Some of you have said that the Atabapoense isn't actually one. I've been doing some digging and I think it might be an Atabapoense X Billietiae... Let me know your thoughts! 💚
Hey Claire! I'm replying to your comment directly because I have some input on what it might be that other people haven't really said yet. As I see right now most people say it's a cross between billietiae and atabapoense, which I personally disagree with. I believe it's neither an atabapoense (dark more muted leaves, red abaxials), a billietiae (orange petioles that are way thicker than the petioles of your plant, and thicker leaves as well), nor is it a cross/ billietiae black (dark leaves with purple-black abaxials, also the petioles on yours look less rigid to be any of these three).
The leaf and (even the way the petiole curves) looks so so similar to the burle marx but the growth habit tells me that it isn't, the burle marx just has much more compact, "chaotic" internodes than most philodendrons. There are a number of burle marx lookalikes, which is why it's probably gonna be difficult to identify this with 100% certainty. One of the two that I know of is the philodendron sagittifolium, but the leaves on those seem much more v-shaped and less paddle-y. The other one is the philodendron acutatum, which imo bears the most resemblance to yours, but there still seems to be a slight difference with the acutatum being more ruffled than yours. But maybe that comes with maturity so there's really no telling. And as I said before, there's probably so many other burle-marx lookalikes since green-leafed paddle philodendrons seem to be a common philodendron in the wild (all of the colorful cultivars we have all originated from green versions that are in the wild, like how the painted lady is a colorful version of the red emerald philodendron).
I'm def not an expert and I'm not saying that it is an acutatum with 100% certainty, so I suggest that you at least look into what the acutatum looks like and draw your own conclusions from there. I hoped I at least took billietiae and billietiae × atabapoense off of the list though
I think it's a paraiso verde or a cross with it to be honest - the atabo x billie cross still tend to have orangey petioles, and have dark leaves - often called a billietiae dark. To me this doesn't really have any atabopoense in it as it lacks the maroon backs and the silvery dark leaves. Mystery! Beautiful no matter x
@@you_gullible_fucc feels weird replying to your name haha 😂 but totally agree 👌🏻
Came to say what “you gullible f” said. It doesn’t seem to have the same traits as either a billi or atabapoense. It’s something else
@@you_gullible_fucc I do think this is a billietiae hybrid. If you look closely there is orange in the petiole which makes it likely there is some Billie in there. I will say that an atabapoense hybrid should have more color in the abaxial but we should also be aware that not all hybrids are created equal. You can have completely different characteristics with the same cross, even from the same parents. I don’t think she’ll ever have a 100% ID without testing but i think it’s likely it has some Billietiae in the parentage.
I really like this format. Sharing your collection and intermingling facts about the genus. I think sometimes we see collections and just start a wishlist. This at least gives some foundational knowledge so viewers can make informed decisions.
Thank you, I'm really glad you found it useful 💚
Here to thank you for this format. I learned so much and will relisten a couple of times.
I’ve never seen someone own a white princess so big that’s so cool! I feel like people don’t normally give them the time or energy to grow out like that I love it!
This is one of the best “types of philodendrons” videos I’ve ever seen! Love seeing the progress on your plants!
Your Philodenron [Thaumatophyllum] looks more like a Thaumatophyllum Xanadu... either way xanadu and bipinnatifidum are both beautiful plants. I am glad you rescued it and brought it back to life :)
20:39 I’ll have you know I said Bless You to Joli every time she sneezed!
Hi Claire, I'd love to see a video on how you water your plants!! You have so many up high
I really like to see the old footage and the progress the plants did till today. Thanks for the detailed information (the fun facts).
YES THAT ONE YOU FOUND ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, KEEP IT, THOSE ARE VERY EXPENSIVE TO BUY AND ABSOLUTELY AWESOME,
Love your videos............. also love Philodendrons. My local supermarket brought in 3 dozen Paraiso Verdes and they didn't sell. So they marked them all down to $1.17, well I ended up buying quite a few even though I don't have room for them.
