51:58 suggestion- I have had this problem with certain philodendron (looking at you, mamei silver cloud), and I find that putting a plastic baggie on the leaf when it is starting to do the whole “Cinderella slipper” thing really helps!
your philodendrons are amazing! Their sizes are goals for me. The McDowell & Billietiae -- wow! I’m not a fan of tortums, but yours are healthy and very prettty.
Saturdays are the best, largely in part because of your uploads! I hope you're starting to feel better with your nausea. Thank you for another long video!
Thank you for letting me keep you company 🥹 also nausea has been at bay (granted I’m still taking nausea meds) and I’m finally able to eat! still having food aversions and nothing really sounds / tastes great, but at least I have an appetite and haven’t had my head in my toilet bowl in a few weeks now 😅 a win is a win!!
Hi, love your hair here, you look so cute ✨ I was holding my breath for all your gloriosums and it made me so happy seeing they survived the downsize 😃
Im glad im not the only one struggling with the spiritus sancti! Thank you! As for my Serpens, she just recently met the trash bin because I could not be bothered anymore. That being said….I’m still in love with philodendron ❤ so thank you for sharing your collection.
Typically for me when i was initially growing mu collection; i bought philodendron because i thought i had to and now im chucking them all in the bin. But i found that i actually want to collect anthurium and variegated alocasia
i honestly think it takes some time in the hobby to actually realize the plants you can see yourself loving and caring for long-term. i'd say philodendron is my favourite genus, but when i first got into collecting i thought i needed them all too but luckily i've slowly come to realize who i want to have long term. and of course that can change. my only variegated alocasia is the frydek and i'm scared to add anymore to my collection in case i end up liking them too much 😆
I strongly believe that a fertilizer is the solution for stuck leaves. And not just Cal Mag, all nutrients. I've seen it with several philos, mainly pink princess and melano, once I started feeding them full strength TPS One the leaves started to have a much easier time getting out (still hasn't helped melano with getting bigger...). Also, try to just push through it, when it gets to a cataphyll it also makes it much easier to unfurl the leaves, probably the geometry of getting out of cataphyll vs bending from the petiole makes a difference. I really would like to see you with glasses, I feel they would suit your face so well :) But still, looking gorgeous with short hair 💚
can you help me out and tell me...i am trying to root a florida top cut but its been tricky and i saw some white fuzzy stuff on it i didnt know what it was but after seeing this its roots right? if i scraped some off will it still come back?
🎅 🦌 😂😂😂I love you! Your hair is perfect but I get the “touching my neck” issue.. bugs me too! Thanks for this video.. a long one is always appreciated ❤❤❤ kisses to pudge 💚🐶pat for Archie 🩵👶🏻
Costa farms released to big box stores back in October 2 plants per pot. Found one at Walmart but if your local Home Depot carries the leaf joy proven winners plants they have them and they are huge! Atleast 2 feet tall beautiful plants! Even if you get a small one they grow super fast for me pushes leaf after leaf :)
i've been seeing the huge tortum in the big box stores! i know i already have a big one but i would definitely be tempted by another if given the opportunity 🙊
I have a philodendron green jade and need help getting ride of my propagation do you want any clippings or know anyone that would love a clipping it won’t stop growing
Oh man I’m a sensory person too and the hair comments are so real. Consider an undercut so you can put the top half up and get it off your neck! I keep mine short and it still bugs me enough that I get to the point of threatening to shave it off at least twice a month. 😂
The amount of times I’ve stared at my husbands electric shaver like 👁️👁️ But after seeing myself with the bald filter on TikTok and having the jump scare of my life I was like ok maybe not 😂
I don’t have a specific video on it (though I am currently brainstorming a short reference video for things like this) but I use it every other week at 1/4 strength in all plants with active growth. I’ve used it both as a foliar spray and a substrate drench!
Silica has been working pretty great for my philodendron so far. The only plant it hasn’t helped with in terms of variegation is my monstera aurea. That thing just wants to be brown and crunchy 🥴
You look amazing and super cute! Don’t worry about preg brain it goes away and then you get toddler brain, then lil kid brain etc… lol lol kids have a habit of messing with brain lol❤ ;) Beautiful philos I have tons of those and alocasia mainly what I collect upto 150 ish plants… I never count lol Be well, take care of yourself, take time for yourself enjoy your pregnancy and soon enough your beautiful lil baby boy will be here💙💙💙💙
Thanks Lisa!! Yeah I think I’m gonna get it fixed this month. The back is bothering me. I just need to learn how to maintain it at the length I want. How do people cut the hair on the back of their head?!

