Tourette's syndrome is a neurological condition and disability which causes involuntary movements called tics. I use my platforms on social media such as TikTok, RUclips and Instagram to advocate and raise awareness for the condition and show what it is like living with a disability as a teen in school.
My name is Zara Beth (zeezee25 on tiktok) and I post videos about tics, tic disorders and what its like to be a teen living with Tourette's syndrome, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and a seizure disorder (NEAD/NES).
I show what its like having tics and Tourettes in class and in school and college, vlog, and I also bake, do other challenges and answer all your questions in Q and A videos.
I am also an ambulatory wheelchair user so I show what life looks like using various mobility aids and how needs change from day to day!
I am also a musician! My newest release is my first single (original song) called "She's Mine" which is now available on all streaming services - I sing and play piano, guitar, ukulele and I write, produce, mix and master all my own songs and content myself!

I have anxiety and I get anxious tics from it and my anxious tics are shaking, leg shaking, making loud noises(that are very noticeable😭) and quivers

Hi! I know this is a old video but I’m new to your channel and I was just wondering what FND is? I’ve never heard of it before! You handle everything so well!
Functional Neurologic Disorder. it can cause things called Non Epileptic Seizures or other neurologic sorts of issues. nearly brand new research has revealed that FND happens by means of a brain signal routing issue.... this is most commonly seen in PTSD because it is the most profound and near instant onset of these kinds of issues.... where a veteran might not be able to drive under a bridge even though they are back home because of that newly developed baser instinct. We see a bear and we run away with out having to think about it its just automatic. Only when our brain has been reconditions to instinctively respond to too many bears it starts to see a lot of things that are not bears as bears.... but PTSD is not the only condition that can cause thid misrouting of signals in hte brain, its just the most intense and the fastest version. nurses in care homes may develop FND because of hte constant stress of making sure youre taking care of every one and the higher levels of cortizol cause the routing agents in the brain to glitch out and instead of those happy signals ending up where they need to be to make you dance end up in the areas of hte body that make your legs kick out and flail. epilepsy is abnormal electical shocks to the brain that come from the brain that short curcuit things.... FND is like trying to drive from cali to florida and ending up in the netherlands not sure how you even drove through the ocean...
Didn't know people graduate highschool in the uk so young . Here In canada most are 18 by the time highschool is over.
We finish GCSEs at 16 but a lot of people stay at school (or go to a different high school) to continue with VI Form (sixth form). It’s called this because high schools used to be numbered from the start of high school rather than the start of all of your schooling (as it is done now). By this old system, it went 1st year, 2nd year, 3rd year….lower 6th, upper 6th (this later merged to become 6th Form). 6th form finishes the year you turn 18 and in it you study more specific lessons based on which GCSEs you picked (and passed). So secondary/high school in England finishes at 16 for some people and 18 for others. You can choose not to do 6th form and go to college or get an apprenticeship. And after 6th form you now have more qualifications having completed your ‘A Level’ exams and can go to college, university or get an apprenticeship :)
Yeah it’s kind of confusing but it seems more simple when you’re actually in the system lol
@@ev-sb Most people dont finish education at 16.... it's 18 as youve gotta either do an apprenticeship, sixth form or college.
