All the materials are listed below. Be sure to click the link and print out the plans with measurements. The ramp you see me build in this video is 4ft wide. If you have the space available, building an 8ft wide quarterpipe is worth considering as well as a second ramp to turn it into a halfpipe.
If you end up building your own, send some pictures and let me know how it went. If you want to paint, stain or seal it; treat the wood with the same materials as you would use on a deck.
Transition & Deck Ply→ (1) 1/2" Sheathing
Sublayer Ply→ (1) 3/8" Sheathing
Surface Ply→ (1) 1/4" Sanded
2x4's→ (6) Straight with no large knots
PVC Coping → (4ft) 1-1/2" Conduit
Construction Adhesive (or use screws)→ (1) Loctite Premium Construction Adhesive
Surface & Deck Ply Screws→ (60) 1-1/2"
2x4 to 2x4 Screws→ (21) 3-1/2" exterior

Any other skaters watching this so we have something to do during lockdown
Me and my friend on quarantine just built this. So excited to skate it
im tryna build one at my house so i dont have to go to the skate park by me
Im gonna build one because our skate park is closed
Building one as we speak 😂
@@devinkapp5150 I hope mine doesn't close
damn i remember when i was younger i always had this dream that id one day build a mini ramp. that was 10 years ago. i still havent built it. follow your dreams guys. time stops for no man
U still haven't built one yet ? I've built my first one at the age of 19 I'm 30 now
i'm building one right now.
I wish I was building on right now I’m begging my dad i’m nine
I just built this for my son and was trying to explain to him yesterday how lucky he is when I was growing up me and my buddies would have gave anything for something like this
Dream on!
Thank you for making this video. I've been talking to my dad for a while about a ramp and he saw this video and saw that it actually not that hard. We quickly gathered the supply's and got it built and today I just rode it! This is the first ramp I've ever built and i has so much fun. Thank you!
I wish my dad was supportive of my hobbies.
how much was the total cost
Um. So I was considering doing it, but I was wondering if you could tell me how much it would cost.
@@chuckshadows I'm wondering the same question
@@chuckshadows just over £100 not including tools
I made this with my 7 year old son! It was so much fun and perfect mama and son time during this quarantine.
how much did the supplies cost and how did it turn out?!
Impressive
Respect
will weinschenk It came out great he uses it all the time and it was about $90
Thanks Mom. Very cool!
This is the most cohesive ramp tutorial I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
Anyone building one whilst in quarantine?

@@7asp.508 getting the wood tonight. Doing it for my son...and inspired by Grosso. RIP
My son and I built this yesterday!!!
Wellrounded68 so sad man
I can't wait to build a couple of these for my grandson. Thanks so much for the informative video.
the construction adhesive method for the coping is the same reason I broke my collar bone, drill the hole and make sure they are screwed down. If you are able you can also use a washer bolt and nut to get a better fit. This also helps with removing the coping if it gets damaged. Same thing with attaching the deck. Two bolts on each side with a metal bracket will make your ramp last longer they can be found at Lowes too.
Thanks man and damn
F
can you show a picture of the metal bracket?
@@hurricanesstink doesn't have to be specific, just search for "how to attach coping to quarter" and use probably any of the methods that use bolts/screws, you don't even need brackets really
You can use J bolts as well, or tap a hole in the pipe.
Tip fir everyone put metal sheet on bottom so it’s smoother
Don’t go too thin either, at least 1/4 thick
Yus
If you don't the wood is going to be destroy in month, i create a quarter that is taller than the one in the video for 30$ with my father and the first day we don't have the metal sheet and the wood got little damage so yeah it's really important
Sacha Plenus it’s also because 33mm-45mm wheels are big enough to go over the wood
@@noahtaborga5146 yeah too
Finally someone gets very specific about how to build it. THANK YOU!
Built this during quarantine with my friend, works great. Sturdy enough for 3 people to drop in at the same time. I learned rock to fakie on the ramp. Taught my friends how to drop in by putting the ramp in grass so they wouldn’t be afraid to fall.
I would recommend a thin sheet of metal at the very end because the wood chipped and broke. Plus the metal makes the transition smoother.
This is so amazing. My dad and I build this today and we love it. great plans. great video. super good. Thanks from Australia!
My 14yr old and husband built this from your plans. It came out great! They used a metal pipe and added some metal to the transition. Thanks for the great plans!
