One crazy detail is in the books Wormtail dies because in the Malfoy's basement he has a second of guilt and compassion for Harry, so the magic hand Voldemort gave him strangles him while Ron and Harry are hopelessly trying to save him.
Watching from Aotearoa New Zealand. It's been such a pleasure. I've also enjoyed the extra lore you've shared from the books. Very impressive. I support watching the Fantastic Beasts trilogy if you're up for it.
Thanks for the reactions. I have enjoyed them. Fawkes the Phoenix is dead by the way. He burned over water so his ashes can’t gather to re-birth him. His ashes are forever scattered.
Loved the journey with you two, one who loves the story as much as me and the other just discovering it ❤. Please do the 20th anniversary too, it is so well done that it is like a part of series…
9:26 I love that you pointed this out. It takes incredible skill to act like another character acting like your character. It's like inception for Harry Potter
Oh, man.... seeing Fred lying on the floor in the Great Hall dead is heartbreaking, especially seeing Ron break down in tears. (Hearing that Harry had to sacrifice himself to give them a chance of defeating Voldemort and the Death Eaters didn't help that grief.) Also, I was at the midnight premiere of The Deathly Hallows Part 2 in 3D. The scene where Mrs. Weasley took out Bellatrix got a massive cheer from the audience. 7 points I've made or seen in the past regarding Harry Potter: 1. The prophecy Professor Dumbledore mentioned in Professor Snape's memory that mentioned a baby born at the end of July was partially true. There were actually two: Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom. They were born in the same month and year, but Neville is only 1 day older than Harry. (Neville: 30 July 1980, Harry: 31 July 1980.) Voldemort had chosen to target a then 15-month-old Harry, thus marking him as his equal. Neville lived a life free of that fear with his grandmother, despite the constant painful reminder of his parents being permanently admitted to St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries after being tortured into insanity by Bellatrix Lestrange. 2. In the scene where Professor McGonagall steps in to protect Harry from Professor Snape....if you notice, he never raises his wand to actually attack her. He actually deflects the spells hurled at him at the two Death Eaters behind him, the Carrows....the very same pair that Neville said were forcing the students to practice the Cruciatus Curse on first years. 3. Voldemort's death after his battle with Harry wasn't supposed to look like he got snapped out by Thanos, and it wasn't just them isolated in the courtyard. In the book, Harry and Voldemort battle for the last time in front of everyone else, resulting in Voldemort dying as a mortal man once Neville sliced off Nagini's head. 4. Harry didn't snap the Elder Wand in the book version. He mends his original wand (the one he got in Philosopher's Stone from Ollivander's) with it, then returns it to Professor Dumbledore's grave. 5. I give HUGE props to Narcissa for straight-up lying to Voldemort after Harry confirmed that Draco was alive. It shows that neither she nor her son wanted the Death Eater life. 6. That one goblin who stared in shock as the Ukrainian Ironbelly burst through the floor of Gringotts seriously looked a bit like Donald Trump. 7. While Harry's hiding out at Grimmauld Place with Ron & Hermione, Remus shows up and tells them Tonks is pregnant, and while hiding out at the shell cottage, Remus tells them that their son Teddy was born and names Harry his godfather.
All of the following is in the books to the best of my memory: George (the whose ear was cursed off) is the twin who survived. He eventually married Angelina Johnson, the girl Fred asked to the Ball in #4. She was a chaser on the Gryffindor Quiddich team in #1 but they cast a different actor in #4. And, yes, she's dark skinned. Harry did not desire power. That was Dumbledore's weakness. Ariana was an obscurial, a witch who could not control her magic. She was kept hidden in the house away from encounters with muggles but was allowed to go out at night. While outside, the three muggles saw her and bullied/teased her. She killed them and her father took the blame to protect her. Dumbledore wanted the power of the hallows. Grindewald convinced him that the best thing for wizards was to not hide from the world but practice magic openly. They were not just friends seeking the hallows together; they were lovers. No one knows whose wand caused Ariana's death -- Aldus, Alberforth, or Grindewald's -- but Dumbledore blamed himself and his quest for power. After her death, he no longer craved power but was often tempted (as he was with the ring).
I thought the muggles assaulted Ariana and his father killed them as revenge. But I don't remember it from the books (as I read them 20 years ago), I remember it from reading other people's comments. So it could be wrong. lol
@@JordiVanderwaal I re-read the books from the beginning each year a new movie came out. And my local theater used to do a marathon every couple of year and I re-read before the marathon. I think Im remembering Ariana's story well although I haven't read the books for several years.
@@shirleydurr411 I always disliked this portrayal of them being lovers because nowhere in the books is it explicitly stated nor anything even close to them being more than just friends, it's some dumb thing jk rowling added years later. You think while writing the books she went, oh yea ima make them gay lovers
@@valhallaiamcoming1376 It's sort of implied in the book but not explicit. Rowling did say (before the movie series was done) there was a gay character prominently featured in the books . David Thewlis, who played Lupin, thought it was his character before the Tonks and Lupin story came out. Afterwards, Rowling said it was Dumbledore. Rowling actually has notes on all of the characters, outlining details long before she wrote the first book. She also mapped the plot over the seven years for each of the seven books. That's why when I see the movies I don't have a favorite. It's all one story.
One thing they never explained in the movie is that when Harry died to protect everyone, shielding them from Voldemort, he provided the same protection that Lilly gave to Harry. Voldemort couldn't harm anyone after he hit Harry with the killing curse again.
I've been along for the ride since the first movie, and I absolutely loved experiencing this with you guys. I've subscribed and looking forward to more movies!
I love Neville's story arc. He went from a late bloomer with a hand me down wand and an overbearing grandmother to leader of Dumbledore's Army in Harry's absence.
