Remember you must have installed Rosetta 2 to make it function! PS.If your ps3 controller doesn't stop vibrating its probably because you've got a fake controller.
well that sucks is there anyway to use them because im pretty sure both of my controllers are prob fake
I compiled the source file and the app runs and makes the controller rumble on my M1 mac, but it still isn't recognized in Dolphin for whatever reason.
I got it to work. No rosetta. Just compile it:
cc -framework CoreFoundation -framework IOKit -o ds3activate
I've got 3 DualShock 3 controllers. One came originally with the ps3 the other two were bought at a reputable brick and mortar store years ago. All 3 keep rumbling. How does that work?

Thank you so much for this! I am using DS4 and wouldn't work on my M1 macOS Sonoma. It wasn't working on Overcooked 2 (Steam Game) but after installing this it finally worked!!! THANKS!!
Thanks for mentioning this! I haven't gotten my PS4 controller to work with that particular game. But I _can_ use my two PS3-controllers with Overcooked 2 on my M2 mac using Sonoma! I think that game is almost unplayable using a keyboard so now I can finally play it!

Is there a version of this for the Dualshock 2 controller? MacOS says it detects it as a Twin USB Joystock but nothing is usable with it, I tried the Dualshock 3 script but it didn't work

Thanks for the video but unfortunately it doesn't work on my Mac Monterey 12.7. When I run "ds3activate" my controller just start to vibrate (on and off) but with OpenEmu I'm not able to use it. I can select the dualschock3 from the controllers menu but it seems that the mac is not getting inputs from it. Anyone has been able to solve this?

I have a PANHAI Knockoff PS3 joystick, and mine was constantly rumbling, I disconnected it and connected again al it was still recognizing it. It works with RPCS3.

Works on ventura 13.4. I tried an old sixaxis controller (no vibration) and the script works fine. Unfortunately there is no way to use it wirelessly..

@@--AurelZahreinAmalia I found a workaround. You need to download & run RPCS3, connect your controller, click on pads and press save. Voila! Your controller should now be working just fine.

Okay my red controller rumbled and then stopped and then rumbles again and then stops and rumbles again. The cycle keeps going. Then my black controller didn't rumble at all but the lights are blinking. Are one of these fakes?
Genuine ds3 has sticker on back with light blue font and really black background. "Sony model no.cechzc2e" on top. Wirreless controller text with battery specs, CE marking etc. on the middle and the very bottom of the sticker has quite small, but very readable silver backed area which has barcode and serial number. I highly doubt that fake would have this sticker.
