- Go straight to 5:26 for the landing.
If you know Sint Marteen, you've probably gone already to Maho Beach where the planes flight just above your head to land at the airport behind the beach!
You can see here the KLM Boeing 747 landing for the last time at Sint Marteen on Friday October 28, 2016. Now, you will be able to see only Airbus 330 over there.
Hope you enjoyed this video, and if you did, like or leave a comment down bellow!!!
The Queen of the skies never disappoints. She gave a great run through all those years to the people all over the world. She’s so iconic and be-loved. The whale was truly a plane so majestic that many will never forget her.
So great to see so many people wanting to see the dramatic landing of a truly dynastic plane such as the Boeing 747. The sky is empty without the Queen.
That plane seemed to just float in the sky. It was beautiful to watch.
A standing ovation for a true beauty..
Absolutely beautiful place! Been there 2 times and watched planes land here!! Amazing! We love st. Marteen
So beautiful....I remember when KLM briefly had 747-400 service to Baltimore Maryland's BWI Airport...I would watch them come and depart with total wonder and pride that they chose my city to initiate service direct to Amsterdam.
Ik heb in 1993 met de KLM 747 gevlogen naar Curacau prachtig was dat,dat zal ik nooit vergeten heb veel respect voor KLM piloten,en ander personeel.
I love this video and all my amazing memories of flying KLM’s 747’s over the years. Thanks for the great ride KLM!
its a shame most 747s are being retired now, best bird ever to take to the skies
They aren't fuel efficient anymore compared to the dreamliner.
So sad Hugh, I miss seeing them flying around Heathrow
I thought it was the 727
They're not being retired for freight service - just passenger service.
And the 757 are dying....
I have been there many times on that fence and at the sun set bar to see the 747 land and take off it was amazing !
The most beautiful plane ever in all its majestic glory. Thank you for sharing
A few years ago we stood at that spot and take it from me, this 747 was quite high compared with some other landings. It felt as if you could reach out and touch the wheels when a really low one came in! Somebody said that the fences were actually clipped by the planes now and then!!!
Take-offs were even wilder. Some folks were hanging onto the fence and being blown horizontal by the thrust from the engines. Fantastic! (I bet there's a video of that somewhere : I must look to see that again even if it will never be quite the same as being there).
You have got to be kidding. I work ground crew and i could tell you first hand you could seriously get hurt when these engines at]re at maximum thrust.
That plane is so beautiful that even the sea was wearing KLM colours
Nothing compares to the iconic Aircraft
Well described
@@hendrikhardung1083 I agree with you 100%
Get lost
@@RobertSmith-iu3kc nah don't think so mate
The Sunset Beach Bar SXM has a live streaming web cam aimed at the beach right where the planes land. If you monitor their webcam and flightradar24 you can know when the planes are about to land. Really cool. Some planes come in very very low, especially the private jets and Sky High Airways Flight SHH972.
Zo'n prachtig toestel uit de vaart halen zonde mooiste toestel ever ❤️
The Boeing 747 is such a beautiful beast of graceful flight, in this age of identical looking twin engined jets. The 747 puts the hulking A380 to shame...
I will miss the Queen of the Skies sooooo much, long live the 747!!!
Gary Allen So the 747 as whole is being grounded??
@@swaggerific005 no they still use them for cargo
I enjoyed very much !! and we replay several times ;) :) . It was nice to search for the very very little spot in the distance ....... and to follow it till the big KLM-bird passes by for the last time ! thank you for the very beautiful movie !
Start at the 5:20 mark, you'll avoid an eternity of boredom.
Thank you
And a lot of wind!
For airplane/airline enthusiasts as myself it is not boredom but excitement and expectation!
Beautiful video in all aspects. Thank you!👍
A Magnificent Beast, truly an engineering marvel.
Majestic. Like the beautiful cars from the 50s - 70s, we’ve unfortunately lost this sense of grandeur
Magnificent Queen of the Skies
The only time I went to St Martin was with my parents when I was about 11. We stayed at the Little Bay Beach Hotel and I loved looking through the window of the rafts at the angelfish. Our plane's engine caught fire coming from St Thomas or St Croix. I remember the flames, but my dad was a pilot for EAL so I wasn't scared and loved flying.
Thanks for this movie... Greetings from Holland
The water so beautiful
Long live the mighty 747. We a gonna miss you.
Great video and thank you Maëva for capturing this historic aviation footage! Now for those interested, the 747 is not dead. The Queen lives on in 747-800F livery for air freight companies. I live in the north Atlanta suburbs and saw the last Delta -400 depart for the scrap yard a few years ago that my retired Delta captain uncle flew. All is not lost however as about three or four times a week I can hear a Cargolux -800F overhead at about 10,000 AGL departing to the north on climb thrust. You know the sound of a heavy and it never goes away. The 777 is a great aircraft which my uncle retired with, but there is no sound comparison to a four holer!
Perfect landing for a short runway I would never be that close to many things can go wrong
Theresa Myers too
Guess you never were on an aircraft carrier
Theresa Myersfrench speaking
Chris S yeah, the same can be said of just about everyone.
Snapper Organs so then you go, “well I guess you’ve never landed at Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Nepal, huh?” Yeah. That’ll do it. And not to mention the plane is nearly as long as some older carrier decks, so THAT would be a great stunt for a finale. Land one on an aircraft carrier. Even if it’s (the deck) is modified lightly. That would be a sight to behold. If they could go out and find a really stable and strong headwind to sail into, the plane would have that much more air speed over the wings but less actual landspeed so it won’t require as much runway. Awesome.
So sad that ill never be able to see the queen of the skies land in St.Marten in person. :(
why brother?
It's obvious guys. The point of the video is last video of 747 in Saint Martin and Radiation Nuke is upset that he will never see a 747 in Saint Martin