I can‘t remember exactly how it played out in the books, it‘s over 20 years that I read them, but at least in the films his character doesn‘t really change. His last speech against Voldemort resembles the scene when he tries to stop the Trio in Philosopher‘s stone. And I know for sure that he didn‘t go after Luna in the last book, but even that is no real change in the films when we consider how the Yule Ball went for Neville.
It’s nice rewatching this after the premiere, and I’m happy to go on this journey yall!! Also I know you explained it to me, but I’d love to see her do the sorting quiz!! at first I thought ravenclaw, but now my mind thinks huffleclaw or Hufflepuff! I didn’t expect y’all to cry, but then again this is the emotional climax of the story!!
Have absolutely loved watching these films with you n watching you share it with your gf your genuine emotions throughout are great keep being you guys love the reactions guys hope you do the 20th anniversary ❤❤
Congrats for reaching the end and I'm glad that Oliver filled in the essential missing information! This is much deeper then what one could understand at a first glance. I'd just add this much: Master of Death doesn't mean that someone doesn't die. The whole story tries to tell us that death is a natural part of life. Every book, almost every significant event leads us gently step by step closer to this idea. No spell can reawaken the dead and it's not a good idea to try to evade death. Dumbledore said in the book: "You are the true Master of Death because the true master doesn't seek to run away from death. He understands that he must die and knows that there are far, far worse things in the living world than dying". Dan Radcliffe asked J. K. Rowling sometime during the shooting of the first few movies whether he will die at the end or not. Rowling gave a cryptic answer: "You'll get a death scene". As for plot holes, there are few and far between and all of them debatable in one way or another whether they are truly plot holes or not. For example, in the first movie, if "only someone who wanted to find the stone but not use it would be able to get it from the mirror", Harry could have slept in his bed and let Quirrel/Voldemort have an endless tantrum in front of the mirror, they would have never gotten the stone and there was no need for him to go and confront them. Also, if the Weasley twins had the Marauder's Map for two years before handing it to Harry, how did they never notice a guy named Peter Pettigrew sleeping in Ron's bed? And how could Harry never notice the same thing throughout his third year, he only saw Pettigrew/Scabbers when he roamed the corridors? I'll end with my favorite quote from the book. Dumbledore: "That which Voldemort does not value, he takes no trouble to comprehend. Of house elves and children's tales, of love, loyalty and innocence Voldemort knows and understands nothing. Nothing. That they all have a power of their own, a power beyond the reach of any magic is a truth he has never grasped."
However in the book that map scene was a bit different because well you can make that argument for the movies and I think at this point we've all established that the movies have a lot of plot holes that just aren't plot holes in the books, which is something that I find really frustrating for people who haven't read the books because they end up with all these questions and not fully understanding things because things get cut out or span a different way so you end up with plot holes and confusing points that you wouldn't get from reading the bookswhich is why a lot of people who watched the films first will often go back and read the books. But in the book it was looping who saw Pettigrew on the map because a book only detail is that only the marauders who created the map can see each other on the map hence why Harry and Fred and George could not see Peter but Lupin could.
@@AshleysAdvice You're right, I forgot that, even though I've read the books at least 15 times. But it still doesn't explain why Harry and the twins never saw Pettigrew on it. One fan theory suggests that the Marauders could see each other on the map but others couldn't.
@@ercsey-ravaszferenc6747 Yes that's what I said, well it isn't outright said in the book the fact that Lupin is the only one who can see Pete on the map kind of proves that theory so to be honest I think it's a movie only plot hole like even though it's not outright saving the books the fact that Harry Fred and George couldn't see him but that Lupin could and that Lupin you know when after him and all of that and could also see serious on the map is another big thing I think so if you think back to the book which I know is really hard to do because Sometimes things from the movies get merged with things from the book, but in the book one of the big plot points of that film is the fact that Fred and George give Harry the map so that he can sneak into that town because he isn't allowed to go because he didn't have permission and so he uses his cloak and the map, but in the book there's no mention of him being able to see serious on the map either which I just think further proves the fact that the marauders created the map and the point was for them to be able to sneak around together and also the reason that they became animals was so that they could protect Lupin which is something a lot of people also don't mention the fact that that's why the whomping Willow exists because Lupin needed a place to transform and the tree lead straight to the shack and that's why it got the haunted shack name because he would transform in there and howl and stuff so there's a lot of things like that that get left out of the movie like how serious wasn't really that good of a person and he tricked Snipe into getting killed by Lupin But then James stopped him and so to pay James back he's looking after Harry so it's not just about his love for Lily that's the reason he's looking after Harry he feels like he owed James for saving his life, but the point of the map is that there's other things like they put in different enchantments into the map so that if other people found it like if it fell into the wrong hands other people wouldn't be able to use it that's why like you have to say a certain in enchantment to open it and a certain enchantment to close it to conceal it so I think you know we can all agree that they were very very talented wizards and that it makes sense that they would put that kind of enchantment on it where only they can see each other so yeah this is a definite plot hole from the movies only in my opinion, all that stuff about oh maybe it's a theory that only the marauders can see themselves I don't really think that's a theory I just think that's outright Sid by the fact that Harry couldn't see Peter or serious on the map there by proving that only the world is can see each other like you don't have to outright say it, sometimes it's just in the subtext, that's usually how books work, show don't tell. By Peter and serious not being on the map when Harry looks at it is showing us that it is a marauders only thing they don't have to outright say that becausethe proof is in how the map works. If that makes sense.
