Great video Jon. Thanks for always passing on the knowledge that you acquire along the way to make things better and more efficient for other members of the community. I know I appreciate all the time you have taken in the past to answer questions and give me advice thru fb messenger also . I know how busy you are with all of this your job and your family and it shows to me what kind of business that you are running by always taking time to make these videos and talk to people on fb even if they are not buying something from you that day. As I continue to get deeper into all of this and grow as a hobby breeder you will definately have a loyal repeat customer in me . As I have told you before being just right over in ohio I hope to one day be able to drive over and make a purchase from you and see the facility in person. Thanks, Rocky Joe. 👍
Were finally to the point where we have extra rats and were maintaining our collection. Its so expensive to but frozen thawd. I buy new adults once in a while to get new blood in. We also have mice and asf. It's my personal opinion but I think the lab containers are too small for the rats. We did diy racks and bought really long bins at a restaurant container store. Plastic is thick and durable and there are tons of different sizes.
I'm in NY and getting feeders is freaking impossible. I use rodentpro , but there is always an animal that requires live, at least sometimes. It's a headache honestly
Hey so i have a corn snake and a ball python that will eat only live and i cant switch it to frozen. I have to drive 2 hours to buy live rats which is a PAIN. So i got a pair and started breeding my own, but i want to seperate the mom when she gives birth, but the problem is i cant leave the dad alone, but if i get another female and if she gives birth too i have to seperate her too, so what do i do ?
You can rotate females with the male, leave the female in with the male after giving birth, or leave the male alone. Those are really your only options. Leaving female in with male after birth shouldn't effect the pinkys, but dad may keep trying to breed her which will exhaust her if she's constantly pregnant.
We do 3 mamas and one daddy never touch them or remove the dad every 35 days we average 40 to 34 rat pups in each bin untill they get around 7 months in the mamas
I like Reptile Basics. I ordered a Vivarium 300 2X on Sunday and got it Wednesday morning. Great company!

Ive had mice escape from the rat tubs. They squeeze out in the V ends of hopper
