks, after intercourse i was bleeding and i spent the night in hospital because of high bleeding i almost died, and i couldn't stop blaming myself for staying silent while i was in pain during intercourse. Now i'm pregnant first month and i'm not giving more than a kiss😊

Thank you. I didn't know that the positive test meant there was implantation. I thought it just meant sperm and egg had joined. Also, I didn't have a word for biochemical miscarriage. I wasn't sure I could call what happened miscarriages. I've been told I'm exaggerating to call it that. Thank you for the information and validation.

What happened with my second child was I made an appointment with the obstetrician because I had a positive urine test and then that morning I thought I had had my period but they told me to go ahead and come in and they did ultrasound and the baby was still there. So every week I had to come in for that type of ultrasound and every month I bled like I was having a period for six months and then the last three months it stopped talk about up and down roller coaster.

I was pregnant with my second child and at 7 weeks I started bleeding. I saw my obgyn and he said I was pregnant but something was not right. I had to do an ultrasound and then I peed that 7 week baby fell in the toilet and I felt it would of been gross to put my hand in the toilet water. I came out of the bathroom and told my husband. That was 33 years ago I have felt guilt from flushing the toilet then my husband just told me God has a better plan for that baby. I could not have anymore children after that for God to me to take care of my son no more. So I have been blessed with my son and some day I will see my second child in heaven.

Out of my 20 yrs trying and waiting to get pregnant had to 1…1 biochemical and only had 2 drs out of many to take that seriously. Till this day I remeber 12/9/2018. I had been having massive symptoms for a couple weeks absolutly not myself. Took a test and after a few minute it was clear BFP. I absolutely taken aback. It was the weekend so told my self will test again couple days. Well sure enough second test negative went started bleeding that day couple days early. I cried so hard. Out of 20 yrs fertility struggle I have 2 other times in sure I was but never could catch in bloodwork or ultrasound 😢

My 3rd (at 16wks carried until 18 wks) and 5th ( at 24wks carried until 25 wks) pregnancies were missed miscarriages or that’s what my doctors told me, my 6th (13wks), 8th (10wks), 9th (9wks) and 10th (12wks) pregnancies ended in miscarriages also. One of the most heartbreaking experiences parents can have ❤ love to all with angel babies

According to this I have had two. I had a biochemical one and my doctor told me it was my thyroid and scheduled me to go see a specialist. I did not go because I know I had a positive pregnancy test. This would have been my 5th pregnancy. I also had one when I was pregnant for the third time. But when I went to the ER they saw a baby and gave no explanation of the bleeding, cramping and mass that I passed that morning.

We have had 3 chemical miscarriages. What does that mean and why does one have recurrent chemical Miscarriages? It has made me and my husband extremely sad and scared of trying to conceive again and since our last one in April we haven't successfully gotten pregnant again... 😢 I am obese my bmi 38. But I have a almost a 10 year old from a previous relationship and I got pregnant with him while I had a high bmi and was obese that time too. But now after a third recurrent chemical miscarriage we aren't having any luck in getting pregnant. My age is getting older and I am stressing out since it is our biggest dream to have a baby together. 😭😭 What can we do?

My first miscarriage 2022, was after an IVF conception. The ultrasound showed embryo was not growing well (reading 5days late)...and I lost it in the 5th week after embryo transfer.
My 2nd was also from an IVF concenption, lost it 10days after embryo transfer.
My 3rd was natural conception, I lost it in the 6th week from LMP date....
Now I am 14wks pregnant, natural conception...and I am really praying this one is here to stay. I am 42yrs old....and I am considering having a cercilage, I do not know if it is compulsory to have it....

I had one done with my 2nd pregnancy after my first was born at 26wks. And passed away. It made my labor hell, I ended up in labor for 36 hours and got bad infection from water breaking but a delay in being able to dialate. If possible try ur best to keep things natural as possible. It made me last labor great, I have a healthy happy 3.5 year old

@@amandafields3723oh I see.....Well the consultant I am seeing now, tells me I might not need it; he is sure the previous losses had nothing to do with my cervix; and encourages me to really have lots and lots of rest, no sex for now till the pregnancy advances more...I think it is so that nothing irritates my inside maybe! But I am going to have a C- section for delivery, so I do not need to wait for labor 😀. I look up to God for everything also. Thanks Amanda for your response!.

I am almost 47. I've had abnormal cycles as expected at my age. I was wondering if it might be possible that I experienced a biochemical pregnancy when I started bleeding bright red at 21 days into my cycle? After a couple hours, the bleeding stopped for 2 days before I started bleeding a normal dark color. I felt mild cramping I don't usually have. There isn't enough information about biochemical pregnancy. Thank you for making this video.

Would they be considered biochemical or clinical if you haven't seen them on ultrasound but also don't have proof that they COULDN'T be seen? I've had four miscarriages and two of them I'd managed to make it to around the 6-week mark, maybe even a few days further, before losing the pregnancy. It's always been unclear to me whether those counted as biochemical or clinical miscarriages. Pregnancies should theoretically be able to be seen by then, so in that respect they seemed closer to clinical miscarriages. But at the same time, I never made it far enough to ACTUALLY be scanned, and all of my pregnancies resolved naturally and completely painlessly, just like a period. Also, the one time my clinic did scan me at 17dpt (5w2d) for my most optimistic pregnancy (number-wise) due to an ER visit the previous night, they didn't see anything and I lost it the following week, so I don't know if there was anything to be seen even then.

I was 16 weeks pregnant ( 30 years ago) and my baby just died inside me for no reason. This was a very very much wanted baby and I had to be induced and give birth to my dead baby. They called it a Missed abortion !!! I was horrified with the name they gave it but I think it is changed now to missed miscarriage.

When I had my second miscarriage (first one was because of chromosomal abnormalities and the second one was a biochemical) at 5+3 even the OBGYN said that this one didn’t count.. this was three months ago and I’m still furious about that..