@@ercsey-ravaszferenc6747 Yes that's what I said, I don't think that's a theory it's just a part of the book it's subject reading between the lines show don't tell, I think the proof is in the fact that Harry can't see serious on the map either, it's not outright said in the book but it's shown that only the marauders can see each other. You have to remember that they were all very powerful wizards able to transform into animals so that they could sneak away with Lupin and be there for him during his transformations, that's why the whomping willow was installed in front of the shrieking shack so that Lupin was able to transform in peace that's why that exists on the grounds and that's why people thought the shack was haunted because he would hell, also serious wasn't that good of a person because he tricked Snape into almost getting killed by Lupin and James saved his life so it's not just about the fact that he loved Lily and that's why he's protecting Harry he also owed James which is also something I think people forget from the books, so Boona wasn't quite as great as movie Snape. But my point is that in that movie Fred and George give Harry the map so that he can sneak around that town because he didn't have permission to be there so he used his cloak and the map to get there, and throughout that book he never mentioned seeing serious either so I don't think it's a theory I think it's just kind of in the subject if that makes sense, it really is only a movie only plot hole to be honest. Just like a lot of other things from the movies that aren't plot holes in the book because the movies didn't understand the book properly and didn't understand how spells worked and different things like that. Anyway I hope that you can read this because I'm visually impaired and use speech to text so it takes what I say and turns into words but sometimes it doesn't understand certain words so hopefully my comment makes sense.
There's a deleted scene where Draco tosses Harry a wand when he wriggles out of Hagrid's grip and reveals he is still alive, it's a bit of redemption and is why the Malfoys leave- if voldemort lived, he would have gone after them for aiding him (Narcissa also helped Harry by lying)
I have seen this series 1,000 X at least. The first time was with my 6 little boys. Besides them yours is my favorite reaction. BTW you have no earthly idea what it was like trying to keep 6 boys from losing their minds between film releases!
Actually you're wrong about some other stuff too, it was Fred not George who died, never actually says that when he lists of the people who died he said we lost a lot of people but they're still with us and then he lists a few of them, so yeah it's Fred George was the one who lost his ear and he's the one that is still alive it's spread that days and also Charlie is not the oldest it goes Bill then Charlie then Percy then Fred and George then Ron then Ginny and Charlie was not in the movies except for one small scene where he's in the paper With them when they went to Egypt, but he shows up a few times in the books like when they have to return the dragon that Hagrid got back to Romania Charlie takes it back with him. They really only mention this in the movie though not actually show it like they do in the book.
I don’t remember if it was in the book but Snape deflecting McGonagall’s shots to take down the Carrows was such a tell about where his true allegiance was. I love little things like that. 😊
It wasn‘t. Just like how he tries to shield the trio from Lupin in Prizoner of Azkaban. Solely invented by the films. That‘s why they are so much better. They improve a lot of things.
@@SobsilusI wouldn’t necessarily say an improvement, I love them both but a big issue for the movies for me is how much better they make snapes morality seem, he ends up doing the right thing and being a hero but he is not remotely a nice person nor does he care for Harry.
@@jordy9096 But they do improve massively. Harry and Snape for example are both a lot less angry and vindictive in the films. And especially Alan Rickman‘s great acting lets you forget what an insufferable piece of shit Snape is in the books. His „redemption“ twist is so outrageously silly and lazy that it physically hurts, but at least the films soften that blow a bit by foreshadowing his true nature and allegiance.
@@Sobsilus yeah I understand why you may prefer that and that’s perfectly fine, but I don’t agree and much prefer the more multi layered characters and relationships aswell as having a character like Snape be complex where he’s not a good person but does do the right thing while still having those flaws. Alan’s performance is incredible and I wouldn’t change it for the world but he was definitely made more likeable in the films to appease certain audiences who crave redeemable and sympathetic villains rather than the more grounded character analysis.
@@jordy9096 But Snape is not considered a bad Person by the story. That‘s the whole point. None of the characters is complex within the story. We as the readers see them that way, but the story does not. Because Rowling does not. Because she herself has the moral depth of a 5-year-old at best. Harry Potter has no complex or „grey“ characters as far as the story is concerned. You are born either good or bad, you then are inherently good or bad, and nothing can ever change that. My problem with Snape (and everyone else in the books) is that he is a horrible person and was unwilling to change. But the story wipes it all away in the end. He was in love with Lily and wanted to save her (not even James) and that puts him in the good team as far as the story goes. And all the bad stuff he did is okay now because he was one of the good guys all along. Harry names his son after Snape. The guy who racialslurred his mother and basically had a blood feud with his father. Snape‘s bad deeds don’t matter in retrospect because good guys can do no wrong in Harry Potter. Because that is how Rowling thinks that morals work. It‘s inherently in the story. Harry can call Dudley fat because Dudley is in the bad team. Draco can’t call Mrs Weasley fat because Mrs Weasley is in the good team. Umbridge can‘t scar Harry for live because Umbridge is in the bad team. But Hermione can scar Marietta for live because Hermione is in the good team. Rowling famously confirmed that Marietta could not get rid of the scar because „I always hated traitors“. Rowling herself is super vindictive and that‘s why so many of her characters are as well. She doesn‘t see it as a problem. And many of the fans as well. There is more than one „Lucious Malfoy deserved the Hans Landa treatment“ post in the sub reddit.
Bill (the one who gets married) Weasley is the oldest sibling, followed by Charlie, then Percy, the twins (Fred and George - Fred is the one who dies), Ron, and Ginny is the youngest and the only girl.
It's been a fun time watching these! Congrats Kylie! 😆 You were very right about Severus! 🖤❤🖤 There are so many great things about re-watching the series - not the least of which is seeing the kids all so tiny and cute again!! 😂 Been enjoying all of your videos and will continue to be around watching! Cheers!
