  • This is my review of the Gaerne Fastback Endurance boots. I've used them for several trail rides and a few Enduro races in a hot sub-tropical climate for about 5 months. So far, I've been impressed with the boot.
    Advantages:
    1. Hand made in Italy with genuine leather.
    2. A visually attractive appearance.
    3. White is great for hot sunny weather.
    4. Ample foot and ankle protection.
    5. Reasonably light and not fatiguing to wear all day.
    6. No break-in time required, comfortable out of the box.
    7. Nice aluminum buckles.
    8. Stitched construction means long life in a humid climate.
    Disadvantages:
    1. A bit expensive at almost $400.
    2. Not much rubber sheeting on the burn guard to grip the bike.
    3. Insole is not very padded.
    4. Mediocre traction on the ground for hiking.
    5. Not waterproof.
Overall - I really like the boot and will likely just buy another pair of Fastback boots once I wear these out. Great for trail riders - perhaps not so much for Motocross.

Very nice looking boots and good protection for your type of riding. I agree about the colour and the temperatures outdoors.

Thanks. People don't realize how much of a difference that wearing light shades can make. Black is a NO go in summer.

Beautiful boots, real leather is hard to beat.

Nice boots, comfortable enough but very good protection in difficult situations. Saved my legs uncountable amount of times

Great review sir. Helped me cement my decision to go with these instead of tech 7. Not made in china is huge to me haha.

Yes, I like Aplinestar gear, but their boots are too soft for me, and no stitched sole.

Isn't it strange that so many boots don't have dorsiflexion lockouts? (toes pointing up) That's a super common injury, and boots that already have plastic mounting points that don't add a little tab to keep the boot from folding forward too far just confuse me.
Like even I could make a lockout for that boot with a bit of steel wire.

Thanks for the comment. It's hard to find boots that have all the features that would be best. Thor Radial seems to have good lockouts, but their soles are not stitched - that's a deal-breaker for me.

Hey man, located in SEA (PH) as well. How were you able to purchase a pair here? Gaerne site says it doesn’t ship to this region

Find a motocross store near you or an American based website. I had no problem ordering a pair in Canada

I am sorry for the negative remark but I just don´t get it , this is a review of a boot you haven't tried out yet properly , correct?

Thanks for the reply. I always use a product heavily before I post a review. If you look at 8:26, you will see me using the boots in a race in May 2023 at Moc Chau - I used the boots from January to June before I gave my review. In fact, you can watch that race in the video titled: Moc Chau Enduro 2023 May, you will see me using the Fastbacks in the race. It's a fair point to wonder about online reviews, but as you can see from my LS2 Subverter helmet review, I always put heavy use into any product before I give a review - at least 6 months or 30+ hours of use. Feel free to have a look at my other videos, thanks for your views and comments, take a look at my Graham Jarvis training video if you have the chance.

    Dude, it's Motocross, not Motorcross.

Thanks for the input. I'll just go check out your channel to see how a real off-road video is done. I'm sure your content catalogue is extensive and a Noob like me can learn a lot from each of your videos.

Have you ridden with Bob Hannah, Kent Howerton, Danny LaPorte, Broc Glover, Marty Smith, Jeff Ward, any of those guys? I have.@@PrasaaraNa
