I just wanna say I met Avril Lavigne when I was 14. She was extremely nice even though my grandma took the picture and didn’t know how to use a digital camera so we stood there smiling for a good 10 min awkwardly until my grandma finally took the picture. I had a pleasant experience meeting her and she was super sweet about it and she’s so gorgeous in real life even more than the pictures. I don’t know about other people’s experiences meeting her but she was so kind and sweet with me so I just wanted to put that out there haha

Regular people sat at the bottom and certain celebrities whom came to see the film also watched but they sat at the top (above us) This theater was near the Hollywood walk of fame. When I came out I saw her and she was trying to get into a car. My mom and me approached and asked if we could take a quick photo she said yes. She was really nice and the photo did take long because my grandma took it and didn’t know how to use the camera but eventually she took the photo I said thank you and she smiled and got into the car. I was very excited as I was also a huge fan of hers my whole life. I was a in my early teens and this happened in the early 2000s

Avril is so sweet. Years ago, my cousin went to see her at a concert and at the end, she waited at the backstage door to ask Avril to sign her shirt. The time for signing was over though and she didn’t think it was gonna happen. But a security guard saw my cousin, took her to the backstage room Avril was in and she signed it for her, with no problems. Even sat and spoke to her for a few minutes. Avril is so sweet.
There was a story about James Corden and his wife and child on an airplane. Passengers said that he made his wife carry their carry on's and their child ( while the child was crying) and he absolutely refused to help her in any way

Personally if I was famous, I wouldn't really interact with fans when I'm just going about my day... It's mentally exhausting, I don't like interacting with strangers or have them touching me, and not everyday is a good day, so to me it would be important to adress personal space. I agree completely but also there qre many artists in k-pop industry the have been in training long before that and start their official career around this age. Celebrities are humans too who want personal space for them and their family. I have a personal story of this happening. I was at a football (not American football) of my moms “little” nephew. He played of the Dutch football club AZ and the Dutch national team. After the game we met him in a family lounge. When we went to go home we went home as well. It took him 5 minutes to walk 50 meters because of all the fans who wanted to take pictures with him. When he was near his car a couple of fans came up to him asking for a picture. He ignored them because he wanted to say goodbye to his family. Now this may seem rude but he had taken dozens of pictures with fans while trying to get to his car. Celebrities want personal space too.
my friend went on the late late show and watched (she was in the audience) and he was actually super kind. celebrities do also have bad days or days where some people may perceive "guys, can you clap louder it cant be heard on camera" in a normal tone being rude and screaming, it's all personal perspective

Caring and wanting a little more space or just not feeling safe is different. Meaning You can care about your fans but making sure you are safe and comfortable is important too, it is not being rude.
Honestly it makes sense for celebrities to seem irritated when interacting with strangers. Look at how the general public acts when just shopping at Target. People can get really rude and demanding. The Karen who screams at the cashier over an expired coupon is the same person approaching these people and asking for a picture or a hug. I feel like the better judge is how they are at scheduled events and working with people in the industry. So like if Ariana Grande was a total douche to her fans during or after a concert or she acted like a diva with her label, then it would be reasonable to say she is rude. But if someone just approached her at a Starbucks and she blew the dude off, then that's understandable. Because that's actually kind of scary to just be approached and not know if someone is a weirdo or not.
I met Vanessa Carlton twice, both at small concert venues with no more than 100 people in the audience. When I came up to her in the relatively small line to have her sign an album or something, she’s behind a table and wouldn’t even engage in any conversation with me at all. I tried to tell her that she is my favorite singer and songwriter, and she didn’t even smile both times. I couldn’t even take a picture with her. I just got rushed along. It really made a difference in how I see her!

I just wanna say I met Avril Lavigne when I was 14. She was extremely nice even though my grandma took the picture and didn’t know how to use a digital camera so we stood there smiling for a good 10 min awkwardly until my grandma finally took the picture. I had a pleasant experience meeting her and she was super sweet about it and she’s so gorgeous in real life even more than the pictures. I don’t know about other people’s experiences meeting her but she was so kind and sweet with me so I just wanted to put that out there haha
The thing is she didnt act nice to those friends based on the country they were from, which is pretty rude... (because that is the reason not because she just wants space)

@@alltooswiftie yes! I was watching a documentary film in Hollywood about poor children in other countries.. it was a charity event. You have to buy tickets because they are limited. Regular people sat at the bottom and certain celebrities whom came to see the film also watched but they sat at the top (above us) This theater was near the Hollywood walk of fame. When I came out I saw her and she was trying to get into a car. My mom and me approached and asked if we could take a quick photo she said yes. She was really nice and the photo did take long because my grandma took it and didn’t know how to use the camera but eventually she took the photo I said thank you and she smiled and got into the car. I was very excited as I was also a huge fan of hers my whole life. I was a in my early teens and this happened in the early 2000s

Avril is so sweet. Years ago, my cousin went to see her at a concert and at the end, she waited at the backstage door to ask Avril to sign her shirt. The time for signing was over though and she didn’t think it was gonna happen. But a security guard saw my cousin, took her to the backstage room Avril was in and she signed it for her, with no problems. Even sat and spoke to her for a few minutes. Avril is so sweet.