The resurrection stone was the stone in the ring. Remember the thing Wormtail dropped into the cauldron in the Goblet of Fire? It looked like the Horcrux after Voldemort killed Harry. Harry did use the Elder Wand once, to mend his original wand, before breaking it. Lavender Brown died.
The Weasley siblings from oldest to youngest are Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred and George, Ron and Ginny. Also, the last between Harry and Voldemort happened in the Great Hall in front of everyone with Voldemort not being able to harm everyone because he used the same magic as his mom when he sacrificed himself to protect everyone in the school. In the final clash, Voldemort drops dead-just like anybody else, which spits in the face of everything he tried to accomplish. He wanted to be immortal and have ultimate power because was he scared of his own mortality. IIRC, they just toss his carcass in a side broom cupboard while they celebrate! 🤣 Also, Harry repairs his original wand before placing the Elder Wand back in Dumbledore's tomb with him.
It's possible I missed it but did Oliver ever explain the prophecy to Kylie in that it could have been referring to either Harry OR Neville and it was Voldemort that made it Harry by attacking (and scarring him) to 'mark him as his equal'? It's covered very well in the books but not really in the movies. I'm always reminded of that aspect when Neville stands up to Voldemort and when he wields the sword. He's still fulfilling his share of the prophecy at that stage showing hoe he would have been capable of being the chosen one if he had indeed been chosen by Voldemort.
he did mention it could've been Neville, but didn't expand on the mark him as equal and the fact that Voldemort is half-blood too and considered the half-blood baby Harry to be the bigger threat
A comment (because i stuck with you) This series brings so much to the table. Rowling made something special. As for Alan Rickman, JKR must have told him the whole plot, because once you know, that he knew, you will see hints of that in every movie. Also in the first movie, Chris Columbus wanted to add a scene with Snape, that would have fitted the first movie, but shattered canon in the last. Rickman told Columbus that he couldnt do that and when Columbus asked, why not? Rickman basically said "Because i know how the story ends, YOU dont." aked again, he said "Ill tell you later" He never did.
I’ve been here since the beginning and this has been by far my favorite HP YT reaction series!!! I also have truly cherished the dynamic of a HP Book reader with someone who hasn’t seen the movies to give all of the context that the movies can’t quite fit in; it really gives so much to the story and to the reaction. Thank you guys so much for this incredible video series!!!
Fun fact - the Slytherin common rooms are in the dungeons - in the book the don't do that but evacuate the Slytherins first - which I find better. Slytherin house is not bad not all Slytherins are bad. Not all Gryffindors are brave Not all Ravenclaws are clever and not all Hufflepuffs are loyal. No house trait is "bad" it's you intention that makes them good or bad. And I have managed to get sorted into Slytherin for 20+ years
34:12 the only 2 ways to destroy a horcrux is to either destroy it physically, or if the creator of the horcrux shows remorse for creating the horcrux, which Voldemort would never do.
In the graveyard in the fourth film, Voldemort took Harry's blood, until this point in time Dumbledore was sacrificing Harry, but when he found out about what Voldemort done, in the books it says he got a glimmer of Hope in his eyes that quickly went away but for a second he had something of Triumph or something like that in his eyes because he knew as soon as Voldemort took Harry's blood into him that Lily's sacrifice would live on inside of Voldemort which meant that when Harry went to sacrifice himself in this moment in this film it would kill the Horcrux but not Harry because the fact that his blood runs to Voldemort means that he will come back just like Voldemort and all it did was kill the whole crocs, also it was Petunia in the beginning bit of that flashback who ran to tell their mother about Snape and while Petunia does not really like James she often references Snape not James when talking about the boy she doesn't like that Lily was friends with and a lot of people mistake that for James, especially in the books, she also knew a lot more in the books than she does in the films, for example she knew about Azkaban and about the dementia and understood what was happening to Dudley in the fifth film, but of course in the movies they don't show any of that. Also I wouldn't necessarily say that Snape is a good guy and Dumbledore is a bad guy, Snape still did a lot of bad things to a lot of people especially in the books and Dumbledore in his youth wanted power, and while it does seem that way he did to Harry was pretty dark and "for the greater good" he did still care about Harry and felt really bad about the fact that Harry would have to die that's why he was so happy when he found out that Harry wouldn't have to die and he's known that all along so he's not quite as bad as people think, also slithering house is not all evil either it's just the films give it a bad rip what says in the movie about taking all of slithering into the dungeons is not something she says in the book, the movies put more emphasis on slither and being bad when only a few handful of people from Litherland were really that bad, the reason that Sutherland gets a bad rap is because it's the house of ambition and cunning, which are two things that often bad people have, but anyone can be ambitious or be cunning. I'd like to apologise if there's any spelling mistakes in my comment as I am visually impaired and have to use speech to text but it doesn't always understand what I am saying especially for words I don't know how to spell when it comes to fictional words like spells or people's names in the world of Harry Potter especially I might get the words wrong because I don't know how to spell them because I learn words through hearing them so I'll just speak them into my phone and it turns what I say into words that's how speech to text works so it often doesn't know what words areand it will just write the closest thing that things that hear.
Your explanations are great! I always interpreted, Voldemort as killing harry AND the horcrux in the forest. But bc Voldemort has taken Harry’s blood to resurrect himself he also takes lilys sacrificial enchantment linking him to life while her blood still lives. And thus Voldemort has Harry’s / lilys blood and still lives after he kills harry in the forest. So harry while dead can comeback. Also the sneaky horror of Voldemorts fate. 8 pieces of his soul each one in that gross disgusting state in limbo in pain and too weak to move for all eternity.
Ohhh, also Dumbledores reason for not telling harry he can survive is so he can go to his death intending to die. In the book when he does that he repeated lilys sacrificial enchantment on everyone he planned to die for, everyone fighting at hogswarts. So Voldemort can no longer hurt them. The other death eaters can but not Voldemort.