I love philodendrons! I watched this twice in a row to get all of the very helpful information. Thank you!
One of the best videos I have seen on philodendrons, I have learned a lot and have discovered new types I would love to acquire! Thank you.
Claire I love your videos and you. Your plant excitement is beautiful and I appreciate how you care for your plants like your babies. I think they feel your love and love you back in their growth! Philodendrons are my favourites so thank you for this and all your facts! ❤😊
I love this type of video! You really have a lovely collection, and i like all the facts you put in there as well as growth updates. Excited for the next one🤩
Great video! Love the facts & Philodendron is one of my favorite type of plants. You have some gorgeous ones!
Thanks for all the various information about the topic, I’m sure it’s extra work for you yet you make it so so interesting
You’re doing so well
Happy you like your new place
Thank you for a very informative video with lots of interesting facts. You’ve obviously put quite some work into researching all these facts. Thanks again Claire, very much enjoyed this video.
I love philodendron! Thanks for sharing your collections and tips for plant care are great ! New fan here! 😊
Very informative and entertaining. Love the fun facts intermingled with vids and great examples of the actual plants - the good, the bad, and the struggle is real! 🌱❤
I love phillys too! My collection is not as big as yours but I'm working on it! I learned a couple things in your video so thank you!
Looking forward to your next video!
The covers you make for your pots are lovely ❤ Your collection is beautiful 👍
This is a GREAT you tube video. The fun facts are also a great addition, knowing it was a lot of effort and time, thanks, Always enjoy what you post., thanks Claire
Great video! Great content! Very informative. Thank you for sharing.
Just subscribed this week. I loved all the interesting tidbits of info.
I loved this! I learned so many new things about philodendrons. You have a very nice collection!!
I REALLY enjoyed this super informative video! I would love to see you do other genus’ as well 😊
Wow!! 😮 I am so impressed and totally mad for your channel.
This tour of your plants was absolutely amazing. I really, really appreciate that you present the good, the bad, and the ugly because we all have some of those. The tour was just so true and honest, and given your recent move, being on holiday and life just getting in the way of things, I think you and your plants have actually done remarkably well. That doesn't even take into consideration finding the exact right spot for each plant in your new home!
So you have a new subscriber and I'm very excited about finding you! 🤗 I'm already looking forward to watching another video of yours.
So cheers. Carry on. See you next time. ❤ 🎉 😊
Amazing collection! I find the Paraiso Verde grows really fast an no special conditions. Got a small one spring it grew 4 ft over summer. 💚🎄
That VARRIGATED RUBBER TREE!!! OMG! I just got a baby a month ago! Im gonna buy another to plant 2 in a bigger pot. Hope they look like yours in a yr or so. 🥰😍
I love the silver sword. Im more of a fern, peperomia and begonia girl but I absolutely love your videos and they have made me appreciate the beauty of other types of plants.
I love ferns too, but have not been successful. I'm hoping when my epiprenum pinnatum and anthurium pedatoradiatum mature they will satisfy my desire for feathery foliage.
I really enjoyed your video. I am in love with the silver sword.
Q. What are you using to train your vines to climb on the wall / ceiling?
Q. Is there an easy way to water hanging plants?
Love your new place! It’s gorgeous! And so much light! ❤
Such gorgeous plants and these videos are super helpful for new collectors like me! Would love to see an alocasia video
Thank u for always sharing 💓 Beautiful collection 🪴🍃🥹
Great informative video...I was able to identify some of the plants I have thru this video...Thanks
Really appreciative of all the effort you put into this vid for us 🙏
"Philodendron" plant fanatic! (I thought I was bad) 🤣 Oh, I LOVED THIS! 💚💚💚
Such an informative video! Loved how long it was ❤
You have an amazing collection! Love the channel ❤️
I have watched a few plant videos of yours for some time and i ask myself why I didn't subscribe sooner?? I love hearing someone else's collection and collecting tips and tricks as well as learning where everyones living to know what their plant experience is
On the Soderoi Aff, if you cut between the nodes on the stem and leave in the trough, the 'chuncks' will push out new growth points. So you'll have 4-5 new plants that you can start over with.
