1931, Flip is the first of at least 4 cartoons based on the Village Smithy. Next comes 1936 Tex Avery's almost infinitely funny Village Smithy, then in 1942 Disney does it starring Donald Duck and Columbia a black and white by Frank Tashlin starring the not too charismatic Pete Pelican (but he does a good job anyway). So hat's off to the ever creative Ub Iwerks and Flip.

Every Flip frog cartoon is great.
Did you know that UB I Works was the previous creator at Walt Disney’s studio?
Pretty liberal for then. A cat and frog relationship. Maybe interspecies marriage? Lol