Really enjoyed rewatching Harry Potter with you. I love the reactions of someone watching it for the first time and Snape Allan Rickman RIP was an amazing actor.
When McGonagall and Snape faced off in The Great Hall - Snape never once fired at her. He just deflected her spells - AND he deflected them at the Carrows, incapacitating both of them. AND, when Snape took off, you can see him grab the wands of both of the Carrows, so they would be powerless.
To be clear: Snape did hate Harry. He only protected the boy out of his devotion to Lily. He was loyal to her above all, to his last breath. Dumbledore did care for Harry very much, and he was hoping Harry would indeed survive being "killed" by Voldemort... but it was a gamble, and he was willing to risk it to end Voldemort.
You know the irony of this vault situation is that if serious black was still alive they wouldn't need to dress up as Bella tricks because the black bolt and a strange fault are both down really low, they may still have to trick people but they would've gotten a lot furtherbecause they wouldn't have had to rely at all, just something to think about, although I'm pretty sure Harry inherited a lot of stuff like things that belong to serious so he might be able to go down to the black fault anyway even without him I don't know, but I'm surprised they didn't think to try that first.
@ I forgot about that, but I feel like there could still be something that they could've done, I guess it just all comes down to what if scenarios of like what if serious was still alive, I'm not sure if Harry even inherited the black vault or not but I know he did inherit creature and the black house number 12, so I'm not sure, but still I feel like I think it's funny and I feel like it's done well I'm just thinking of other things that they could've done that might've been a little bit easier or you know ways that they could've tripped them so they could get down a little bit further because if they hadHarry dress up as like someone else from the black family like I know everyone thinks serious is dead but if people didn't know that then he could've dressed up as serious and entered the black bolt which would be closer, I guess you'd still be in that same problem though, but yeah I don't know I just felt like the Bellatrix thing was really risky and didn't have massive pay off because it didn't really end up working properly in the end, I mean like they were still okay in the end they were able to get the car and all that but I just feel like it's a shame that there wasn't an easier way.
As an aside, Oliver getting emotional watching Sorcerer's Stone because he's watching it with Kylie is a huge green flag. He must love her very deeply. They'd make a great husband and wife.
Something the books had that these films missed… patronous can change with great emotional impact. Tonks became a wolf… 6th book… snapes a doe was The embodiment of lily… him throwing that down in response to Dumbledore was way deeper than oh he sent the doe to help Harry.
They tried to "fit it in" by having Dumbledore saying "Lily... After all this time?" upon seeing Snape cast the doe. That's supposed to be the implication that Snape's patronus changed to hers.
Okay so a few things. 1. It's always fun to see how people react to these movies, more so this one. You have people who have no idea whats going on to the point you wonder if they are even paying attention. People who are putting the pieces together, people just besides themselves. Also thank god for Oliver and the fact he can explain things. people get so pissed off at Dumbledore because the movie never fully explains the blood thing. And same thing with the stone. every reactor I have seen thinks Harry can bring someone back from the dead or someone can bring him back from the dead. And like to me someone who has read the books it's clear to me what the Stone does when they tell the tale of the three brothers. but I guess for movie watchers only that part maybe doesnt click with them.
I believe, in the books, (I've never read the books, but someone told me) that Harry uses the Elder Wand to repair his original wand (the Elder Wand is the only wand strong enough to repair another broken wand) before he destroys it (the Elder Wand).
The one thing i took away from this is kylie is the first person in like hundreds of reaction channels who thought about hagrid whilst the battle was going on. Even when i rewatch the movie countless times i forget about him😅
Started from the beginning, and now we’re here! I found yall through Harry Potter and intend to keep watching. Oh! And the death that you forgot was Barry Crouch Sr in movie 4!
Awesome series. I did my share of tearing up at times also. :P I was wondering about one of Kylie's tattoos. What is the significance of Goodbye and good riddance? Also, Michael might be a good movie to react to. It's a bit of fluff but a good feeling.
It’s been a great journey rewatching Harry Potter with the 2 of you, I can’t wait for you both to watch Star Wars next, which gladly y’all are just watching 1-6, I think y’all should watch The Lord Of The Rings, Pirates Of The Caribbean (1-3), and Gladiator at some point, and I can’t wait for you two to continue more of Stranger Things
The best thing about watching this is the evolution we see. I don't mean the movie evolution either. In the beginning Kylie was being supportive and willing to watch this franchise because she knew how much it meant to Oliver; flash forward to the end and she's absolutely hooked and calling things before they happened and recounting events from previous movies. There were a ton of times where Oliver looked really impressed when she'd recall something from a previous movie and there is nothing more attractive then being with someone that is willing to partake in someone else's hobby simply because they know how important it is to them and they want to spend time with them. This relationship dynamic between them is the greenest flag and it was great getting to go on this journey with you.
@44:48 - Voldemort wasn't supposed to hug Draco, but during filming, Ralph Fiennes decided to give Tom Felton an awkward hug - the director loved it and kept it in (you can sort of tell that Tom Felton doesn't quite know what to do - but he stays in character)
At 20:13 Oliver knows, and he cries.. But Kylie doesnt know and enjoy the situation.. And if you look carefully at that fight Kylie, You'll see that Snape split a spell in half which McGonagall shoot and used it to stun the Death Eaters behind him. Because he didn't want McGonagall to get hurt.
I am basically Oliver anytime I watch Snape’s memories. Crying like a baby EVERY SINGLE TIME You guys should look into the Hunger Games series as well. The books are a good read too.