I'm not a Justin fan, however there still are a few of his newer songs that I like. Does that mean I deserve a hug and a picture from him? No it doesn't. if he doesn't want to be bothered at the moment, you should respect his wishes he's a human being too. He's not a person who is required to hug, interact, and take pictures with everyone he meets. Do I think he could've been nicer about it at times? I was at a football (not American football) of my moms “little” nephew. He played of the Dutch football club AZ and the Dutch national team. After the game we met him in a family lounge. When we went to go home we went home as well. It took him 5 minutes to walk 50 meters because of all the fans who wanted to take pictures with him. When he was near his car a couple of fans came up to him asking for a picture. He ignored them because he wanted to say goodbye to his family. Now this may seem rude but he had taken dozens of pictures with fans while trying to get to his car. Celebrities want personal space too.
Moral of the story celebs ask politely not to have photos etc and fans respect boundaries no need for behaving awfully

It's stupid people say celebrities are rude but half the time they're swarmed by fans invading personal space and when they snap or they don't want a picture but there are also some times when they are rude in general but it's sad that people call them rude smh
Caring and wanting a little more space or just not feeling safe is different.
Meaning You can care about your fans but making sure you are safe and comfortable is important too, it is not being rude.
Justin Bieber is more human than the others tbh, he’s kinda just a dude while the others play really heavy into the spotlight
Honestly it makes sense for celebrities to seem irritated when interacting with strangers. Look at how the general public acts when just shopping at Target. People can get really rude and demanding. The Karen who screams at the cashier over an expired coupon is the same person approaching these people and asking for a picture or a hug.
I feel like the better judge is how they are at scheduled events and working with people in the industry. So like if Ariana Grande was a total douche to her fans during or after a concert or she acted like a diva with her label, then it would be reasonable to say she is rude. But if someone just approached her at a Starbucks and she blew the dude off, then that's understandable. Because that's actually kind of scary to just be approached and not know if someone is a weirdo or not.
I met Vanessa Carlton twice, both at small concert venues with no more than 100 people in the audience. When I came up to her in the relatively small line to have her sign an album or something, she’s behind a table and wouldn’t even engage in any conversation with me at all. I tried to tell her that she is my favorite singer and songwriter, and she didn’t even smile both times. I couldn’t even take a picture with her. I just got rushed along. It really made a difference in how I see her!
I don't understand why some celebrities hate their fans. I understand not being in the mood, or not wanting to take pictures or put all of you attention to your fans, but just straight up hating them is a no. Like you would be nowhere without them.

I think Justin is different than mostly every celebrity you see. People forget that the man was literally a global sensation and grew up in front of the world. His ENTIRE life has been nothing but zero privacy and paparazzi. He more than anyone has every right to refuse whatever tf he wants. Let him live. He’s not the devil, he’s actually very chill for his circumstances.

Yes. I used to dislike him, but he's matured so much and I realized how hard it would be to be going through adolescence and have every move you make scrutinized by the public and torn apart for any mistakes.

Tbh it’s Alr for celebrities to say no to hugs and pictures because they might be going through some stuff or in a tough time and like it’s really weird for them because your basically hugging a stranger
For Justin u said he refused to take pictures which imo is fine. Celebs can have days where they don't feel like taking photos. Its one thing if he was rude about it tho.

Sometimes I think when a celebrity doesn’t want to take a photo or something the paparazzi will get mad and say false,bad,rumors about them.

Celebs who dont want to go close to fans is justified. I think we've had numerous instances when fans were touching inappropriately, throwing flour etc. Refusing hugs is not RUDE, no everyone likes to be hugged by a stranger, fans or not they're still strangers.
What people don't understand is, these "famous people" are just that- People!
They are NOT obligated to interact with ANYONE they don't know.

Some people need to respect that celebrities are actual people and they cannot want to do something because they don't want to have to do something. They don't have to have a reason because no is no. Being a fan gives you no right or entitlement to anything from your favorite artist
