My wife, Erin, and I used over 500,000 credit card miles and points to take a 3 month honeymoon. So today I'm going to break down exactly how we pulled this off including what cards we used, how we earned the points, and of course the most fun part…how we redeemed them for amazing travel experiences so that you can do the exact same thing!

OK, now we need a video on how to get 3 months off from work :-/
Hahaha…valid point!
I second that notion 😉
Ask for it. We just took 6 months out. We spoke to our employers who, as good employees, wanted us back and gave us a sabbatical. We’re sharing our travels on RUclips and are just about to go back to work.
Really enjoying the Daily Drop videos. I’ve been travel hacking for a long time, but I love these back to basics videos - keep my knowledge up to date. What a great adventure you and your wife went on!
This video is amazing but i do have to say …. 3 months of hotels on only 300-350k hotel points has me scratching my head…would love to see your actual redemption breakdowns. Thats like 3-4k a night which seems insanely low for Europe.
They stayed in AirBnB's. He mentioned 3 that they used as bases.
Got the Venture X after this video!
So much information, thanks for sharing. I am so excited and terrified to use my points. I don’t want to goof it. I applaud you for trying so many options in one trip.
I would be very interested to know how much exactly you spent out of pocket for those 3 months of travel
Thank you for the fantastic information. I am new to the travel hacking journey and sometimes get discouraged. Watching this video gives me hope and keeps me motivated to keep going on this journey. Do you have a RUclips channel yourself?
I got the chase card a couple months ago and I am so excited to redeem my points for the first time!!!! Thanks for the tips!
This is amazing! Question - when you say you used an AirBnB as a "central hub," I presume you paid for a month and then stayed at various hotels mixed into that month?
So after you've spent the sign-up bonus points, how long does is actually take to accrue a decent amount of points that are worth a flight somewhere?
Our wedding in 1999 was around $15,000 so $30K now seems about right.
Problem we live in the Netherlands and only have American express for getting the bonus points or are there other travel creditcards ?
So so cool
Thanks so much!:)
The wedding people don’t charge a fee for taking a credit card ??
I'm confused what the thinking was between paying for monthly AirBnB's and traveling some nights and paying for hotels. Did I misunderstand or were you paying for two places a night?
My question: Which is better, to book a one month Airbnb at around a 50% discount (as done above) and then book transport everywhere you’d like to go or to move cities once a week while saving on transportation. (There’s a smaller discount on weekly Airbnb bookings.)
I"m a full time traveler and I can't see the advantage of ever booking two places a night. You could do the math and see if a monthly AirBnB outweighs the cost of a weekly AirBnBs in between hotel stays. I can't believe that would be cost effective. If I am doing monthly stays somewhere I never travel anywhere during that period.
Does the Capital One travel credit negate any points you would've earned by booking through the portal or do you still get points for the full amount of the booking?
Quick question! In our experience, you get the travel credit, and the points, which is pretty sweet! Not sure if they have changed this in the fine print, but the last time I use my travel credit a few months ago this was the case.
This is exactly the question I was looking for. Thanks for answering!
This is awesome, but does anyone have tips on cards that give you all these benefits for non US based people? I'm from Latin America and the "best" credit cards here give you LifeMiles at best and those don't get you pretty much anything.
Now that is a Honeymoon...... just awesome.... Too bad the AirB&B's were paid in cash..... Very interesting with lots of great tips as usual..... So important not to pay interest on Credit Cards
Who here has 500,000 points??
It’s not that difficult with all the cc points
This is definitely an extreme example but could be done on a much smaller scale for sure!
Just started a few months TONS of down time between cards about to hit 700k…1 million a year is pretty easy if your monthly spending is about 2k+ a month (which with todays inflation most people do)
Also happy to help with any questions if you have any
Should tell Kara and Nate that somehow there was just a FAKE live stream on their channel..... It's off now