This going to be a fun project because I'm stuck in the house because of the pandemic
You made me a hero to my 8 year old daughter. Got all my supplies at Lowe’s , took forever deciding on all the materials and got it done . A+
Thanks so much for this! I have been looking for a guide on how to build a quarter pipe and I’m definitely going to use your guide because it’s super helpful and easy to follow. Awesome video!
Skate park shut down, so my 7yo son and I built this according to your video. Turned out great, and we’re having a blast on it. Just the right height. Thanks man!
One day I’ll build one of these... that day is not today, but one day!
Just a reminder dude, whenever I see things like this and I say the same thing its been pretty much a year now and I have a million things that I wanted to do in 2020 but didn't get too.
Don’t forget
nice work mr. Im going to build this for a single mom neighborhood kid that trying really hard to skate. I had one of these in the 80's and loved it! Thanks again dude!
This guy is an amazing teacher. Well done!
This was SO awesome!! We bought the plans and it was SO worth it! I built it with a group of 9 year olds in a coupe of days. They learned how to use all kinds of tools and are super proud of their hard work. Thank you for this great tutorial!
You just gained a new subscriber! Keep up the awesome tutorials!
This was great, very well explained. I’m 3/4 of the way through my quarter pipe, can’t wait to skate it with my son - thank you!
Knocked this out in 2 hours. Turned out amazing!! Thanks Adam! Also Quarantine!
Thank you, Adam! Your video was extremely helpful!! We ended up using the PVC coping. That tip was very helpful! My kids love the new ramp and were super excited to build it. Thank you!!
Built one today with my dad. Thanks came out amazing
Awesome ramp! Took a friend and myself about 3 hours to complete, very sturdy awesome ramp, only thing I suggest is to use metal pipe instead of PVC, within 10 minutes of using it we cracked it plus it makes horrible noises with the PVC
Interesting. Did you use sprinkler (white) PVC or Conduit (grey) PVC?
@@AdamDIY grey! We tried to get everything you used in the video
@@Miltoncity how much did it cost you in total?
@@twobitt2222 just over $100
What metal pipe did you use
Just got back on the board after ten years plus three days ago and I'ma go and build this today I missed skating so much
My kind of guy! Building ramps in the garage next to some dumbbells
Great job ! The compact deck on this was awesome I’m thinking about making one now I used to have one with wheels
Great tutorial! Love Lowe tools been there despite of not leaving in the USA. Kobalt is a definitely an option tool to consider. Well done!
I just made it for my son today
Thanks for the tutorial :)
@AdamDIY
I literally never post you tube comments but this is dope. I've been debating building a mini ramp in my backyard so badly, i'm 22 an wanna get back into skating. As a kid the parks were far so all I did was flat an some rails(wasn't good but it was a lot of fun). I couldn't find any other good PVC info but this helped a ton thanks, metals expensive. Sorry to be pushy bro but you should do another vid on a full size mini ramp i mean it's not like you don't already have half of it LOL. Seriously though, I've been thinking about this for months. This is like probably the 20th video I've watched and every other one was on mini ramps, but this was was the best by far. And not only that you gave by far the most info thank you so much!(the list of materials in the comments is fantastic out of all the videos i think i maybe found one other that had the list makes it so much easier :D). PS just kidding don't make a whole new video for one guy but i'm happy i stumbled onto your channel I love diy thanks for the hard work!
you have to check for steel pipe, the thing they use to pass electric wire. it's aroung 35$ canadian for a 10'X2'' and use self-drilling metal screws to fix it
Been skating 20+ years, absolutely don't use pvc. Someone else mentioned this guy saying you should just glue the coping in which is also very VERY wrong. Needs to be screwed in.
I'll leave a comment on the video when I get to the end and see if there are any other issues
Thank to so much for posting this. I built this today and my kids love it!
Great video man, you explained it very well.
Best ramp build ive ever seen very detailed
Thanks, @AdamDYI - I got to build this today. And it turned out very nicely. You're video was very helpful.
I need the plans for this ramp. I love the fact that you attach the top deck and being able to take it off to save some storage space
Great ramp built two for the kids and I. If your 180lbs like me it’ll push back on you. Have to use it against the wall or curb.
I don't know why but the 3/8 ply I put on mine didn't go down as easy as you made it look. I've never worked so hard. I was sweating hard!!
Thanks so much for the tutorial! This was so straight forward with your tips.... Appart from the 3/8!
Good job man u helped me i made mine yester day with my dad thank you
The rock and roll and the end literally made my day. Thanks bro.