Please watch fantastic beasts next🙏🏽I loved that series, it got mixed reviews but I absolutely loved it and it explains a lot of backstories from the Harry Potter series
Invisbility cloaks are known to wear off after some time. Harry's one is very old and is still working properly after centuries of use, so it's pretty sure that it's a very special artifact made by very powerful wizards such as the Peverell bros. Same goes for the Elder Wand. The Resurrection Stone has not the right name to it. It doesn't resurrect anyone, only summons back souls of loved ones to ease your own passing. I think that Voldemort wouldn't even be able to use it as he loved NO one, ever, to begin with. And he doesn't need invisibility cloaks as he wants to be recognized. The only one which would be of use to him is the Wand. Sending the Slytherins to the Dunjeons actually serves a double purpose; one not having them as backstabbers during the battle and two, actually protect them from harm from the Death Eaters. puting your soul in an already living being is messed up on so many levels but most of all, you cannot necessarily garantee the Horcrux safety if the beast decides not to defend itself or die on its own accord, it defeats the Horcruxe's purpose. It's a double edge sword because, granted, in the best cases a living being can defend itself in un predictable ways instead of a set up safety that can be worked around but on the other hand... Voldemort overlooked some details that Dumbledore counted on for his plan to succeed. Wands can change alliegance by one duellist to lose a duel, not just die. Despite Snape being the hateful jerk he is, his death seems to unjust... Dumbledore's plan is the ONLY one that could succeed because it's based on Voldemort's mistakes first and foremost. It's not out of place or immoral in any way. It's not raising the kid as a pig for slaughter at all. Many people seem to misunderstant that, especially since Harry had two reasons to maybe stay alive: His protected blood still kicking in Voldemort and Harry's sacrifice letting the Horcrux take full damage. In the book, Harry just uses the Elder Wand to repair his broken Phoenix wand and puts the Elder Wand back into Dumbledore's tomb. One of Dumbledore's specialies is his work on how Love is a kind of magic of its own. He knows how to read people's hearts even if he wasn't very good with his own.
I’ve loved watching this whole series with you guys! Also loving the stranger things series too! Have you all seen the Hunger Games series? If not you all should for sure watch and react, people tend to think it’s a simple YA book to screen adaptation but it is so much more, such a deep and meaningful story. Also would love to see y’all watch the 20th anniversary!
*Romione happens* Kylie: "That's crazy! I didn't see that coming!" I think that's the point: the kiss comes out of nowhere. Emma Watson said that Ron and Hermione smiling at each other looks so genuine because both actors WERE actually happy: they has just sold a romantic scene which both of them found really uncomfortable.
The thing that always freaks me out about this... They day they filmed Snapes death is exactly the day Alan Rickman dies a few years later. *sigh* That was 9 years ago and it has been such a loss Alan Rickman was such a great actor
That baby Voldemort in King’s Cross is actually Voldemort, it’s his fate if he doesn’t show remorse, that’s why he was also unconscious in the forest. Harry lets Tom know what will become of him and offers him the chance to show some remorse, but of course he doesn’t.
The whole thing with killing the owner of the Elder wand in order to possess it was a myth. All that was needed was to "WIN" it or be able to take it from the previous owner. There were only seven horcruxes, the diary, the ring, the locket, the cup, the diadem, the snake, and the one that Voldermort never intended on making was inside Harry when he killed Harry's mother.
Yes seven horcruxes, so eight parts of Voldemort's soul including himself. He "only" intended to part his soul into seven pieces including himself. So he meant to make six horcruxes.
Agreed, but I liked that he destroyed the Elder Wand contrary to the books. Dumbledore‘s grave wasn‘t a safe place the first time, so it was outrageously stupid to put it there again.
Correct me if im wrong. Wand can't kill it's owner. So when Voldemort resurrect with Harry's blood he mix it in his. When Voldemort cast Avada Kedawra wand strike Harry but she can't kill it's owner so she killed Horcrux in him. Thats Right?
Well, yes and no. Wands can kill their owners. It‘s just that in this case the Elder Wand refused. If you are not accepted by the wand it will always work for you, just not as well as one that accepts you as its owner. And I still find it so frustrating that Rowling did not have the balls to leave Harry dead. For him, even death has no consequences because he is the goodest and most special boi of them all.
@@Sobsilus Remember how he killed Snape... He thought the Elder Wand belonged to Snape, so he just cast (I assume) "Diffindo" and told Nagini to kill him. Because (I assume) he believed the wand wouldn't kill him. Otherwise he would have just cast Avada Kedavra. Same with Harry and Voldie's "twin" wands. They think they attack their owners, and therefore "can hurt, but can't kill."
@ Voldemort still had his own, original wand that he could have used. It also leaves the question how Nagini‘s kill would have counted for Voldemort. Nagini has a piece of his soul inside her, just like Harry. But that doesn‘t make Nagini and Voldemort one being or mind or entity. They are just „connected“.
@@Sobsilusthat’s the same thing with Moaning Myrtle though; the basilisk is what ended her life, not Riddle himself He then used her death to make his Horcrux, which would mean her death split his soul apart, as it counted him as the culprit I guess when you are the one to give the order, you’re considered the guilty party, not the one following the order, especially if it’s an animal
@ Yes, but that was a murder for the purpose of murdering. Voldemort was the one holding the strings. But Nagini is its own scientent being and so is the Elder Wand who aligns with the „conquerer“ of its last owner. I guess if Harry literally just grabbing the wand from Draco counts as „conquering“ for the Elder Wand, then killing the owner by sending a beast on him counts as well. But the fact that all this is not clarified in the books shows that it is yet another „A wizard did it“ BS resolution that Rowling pulled out of her arse due to convenience. She only ever so slightly got into wand lore, and suddenly it is THE major thing that decides the final battle. The whole twist of Voldemort losing because he didn‘t understand the Elder Wand enough was so weak anyway, which makes it all the more frustrating that it still leaves a lot of things unanswered.
