    This isn't a repair, this is a remanufacture! When you casually said "remove all the components to see what kind of damage we're talking about" gobsmacked! And subscribed!

    Watching this very video has helped me save a copy of Ruby! the + pad was completely gone, I would run a wire through the via to the end point, still not getting the battery working, until I watched your video, and saw that the + terminal also goes to "R9", attached it to there and wham!!! saveing is now possible :)
    Thank you :)

    I'm telling you, there was for sure a better way to troubleshoot this. Like getting a known working cart and replacing some of the main components, or at the very least checking for continuity. Maybe even comparing resistances between the traces on a working cart vs a non working cart.

    • @Solder_king
      @Solder_king  2 года назад +1

      Well yeah but that isn't the point of this video. This was started by saying how over the top it was. Obviously, a brand new PCB would be the way to go but again not the point. As far as troubleshooting goes I found almost every via to not have continuity so that's about where that ends.

    I have a strange copy of pokemon ruby that won't boot. I don't know where it originally came from. It was given to me by a friend many years ago before ruby was released. At best this is a early prototype of ruby with rough English translations and at worst it's just a bootleg copy of ruby that someone started to translate. I remember torchic had a name like fire chicken.
