Just a small note, some airlines won’t allow over the shoulder bags or certain colours so it’s probably not worth buying the expensive rimowa bags if you’re still in training since you may or may not be allowed to use them later on in the airlines
I’m 15 and wanting to into flight school in the next couple years, I have many questions but 1 is my grades could be better do I need good grades to get into flight school
Loved the video. I just have a quick question regarding if you minded doing a video on a pilots salary based in the UK, as I couldn't find much information on that topic online.
It depends on the airline but for British Airways apparently they offer £80,000 starting up to £160,000. I don’t know if it’s long or short haul but you need to do some digging. Try going to the Pilot Careers Live’s RUclips channel
Hi oli !, i went to pilots career live in heathrow but was a bit disappointed to see you weren't there, regardless, leading edge school were definitely among my top picks. I even mentioned your name and another pilot knew who you were 😂😂😂
@@PilotOli that's good to hear, also can i ask since CAE were there why you didn't choose them but instead leading edge just so it can give me a better perspective on things. Was it down to lack of accommodation or no dual licensing?
@@Tickleme3 my flight school gave me one. But I’d recommend one with a stand for flight school if your flight school doesn’t give you one. Helps with revision!
hey! question. say i already knew i wanted to work for easyjet (so airbus only) can i train exclusively to pilot them? or is it generic training all round?
Great question! You can apply for some airlines before flight school and they will help you through training and offer a job at the end. Although I don’t believe easyJet do this at the moment but they have previously. Equally there are some negatives to doing it this way. I went in with no connection to an airline, and it does allow more options post flight school. You can always do a couple years at another airline and then go to easyJet after, equally lots of people who had no connection to easyJet did get a job there after training. Hope that helps!
@ ahh okay interesting, thank you! so say for example i went to work for BA, but was only qualified to fly airbus’, is that possible? or would i have to know both in order to work for an airline that operate both? sorry to be so much of a bother
@EthanBecauseI have talked to many pilots and have them as my friends. I have the same want where I would rather fly Airbus only. All who I have spoken to have told me to focus on the dream, not what aircraft I want to fly, as the main thing is to get up in the air and start flying.
@EthanBecause so, the airline will decide what aircraft you will fly and then type rate you on that aircraft. So if you come knowing how to fly an A380, let’s say, the airline will either put you on their A380 or give you a TR for another aircraft, say an A350. They have the final say.
This video is really interesting and your channel has been a part of my inspiration to be a pilot in the future. I was wondering whether you are affected by the frequent pressure changes, or do you get used to it?
Hey oli. I've just done my first every flying lesson today in the c152. It was amazing. During the flight I asked about scholarships and they said there are loads of them but i cant find any for 14 yr olds. What should i do? Do you have any recommendations. Also have you got any tips for being accepted for scholarships. Love the vids. One day i'll be up there like you. 😁
What was your experience with getting the base you wanted because in from Dublin and am hoping to fly for ryanair and am wondering about my chances of being based in Dublin
some people might consider this a stupid question but how did you get the money for flight training (unless sponsored) because ive wanted to be a pilot since 5 (now 16) but dont have the funds going to apply for speedbird pikot academy when im 17 but preparing for plan b in case i dont make the cut, so is there anything i should do? im going to college to study car mechanics and earn money that way too but if theres any idea id be more than happy to hear them, Thanks
Yes sure so, you can apply for other fully funded schemes, go into the raf, take out a massive loan, or, work until you have saved enough to do a course

Great advice! But yes it’s airline dependent. Most UK airlines I know do allow them

With a big base like Dublin you’ll probably get it. You might have to do your line training elsewhere but then you should be based there