Thanks for the video. I started building mine and didn't get finished before dark I thought maybe I would watch video on how to make one and it's good to see I'm doing it right.
Way more sturdy than we ever cobbled one together as kids. You made it justtt good enough until it wasn't and you had to add some more nails and wood 😂💕👍
Hi , thanks so much for these videos. I just finished making 2 quarters based on your design & explanation and am having a lot of fun on them re-learning skating in my 40s with my kids. i made one at 24" with a 5'ish radius and a mellower one at 23" with a 6' ish radius.
It is worth pointing out that your plans and materials specs only work for the specific ramp in the video (23" & 5' radius). For the 6' radius ramp i had to use an extra bit of ply for the transition because it's longer. The great thing is that i could make make 2 ramps from the ply that you specify by buying a few extra 2x4s and using some scrap bits of wood i had for the platform , a fantastic cheap micro halfpipe! My tip is : Take your time to get the coping levels right, makes a big difference.
Me and my dad made this I’m 11 and it helped me learn new tricks and now I can drop in on a half pipe at the concrete skatepark thanks 😊
lucky
Building this right now thanks a lot, simple and clean
years later yet so well explained thank you for this
Idk about those lowes power tools but u made the best built quarter pipe diy on RUclips 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Danm thanks man I just followed ur tutorial and finished and really built my first mini ramp thanks
About to tey build with my newbie son. Thank you 🎉
Must say a big thanks for this video just made one yesterday for my son even managed to get him of the Xbox to help
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I made this ramp and now, it's the only thing I do each day. Rating: 10/10 :)
Nice
How much did it cost
That chalk line thingy is so cool!
They're really cheap and useful. Home depot has them.
Nice, Dude. Gonna build this with the boy!
Just finshed deadly instructions thank you kids love it
Thank you! A solid COVID indoor ramp!
I did it! I actually made this ramp. It sure doesn't look as pretty as this one, but it works just fine. Thanks!
Just made this ramp, and it works great, I didn’t get the plans from patreon, the video gave all the details needed!
About $115.00, I had a few other items from the hardware store, and my bill was $130. I used PVC pipe instead of metal to reduce the cost. ($4.00 vice $21.00 for the coping) My son has used it everyday and it is holding up well.
I also purchased 4x4 (half sheet) sheets of plywood instead of standard 4x8. It was trickier to measure, but reduced waste and cost since I wasn’t making 2 ramps.
22:23 Damn can still rock AND roll baby! 🤙🏼
thanks for the tutorial. I am now going to build two of them for my driveway. but, plan to use metal tubing.
Sick bump at the bottom
Just built this ramp in an abandoned factory. it's dope. thank you
great plans bought too much wood turned it into a fun box 😂👍
I built one identical to this last summer and it's my favorite thing to skate when I don't feel like driving to the skatepark
I’m building a bank into a quarter pipe at the side of my house because I visited Tenby and loved the skatepark. Hopefully I can do it soon!
Great idea for compact and very informative
My and my friend are making a second skatepark for our town so this is a great idea for it
Just built 2, very fun ramps for the pole building. Will eventually be throwing a rail and box between them.
Nice! I'm building something this week. Got the fever!
Thanks dude. My kid loves it
I made one and it works so well thank you
Doing this for my boys this summer
I hope you have a great day, too Adam. My name is Adam too. Thank you for walking me through this.
thanks so much for the video. Inspired me and the little fella to go for it. He had a ball. Here's a half way through pic!!
Damn - how'd you put a pic in!????
How tall was the ramp ?
I watched it 1 time through and I will build it.
Yes thAnks bro glad you put this video down
i dont even skate but i watched his whole thing. loved it
When a person ain't got nothing to skateboard with this is what you need I need this in my town in morristown tennessee I guess I'll try it
Super easy build. Highly recommend adding some sheet metal to the bottom lip as a transition to the ground. I used a piece of 22 gauge cold steel 24”x48” attached to the bottom. Kids are ripping it up now!
A really nice build. Seems really great to ride. Not to steep! Rock'n roll 22:28
Masterpieces great work man

Me and my girl just started a mommy daughter roller skating club (lol it's just us. I have 3 girls) and we wanted to take it to the next level but we don't have skate parks around here and no one likes the roller rink. This just save me. Gotta keep up with Club President duties 🤣 thank you
hows the club going?
Thanks for sharing came out great

Tired of learning new tricks during sumer and losing them over the Colorado winter snow storms... Great video!
This was so easy. Took a few hours with trip to hardware store.