I absolutely loved the quick tips and educational info!
Philodendrons are my favourites and I have 13 myself!! (And do want more 😂). So glad you made this video 🥰 xxx
I would chop your sodori and start again. Maybe do a soak with a peroxide/ water mix to kill any potential pests on the wet sticks and let it put its energy into starting over. Plus if the leaves are making you sad you won't have to look at them over the winter.
That's what I would do anyways.
All the best in 2023 and thank you for such enjoyable content Clare 😊
We live an ocean apart but my PPP AND brantianum behave and look just like yours. My PPP was gorgeous outside all summer and all half moons are now brown now that it is inside. Two 100% pink leaves gone as well. To more shared successes and set backs. 😂😊 Thank you for sharing your collection!
Fab long video - perfect to watch whilst going my Christmas wrappings
Loved this video. More like this please 🙏
Plants that grow sprawling like ground cover that you mentioned you 'didn't have room for' should be grown as hanging plants...that's what makes a cascading houseplant, a tropical ground cover...great show with tons of beautiful plants...thank you!...x
I was sad to see your Micans. I know they are more common, but I have been really enjoying mine and it has actually become a top favorite. She is extra bronzy and the velvety SHINE when the light hits her is to die for.
Great ❤video I love the fun facts information.
Love your channel x
Emma when these one leafers get growing , lovely you are going to need more space! Wow what a extensive collection ! ❤
wow just found you........I work in LECA, so of course i love all the philos. I just bought a Philo Hope.....it is growing crazy. Question? Will it be happier on a climbing moss poss? or on a shorter shallow pot, to crawl on the table? Looking forward to more
Your Philodendron collection looks absolute incredible 😊😍🥰
Informative and enthusiastic!
How do you stump yours?
Where do you get your mini grow lights ?
All have grown so much,👍
💚🌵🌱☘️💚
Hi Claire, thank you for this great video! A quick comment - I went to the video’s description to see if you had written where you got the new moss pole from and noticed that your text was about hoyas :)
Oh dammit, I'm a numpty (copied and pasted the template and forgot to proof read) 😂 thank you for letting me know! I made a moss pole just like that in my last repot and chat video 💚
@@TheJungleHaven yes, I read the other comment, and I’m on my way there just as soon as I’ve finished this one ;) thank you
love the videos- what mix is in your moss pole?
Ouh ouh i will definitely be buying some more plants! you make me spend so much money 😂
These are my FAVORITE plants! I can’t stop buying them!
Such a beautiful collection!
Will you be doing a video like this for your alocasias and anthuriums?
ilove the fact u give info for each plant
wow, I loved watching this video so much!
Great video, not sure what is more beautiful, the philidendrons or you.
Hey there! I just bought a lupinum not too long ago myself and according to my research they like moss poles and require support for their leaves to size up and change shape (the juveniles do look like micans but then they will end up being long and lobey as adults).
I cannot attest to this just yet with it not being growing season right now and all but it might be worth a try! You might have faster results in the cabinet, too. :)
Are those the ones that are rly hard to grow? I’ve not dared yet
I use little plastic ball watering sticks for the top of my moss poles, they work really well and look nice too.
Thank you, for the great video. I’m also having problems with my Pink Princess so if you could share your rehab tips as a video that would really help me. 🙏🏻
Hello, what's that glass cabinet with lights please?thanks.luv ur videos.💯❤💜💋
This was great. Thanks.
I need to know if you ever quarantine new plants!?
