Ya! Blankets, baskets, purses blown into the surf. People falling down and rolling into the waves and almost drowning, Cars tip over and slide their way into the ocean and still blow off into the horizon. Pretty much exactly like the title claims!

I use to be a private pilot flying our of Honolulu International in the 1970's. Tower would have me wait for a long time after a 747 had taken off before me because of the tremendous air turbulence and vortexes it created and they would vector me away from it's flight path to keep me out of it's wake turbulence. Landing with a 747 behind me wasn't a problem for me, but the 747 was much faster and so I would have exit the runway as soon as possible. One day, because we were all on the same frequency for tower control, the pilot of the 747 behind me said, "you better hurry up little guy because I'm about to eat you up." Meaning get the heck out of the way as soon as possible because he didn't want to go around because I was too slow. I loved those days.

If those people really wanted to see something spectacular they should have gone to the opposite end of the runway. At the other end you get to see that huge jumbo jetliner fly over your head at low altitude with its engines at or near full power.
I saw a demonstration once where they parked an old school bus sideways behind a 747. They started the engines and as they advanced the throttles the jet blast picked the school bus up off the ground and threw it backwards away from the plane.

Delay of takeoff could have been delay in getting transatlantic clearance from Atlantic Traffic control at Shannwick. Shan-Shannon Ireland, Wick Prestwick Scotland or Gander Newfoundland.

Funny old world. At Heathrow, when I flew out on a B747, they were actually spooling up the engines as we went on to the runway. No wait, straight on down the runway. Here, did I actually hear it go off down the runway? Lucky the camera shows it in the air.
Who do these photographers gain out of super fast landings and take offs with still or movie cameras.After all these two events are just for a few seconds for any significant recording or treasure to see later as a historic event.People must be crazy!

My dad was a private pilot too. I miss hopping in his plane to fly to a restaurant at a airport to have a meal.