What a wonderful discussion at the end. I loved your reactions to these movies. If you like time travel, consider watching Timeline from 2003 and it contains 2 love stories. Do you have any plans for watching Band of Brothers? Please also consider Casablanca which is incredible because it was filmed before the Allies started winning WW II. Another recommendation would be The Best Years of Our Lives from 1946. Another shoutout for the intelligence with which you discuss your reactions. Keep going because you bring joy into my life with your posts.
Some of the information you're saying is not totally true because it could've been Neville or Harry it's just that Voldemort Mark Harry as his equal and that's what made it Harry because everything else was leading up to either one of them becoming the chosen one it was just all about decisions, as Dumbledore says in I think the second film it's our choices that show who we truly are and that's why it was Voldemort's choice to go after Harry instead of Neville and it was Harry's choice to be put into Gryffindor instead of slithering and it was Snape's choice to protect Harry and all of that kind of stuff it is another big point of these books and films is that it's all about the choices that you make and how those choices can affect you because Voldemort made bad choice after bad choice in his life and he could never get things right because his motivations were wrong whereas people like Harry constantly made good choices, and that's the point of this film and all the other films and books in this franchise. It's about the choices that you make and how those affect your lifefor a good or bad.
A lot of People misunderstand Dumbledores motives here. First let’s be clear. Even if Dumbledore was being cold regarding Harry it is justified because as long as the part of Voldemort that lives in Harry is alive then Voldemort can’t die. If Voldemort lives then Voldemort goes to war with the mortals and enslaves them upon victory. If Harry has to die to save humanity then so be it. Anyway he believed Harry would live. There were several things helping Harry that Harry himself was unaware of. One is that since the elder wand can’t be used to kill its owner then the worst it would do is hurt Harry but not kill him. Also it was said that since Harry’s blood was used to bring Voldemort back and the that Harry’s mothers love (that saved Harry in the first film) was in Harry’s dna then that love was now working against Voldemort in his own dna. That is one of the theories anyway.
In the books harry uses the elder wand to repair his broken pheonix wand and then puts the elder wand back with Dumbledore. I wish they woukd have put that in the movie

Oliver fighting for his life through the Snape scenes. Breaking my heart!!!!!
One crazy detail is in the books Wormtail dies because in the Malfoy's basement he has a second of guilt and compassion for Harry, so the magic hand Voldemort gave him strangles him while Ron and Harry are hopelessly trying to save him.
I've watched them all, of course 😊
Love Oliver's emotional side and Kylie's cleverness. Oliver is so good at not spoiling anything
Hey guys, we've been looking forward to this for so long, thank you for coming to watch Kylie finish the Harry Potter series!!
Crazy ... so fast ... I feel like you started yesterday ...
Watching from Aotearoa New Zealand. It's been such a pleasure. I've also enjoyed the extra lore you've shared from the books. Very impressive. I support watching the Fantastic Beasts trilogy if you're up for it.
Was great! dont forget the Fantastic Beasts and The Reunion! :)
Oh, shoot, I just remembered - has Kylie gone to Pottermore to find her house, wand, and patronus? 🪄
7 points I've made or seen in the past regarding Harry Potter:
"Always" 💔
All of the following is in the books to the best of my memory:
George (the whose ear was cursed off) is the twin who survived.
So it could be wrong. lol
@@JordiVanderwaal Correct, it's never revealed what the boys did to her and exactly why and how the father killed them.
Kylie at the very end 😂😂😂 “hope they got rid of the womping willow” hahahaha
One thing they never explained in the movie is that when Harry died to protect everyone, shielding them from Voldemort, he provided the same protection that Lilly gave to Harry. Voldemort couldn't harm anyone after he hit Harry with the killing curse again.
Thank you for this, I needed it.
A great reaction! Love that ending.. always brings a few tears. I actually laughed at the womping willow wuote you said at the end 😂
I have been WAITING for Kylie’s reaction to this as a Snape lover 💚
It’s nice rewatching this after the premiere, and I’m happy to go on this journey yall!! Also I know you explained it to me, but I’d love to see her do the sorting quiz!! at first I thought ravenclaw, but now my mind thinks huffleclaw or Hufflepuff! I didn’t expect y’all to cry, but then again this is the emotional climax of the story!!
Have absolutely loved watching these films with you n watching you share it with your gf your genuine emotions throughout are great keep being you guys love the reactions guys hope you do the 20th anniversary ❤❤
I just want to hug Oliver 😢
Charlie Weasley was in the third movie; in the newspaper clipping of the family in Egypt. He gets a whole 4 seconds of screentime!
Sir Alan Rickman's "Always" destroys me every time... thank you for this amazing series!
That scene looks silly. I think the movie is better without it. Draco did not deserve any focus in that moment.
None of that happens in the book and I’m glad it was left out of the film.
I have seen this series 1,000 X at least. The first time was with my 6 little boys. Besides them yours is my favorite reaction. BTW you have no earthly idea what it was like trying to keep 6 boys from losing their minds between film releases!
Greetings from Vancouver Island, nice job guys well done, thanks.
This was a blast! thank you for doing this
Never change Oliver, let those emotions show, means you care & are a true man with a heart
Harry could keep the cloak, because in the original legend the cloak was the only Hallow that didn't lead to its owners death.
you definitley neeeeed to watch the 25th reunion.
i love your reactions.
Been watching since the beginning!! So excited for this one :)
this dude has the most British face ever xD
Yeah he does 😂 looks like my cousin lol
Bill (the one who gets married) Weasley is the oldest sibling, followed by Charlie, then Percy, the twins (Fred and George - Fred is the one who dies), Ron, and Ginny is the youngest and the only girl.
