Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, RUclips and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!
Losing yourself is so common. A few years ago I was in the depth of mental illness. I forgot who I was and what opinions and thoughts were actually mine. I'm still learning who I am and what I like to this day because I'm so easily influenced. I hope your journey to finding yourself goes well and you keep with the activities you enjoy!! You make so many valid points, Girl! I’m in my 40’s now and I’m still working on Not putting too much pressure on myself.. I’m learning how to get to know myself with every step, sometimes harder than I can bare, but I’m still trying.. It’s hard all the time, but it’s when the hard gets harder, that I have to learn how to be another part of myself and yet, I feel so disconnected from myself at the same time. Not sure if that makes sense, but that’s how I feel and make sense about it in my head so I hope it translates well.

I’m so glad you made this video because I’ve really been struggling lately with who I am due to my conditions as well. I was diagnosed with adult/late onset Tourette’s after being diagnosed with a few other things. It’s really hard to know who you are when people only tend to see and pay attention to your conditions. I’m hoping to be able to understand more about myself soon.
You are so inspiring, I recently had a whiplash injury that makes it difficult for me to look around and hold my head up right. Seeing how strong you are gives me a lot of faith.

As a 15 year old with EDS, POTS, Neuropathy, and more, sometimes i feel like im overtaken by my disabilities and that’s all i am. Hey Zara, I'm new to your channel. Right now I'm having a very hard time in my life defining myself. I am the second oldest of 12 kids and the age range goes from 1-18. Many of my siblings have disorders or are handicapped in some way, as is my dad. That leaves me with doing my best to help around the house, somehow get my school work done, and take some time to get to know myself. Your words have inspired me so much. I now know that I'm not alone and everyone struggles. Keep doing what your doing❤

when I was first diagnosed my specailists pretty much forbid me from doing most of my hobbies (some of these I have come to ignore over the last 2ish yrs, NOT ADVISING THIS AT ALL but sometimes you just got to say f it). I never really knew myself before my diagnoses so I've been even more lost since I lost what I thought I had found of myself.

Hi, I just recently been diagnosed with tourettes. I've had it for four years and kept it hidden as much as I could. I told my therapist about it last week and mentioned it to my psychiatrist this week. Now I don't feel like I'm making it up.
I'm surprised and proud I still have my job. I've been working there for three years. I've been able to muffle the inappropriate words or phrases that come out. The arcade helps with muffling the sound better. The people who work in my area know about the tourettes. They're supportive and make it easy to work with. I've only told one manager about the tourettes. He's the only one I trust, and he was cool about it. They're all very helpful, though, when I have a seizure. I have seizures as well.
I have watched other videos of yours, and you've already helped me learn how to calm my tics down. I am allowed to listen to music in one of my ears while working. I have found that helpful thanks to you. I'm always using fidget toys, so I'm not giving anyone the finger. I don't need to lose my job. Every time I come across your videos, you inspire me to accept what I have and live life, so thank you for everything.

For some people yes, for most people no. Zara said she probably doesn’t tic in her sleep but she isn’t sure since she’s asleep lol. Personally I do tic in my sleep a tiny bit, but I only found out because my partner told me, so it’s clearly never bothered me if I didn’t even know. Hope this helps!❤
i have no idea! i don’t swear or say phrases in my sleep at all but i’ve always been a very moving sleeper (my mum kicked me out of her bed when i was rlly young bc i kicked and punched and flinched in my sleep)😂 whether they were tics i have no idea, maybe!

When I was diagnosed with Tourette's, I also got my ADHD diagnosis. I later found out along with Tourette's comes either ADD or ADHD. I've been subscribed to you for a little while now but don't recall you mentioning which you have ... ADD or ADHD? I'd also found out Tourette's is less common in girls, which might be at least partly why I love when I find females that have it.
