You can almost picture real people being like this in the olden days. Courting a girl ,everyone sharing in on the music for free. Very nice, except for reality when the cops pull up. I kinda think this is close to how it really was in the 1930's . At least on a good day.
Never much liked Disney animations even as a kid. However I love these early, almost primitive cartoons. Much more entertaining. And I love the way everything is given a personality, even the trees and clocks. Flip is the coolest cartoon character.
Part of me can't help but wonder if the single line of shaving cream beneath the dog's left eye at 6:00 might be a subtle allusion to the eye cutting scene from "Un Chien Andalou"
I thought a frog with a cat for a girlfriend was strange. But then I remembered that we think it's normal for Kermit to marry Miss Piggy! This cartoon was ahead of its time!
I will have you know that Betty Boop used to be a dog herself!! Then she slowly changed to a human. That is why her dog boy friend had to be gotten rid of.
@@kimball4151 I'm well aware of that pal. Betty Boop was half human half canine and made her first debut in the 1930 cartoon DIZZY DISHES. Bimbo himself looked very different from the one we're all familiar with. Betty looked quite ugly in that cartoon, but got pleasant makeover by 1931 even as a half dog.
I'm 73 and still love these cartoons from my parents generation. I get a good laugh just watching the opening with Flip playing the piano.
All I can say is that Flip the Frog is the GREATEST musician that ever lived.

The centipede is terrific! But the poor cow - first she gets dumped, and then can't sleep through all the partying. But I guess she "won" in the end.
i love flip the frog!
My father and l love Flip. Al Tv never lost that. It was in 1947 more or less. I love you flip!
2:42 "Damn!"

Originally released in May 1931.
Inspiration for Ribby and croaks

@@blinkz64 I think she was saying she likes 1930s cartoons and 90s cartoons
😅😅😮well information good show 😅
Clearly inspired by the 1928 Oswald the Rabbit: Rival Romeos (but with sound and much better animation)
0:00 Flip them. Flip them. Flip them.
0:59 Haters gonna hate
Holy crap that thing with the crow was disturbing.
As Seen on Toon In with Me
Can cats HAVE tadpoles???

I guess the moral of the story is "fuck 12"

@@67nairb since your the expert, tell me how is it that Bimbo the dog tuned into Bimbo the Clown with the voice of Cab Calloway. I'm confused.🤔