I've enjoyed all 8 reactions to these movies. I really wish they would have made extended editions for all 8 movies and not just the 1st 2.
It's been a fun time watching these! Congrats Kylie! 😆 You were very right about Severus! 🖤❤🖤
There are so many great things about re-watching the series - not the least of which is seeing the kids all so tiny and cute again!! 😂
Been enjoying all of your videos and will continue to be around watching!
Found you guys through the first. Intrested in seeing what else you put out for me to enjoy
Some reactions i would love to see if your intrested
Twilight
Hunger games
Marvel
Pitch perfect
Dexter
Walking dead
Game of Thrones
Great reaction Oliver and Kyle to a classic movie series. Very emotional at the end. Big thumbs up from Ian
Slytherin house is not bad
not all Slytherins are bad.
Not all Gryffindors are brave
Not all Ravenclaws are clever
and not all Hufflepuffs are loyal.
Harry: Come on Tom. This is your last chance. Be a man, show remorse.
Voldemort: WHAT!
One of the wildest verbal exchange in the book. 🤣
I like to imagine that for a hot second the death eaters think that somehow Neville's speech was so powerful it brought Harry back to life
In the graveyard in the fourth film, Voldemort took Harry's blood, until this point in time Dumbledore was sacrificing Harry, but when he found out about what Voldemort done, in the books it says he got a glimmer of Hope in his eyes that quickly went away but for a second he had something of Triumph or something like that in his eyes because he knew as soon as Voldemort took Harry's blood into him that Lily's sacrifice would live on inside of Voldemort which meant that when Harry went to sacrifice himself in this moment in this film it would kill the Horcrux but not Harry because the fact that his blood runs to Voldemort means that he will come back just like Voldemort and all it did was kill the whole crocs, also it was Petunia in the beginning bit of that flashback who ran to tell their mother about Snape and while Petunia does not really like James she often references Snape not James when talking about the boy she doesn't like that Lily was friends with and a lot of people mistake that for James, especially in the books, she also knew a lot more in the books than she does in the films, for example she knew about Azkaban and about the dementia and understood what was happening to Dudley in the fifth film, but of course in the movies they don't show any of that.
Great explanation.❤
Than you guys… really enjoyed watching along with you all.
You should watch The Hunger Games next. 😃
Watched them all with ya. Great job you two.
I think I just found a new reaction channel!! :) New subscriber here from AZ !!!
"I wonder if he'll find his own friends like Harry did"
Scorpius: yeeeeeeeee
Harry is a no 1 on the ministry most wanted, he can't just walk into a bank and make a withdrawal.
Please watch the anniversary as well!!
Loved all your reactions to HP. Sorry to see you come to the end and hope you react to the HP Reunion!
Crying like a baby EVERY SINGLE TIME
You guys should look into the Hunger Games series as well. The books are a good read too.
Please watch fantastic beasts next🙏🏽I loved that series, it got mixed reviews but I absolutely loved it and it explains a lot of backstories from the Harry Potter series
I would love you guys to watch Bridgerton!
Kylie you look super cute today, your dress is really nice:)
I just realized oliver is wearing a tie. Both of yall lookin swanky today!
I would love to see them react to the hunger games if either of them haven’t seen it.
The death you forgot was the first one, Professor Quirrel. Also, Charity Burbage and the Minister of Magic that followed Fudge.
The thing that always freaks me out about this...
They day they filmed Snapes death is exactly the day Alan Rickman dies a few years later.
*sigh* That was 9 years ago
and it has been such a loss
Alan Rickman was such a great actor
That baby Voldemort in King’s Cross is actually Voldemort, it’s his fate if he doesn’t show remorse, that’s why he was also unconscious in the forest. Harry lets Tom know what will become of him and offers him the chance to show some remorse, but of course he doesn’t.
i love your reactions. Damn Kylies eyes are gorgeous!
I loved all your Harry Potter Reactions. ❤ I am glad Kylie found out she was right to Trust in Snape. Always!!
Nice reaction!!! I think you guys would also find The Last of Us and The Hunger Games interesting
It has been a pleasure going on this journey with you. I wish you well, I wish you love. ♥️😀
Malfoy’s future wife is named Astoria Greengrass. 52:28
Really enjoyed all of your reactions to all the movies!
The juxtaposition of this century:
😭☺
Stop you guys are precious the way you dressed up for this and then took a shot at the beginning ❤😂
Harry should’ve fixed his wand like he did in the book I know it’s a small thing that’s very trivial but it always bothered me he didn’t do that
AGREED
Agreed, but I liked that he destroyed the Elder Wand contrary to the books. Dumbledore‘s grave wasn‘t a safe place the first time, so it was outrageously stupid to put it there again.
Kylie, you're so pretty!
She's beautiful
@@Sobsilusthat’s the same thing with Moaning Myrtle though; the basilisk is what ended her life, not Riddle himself
He then used her death to make his Horcrux, which would mean her death split his soul apart, as it counted him as the culprit
I guess when you are the one to give the order, you’re considered the guilty party, not the one following the order, especially if it’s an animal
You should react to the reunion special with the actors ❤
I do hope that you'll reaction to the 20th Anniversary video. Plus, there are 3 Fantastic Beast movies.
Even if Dumbledore was being cold regarding Harry it is justified because as long as the part
of Voldemort that lives in Harry is alive then Voldemort can’t die.
I want a deleted scene where Ginny/Harry and Ron/Hermione announce their engagements to Mrs. Weasley, and she loses her sh!t!
In the books harry uses the elder wand to repair his broken pheonix wand and then puts the elder wand back with Dumbledore. I wish they woukd have put that in the movie
