Thank you for the precious content, Ben! It would be very interesting to see you try analyzing sentences with this approach while reading a story for example. I guess the way I'm perceiving these pronunciation videos is you basically trying to explain what happens intuitively when natives talk, which I bet must be very hard to explain but dearly appreciated nonetheless.
Really appreciate your comment! Ep1 and 2 focus on the general sentence pronunications rules, the future episodes will be about more detailed rules for different context and different senerios, so please stick around! Also i would like to point out that in order for everyone to understand and sound clearly chunk by chunk, the examples are not 100% natural speech in real life, i still emphasize a little on the tones, but i will say it's 80+% natural speech those examples in video. In real life, the 3 layers are even more sutle and close to each other, and the number of chunks are even more less and longer. So this series will help everyone to build up the speed step by step. Thanks a lot for your support again!
I'm not at this level yet -BUT- this is very useful to keep in mind to avoid having to "unlearn" too much of what we learn during "mainstream pinyin guidelines".
Thank you Alejandra, I am preparing short videos for tone pairs, each video last 30 seconds or so, which i think it's very helpful for your level. But i am not so good at computer yet, will launch soon when it's ready :)
@@chinesewithben I'd like to have some 1st-3rd tone pairs (if possible) to find, and get used to my own pitch. I've found that playing with those tones together (personal highest and personal lowest) helps me a bit to get to know my own tones. 🎶🎤🎧🎵🌞
Ben you are doing a stellar job with your content! Very grateful for your hard work!! Chinese is a difficult language and you make it much easier. In today’s world of divisiveness more people learning languages is a vital way by which we can build bridges to each other and find our common human thread that weave us together as human beings. Threads such as we all need friendship, love and respect. We don’t know the effects of small actions that ripple out into the future, maybe a young person who will be a future world leader is learning Chinese from you right now. It really does work this way. Many thanks! May your life be filled with health and love.
very well said and very touching Terence, i am very happy that you love the my contents. Thank you for learning Chinese to build the bridge between the cultures!!
Thanks a lot for your kind words! glad you checked the video at early stage of mandarin learning. It's normal the teacher will over correct you on the tones and individual pinyin, as long as you have these rules in head, you will always be able to get back on the right track