I am always inpatient to give them their spot between my other plants after checking, cleaning and treating them obviously...if I find it healthy I never waited 40 days like some recommend! haven't even watched your video Jet
Now I am going to :)
In love with your videos 🥰
Thank you so much! I try to keep them separate from my other plants (as in not putting them right in the middle of others) but as my collection grows, actually isolating new plants in an individual space is near impossible. I always make sure to check them over super thoroughly, and continue to check for the coming weeks 💚
@@TheJungleHaven thank you for taking the time 🙏☺️
That sounds more realistic and sustainable for me too 😀
I usually treat mine with essential oils, Neem and hydrogen peroxide as soon as I take them home anyway unless they are too wet and need to dry first.
I feel more at ease like that :)
Than I keep them far from other plants for up to a week or so..
If I were to notice something wrong with my plant I would isolate it though
@@TheJungleHaven
You are so lovely ✨🪴
You should TOTALLY’ make a video of how you make your pots! I’ve tried to DIY a few for my plants and.. they aren’t exactly looking as cute as yours! 😭😭😭
Yeah I’m the first one to look at and like your video!
I loved this video, and your white princess and painted lady are so beautiful
This video is fantastic
Yay! My favourite genus! 😍
I love ur program and ur knowledge of the Philodendron plant. What do u plant ur plants in? It looks different from other soils I've used. I appreciate ue feedback...Just Me, Yo!
I really like the mospoles you use aspecially the ones with the plastic back (half round). You make these youre self, or buy them somewhere?
What wire mesh are you using, really couldn’t see it…that’s good. give more information about the plastic and mesh, where are you can purchase, come in rolls and how much.thanks for any help.thank you, enjoy your show tremendously, keep up the good work😊
Okay I literally went plant shopping mid-video 😂
"Sorry if you buy more plants after this." 😅 I'm just viewing the Philodendron Splendid portion of the video and it just so happens that I had paused my plant search on FB Marketplace at an ad for the sale of a "Splendid" cutting. I can't tell if it's rooted or not, though. *** $10.00!!! *** 😮
I like the "brown princess" 😉
Watching this video makes me want to buy more philodendron varieties 😂😂😂 Your Paraiso Verde needs more light btw to produce more variegation. 💜
Hi Claire just watching your video love love them can you tell me what you use to stick on the wall to attach the heart leaf up the wall and do they peel off paint when you remove them thanks
Thanks Lisa! The clips seem to be working well for me so far - I got them on amazon: amzn.to/3FMAJDx
Don't know about the paint thing... I'm hoping not, but I can't say for sure as I haven't taken any off yet 💚
What do you use for making your moss poles like to out the moss in
How do I get my Pink princess to grow bigger? I bought one from a seller and she is shooting out new leaves, but they are really small. Any tips?
Love your content! I have learned soooo much from you!
Such nice specimens. Surprised you don't have the Super Atom or Xanadu.
Hi claire today i get my philodendron burle marx should i set it in moss?
I like cut off if up post pls your post are really helpful and amazing thank for your info
Bin plant!!! Amazing!!!
hello, I am considering trying moss poles for my philodendrons, does any of you have an address where I can buy a couple of moss poles like the one on the video around 16:45, I can't find them on amazon ...... thanks
I found another great channel sister in plant hood!
Really fun ^_^
I learned that all the philodendron flowers don’t fully open some crack open just a tad. ❤
The lupinum needs a pole asap. The growth will change shape and size dramatically as it matures, but definitely needs a pole do “do anything”
Did you find what those marks on the velvet of the philodendron is? I think its common, I see it on my calathea velvet leaves
When you chop and prop does the life expectancy start over or is the life expectancy start only from seed?
Like if you chop a plant that's grown from seed at 5yrs old are the propagations considered 5 years old or brand new?
I can tell you one thing for Absolute Certain ... I am going to have to find a local plant swap. I bought two more plants while I was watching this video!! 😅
Where can I get the moss pole like yours?
I got my thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum out of garbage bin too!
What’s the super dark plant with the white veins right below your tv?
