Do you use any burley bro? Seems like you tend to prefer fresh/caught baits rather than a bag of pillies. A spot I like to go offers alot of jack macks/piper/yellow eye mullet ,and watching your videos, I think I should go with fresh bait more often! Awesome content bro, keeps getting better and better! There are occasions when something oily like a pillie cube or skippy will work quicker, but 95%plus I would choose a fresh bait over anything else with a live bait being the absolute freshest.
This size fish is a breeder, this is not a young fish - we need to take care with this age of fish - you should release them back. Take home the smaller size for eating.
I was going to suggest they should have encouraged the NZ way, which is to photo op and release. So much excitement gets in the way of good practice. They way it was dragged up the rocks suggests it became a keeper...