The Dean McDowell is stunning. Still one of my favorite philodendrons.
Me too Lisa!! It brings me so much happiness seeing those puffy leaves 😍
It’s think that you’re feeling a bit better; you’re looking happier & glowing. Thanks for sharing your awesome philo collection with us!

Thanks Charmaine. I agree re the Summer Glory; such a beautiful, easy grower.
Your plants are beautiful. You look very refreshed. Thanks for sharing.😊

Emotional support and I guess, companionship. lol🤭I ordered myself a Tortum and I cannot wait!
That shirt is sick!
The gloriosome with white veins is very pretty. I really like the contrast.
i feel the same about my dean mcdowell, 2 years later and still so in love 😭🥰

I seen a costa farms video… looks like they are releasing tortum soon 22:40

i've been seeing the huge tortum in the big box stores! i know i already have a big one but i would definitely be tempted by another if given the opportunity 🙊
ur plants are huge, most of mine are small guys but i like fitting them
Since the tortum isn’t using the pole, in the future, would you consider pulling it out of the pot or not using one if you repot it?
Honestly the next time I repot I probably won’t use a moss pole. Maybe just a stick for support and to keep to growing upright!
I have a philodendron green jade and need help getting ride of my propagation do you want any clippings or know anyone that would love a clipping it won’t stop growing
I didn’t realize that you had that many philodendrons.
Oh man I’m a sensory person too and the hair comments are so real. Consider an undercut so you can put the top half up and get it off your neck! I keep mine short and it still bugs me enough that I get to the point of threatening to shave it off at least twice a month. 😂

Guys! I shaved it off and it was the best decision! Grew back in about 3 months to good pixie lenth but I'm so glad I tried it❤
I heard someone else mention cal mag. Do you have a vid on explaining why and how to use it?
I don’t have a specific video on it (though I am currently brainstorming a short reference video for things like this) but I use it every other week at 1/4 strength in all plants with active growth. I’ve used it both as a foliar spray and a substrate drench!
@unplantparenthood yes!!! A reference vid!!!
What happened to your Florida Green?
I’ve just recently heard people using silica liquid to help with many problems. Have you looked into that?
She does use it, at least, with her albos, thai cons , and aureas, to help protect against the browning of the white/yellow parts.
Silica has been working pretty great for my philodendron so far. The only plant it hasn’t helped with in terms of variegation is my monstera aurea. That thing just wants to be brown and crunchy 🥴

Luv VD it’s April 21st Sunday it’s me Charmaine
Santa Claus and his Reindeer 😂
Me: I HAVE THE PERFECT COMPARISON- oh wait
No, your hair is cute. You don’t look bald, or like George Washington.
I really love your hair. You could go to a stylist to get your hair cut the length you want. At least once. You may be able to keep up with it.
Thanks Lisa!! Yeah I think I’m gonna get it fixed this month. The back is bothering me. I just need to learn how to maintain it at the length I want. How do people cut the hair on the back of their head?!
oooh pregnancy brain is real after 2 kids a piece of my old brain never came back
This is what I’ve been hearing!! Dang it 😂
I guess that's why people used to have all their kids before their brain was fully cooked at about 25. 😂🫣
Yep, you’ve got pregnancy brain. Haha! It’s got you.
1st billie great, second one i loathe hah
8:56 ✋🏻 She's a Liar..! 🤚🏻😂🤣😂 I can't stop laughing 😂
Wait so you don’t need to pot a dean mcdowel in a rectangular planter to get it to grow that big? I thought the crawling plants needed the crawl space