@@aaronarshad3687 Most of these will be converted to cargo and will still see them in the sky's for decades to come.
@@ohwell2790 unfortunately not true, a couple of weeks ago the pax fleet and px combi fleet of the klm 747 got retired, they will be sent into the desert to be scrapped
One of the best closeup landing
Great to see such a turnout on what must be a momentous occasion. Sad to see but I guess time marches on. Thanks for the video.🇬🇧
So majestic on final approach!
Tu y étais !! C'était génial les 747

Also from Australia 🐨
Pedro Mejias You right 👍👍👍🤗
Even QANTAS still operates those aircrafts, right? For the record, “The Flying Kangaroo” is my third favorite airline, after Air Tahiti Nui and Air New Zealand. (I am Tahitian, now residing in Europe).
Rode my first 747 to Japan in 1979. Long long flight. Nice 👍
The ocean is gorgeous!!!!
Curitiba na área. Ainda vou conhecer esse paraíso. Assistindo em maio de 2020.
Linda 747-400 Azul! Eu também queria estar aí pra filmar!!✈️🛫🇧🇷
One of the most beautiful moments in aviation :)
How beautiful, wish I could've been there!
The most beautiful airliner ever
Has to be one of the great views of a landing anywhere. Fantastic!
747 will never retire
J'étais sur cette plage il y a quelques années. J'ai attendu toute l'après-midi pour le voir atterrir👍👍
Wow que dicha poder ver en vivo éste aterrizaje !!!!
Absolutely fantastic
Truely amazing
Such a shame she has been retired from the skies and from such a magical airport
That is not she. That in case you missed it is an airplane and airplanes do not have gender.
Oh well The plane is referred to as the “Queen Of the Skies” smart ass.
Amazing video 😍
Yassine o
I love the landscape and klm
My family & I have been to Sint Maarten 3 times & we stood on the shores there watching the planes land at Julianna Airport. What a RUSH. (We called it Saint Martin.)
Exciting! I loved it!
Definitely a bucket list item ✈️🌴
The A380...is a monster...but....The 747 is a BEAUTY....

@@maevaroquebert6691 Why do you thank him? You're not the one responsible for those factors. You should agree, not thank him.
Show! Show! Show! Show!
Meu sonho é ver isso de perto. Um dia eu o farei.
Looks beautiful there
(Rire). On dirait que tout le tourisme de Saint-Martin (Hollande) tourne autour de ça. Magnifique attérissage de ce 747 de la ''Royal Dutch/KLM''. Avec des spotters passionnés toujours à l'affût pour immortaliser ces moments.
amazing!!! i would love to see it in person !!
Vendo esse video novamente chega dar ate um arrepio quando ele passa sobre as pessoas "devargazinho". Só quem gosta muito da aviação sabe oq é esse sentimento
That was awesome shoot
i love it!!!!
VERY BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!!❤
Stunning!
I'm betting that the flight crew REALLY ENJOYED the crowd on this day?! Always wanted to experience, seeing this happen, but could never afford to go there.

How cool👍👍. Subscribed
I've flown into this airport...it's terrifying!
i really like this beach... maho
Amazing 🤩
Ocean is beautiful I was too busy looking at I forgot about their airplane ✈️ lol 😆
now I wish that happened when I was on my harmony of the seas cruise :(
also tip, if your going by yourself on a cruise I recommend the harmony or symphony of the seas by royal Caribbean
those ships barely rock compared to the ones I was on before
probably because we got lucky and there were not any storms besides rain in the early hours when we got to our first stop (cocoa cay)
doesn’t mean that you won’t get hit with rain or thunderstorms and things will be canceled
not bragging
sorry if you think I am
just recommending the ship I think you should go on if your going by yourself
Back to the bar!
I love this place
