my life as a bland food eating Somali Uni student is over, I been looking for some food recipes that reminds me of home and thanks to you I have, lifesaver lol
I made this and I swear it gets better with time! So flavourful and tasty! I had to keep mine of the stove for quite some time tho to soften the meat but it was worth it
I absolutely loved recreating this beautiful dish. I normally find it hard cooking red meat and steer away from it, but you really did show how easy it is to cook it. And Alhamdulilah it turned out beautifully my family went in for seconds.
I use shoulder meat, sometimes replace it for lamb which is softer. Cooking it slow and long in a heavy pan helps meat get super soft and if you still find the meat you have too chewy you can add meat tenderisers (they usually sell it next to the spices in supermarkets or green grocers) hope that helps x
@@triptastetelltv6209 I would also recommend a natural meat tenderiser such as lemon or vinegar while marinating the meat. It'll also take away the foul smell off the meat.
@MurkedlikeJ The secret to chicken breast if that's what you're talking about is to cook it for a short period of time 5-7mins. Add it in last to the pot, if you add it in first (i.e after the onions) the meat toughens up.
I love your recipe but why cumin, coriander seed in a something you are eating with pasta? If this was for rice I understand but pasta? I grew up eating pasta but never had one with cumin or coriander seed. I am use to cooking the sauce with garlic, basil, oregano etc.. thank you for sharing your recipes.
Hey it’s just a traditional sauce that we enjoy with everything! Rice, traditional breads as well as pasta! It’s absolutely delicious and just works! ☺️
Ilhan. A in that case I understand, trying to make something that can be eaten with diff dishes.. one day I will try. Just diff.. my mind when I spell cumin I am thinking rice, or eating with flat bread.. just have to try it may be I would not cook so much diff dishes for diff things lol who knows 🤷♀️
