Cerbios Now supports XboxHDMI and HD+ BUT....

- In this video we take a look at an early Proof of concept builds of Cerbios that adds support for the Makemhz HD+ and XboxHDMI.
This build is not released to the public yet and I haven't been given an ETA on when this will be released as of now but I suspect this will be getting ironed out and released quite soon.
If you purchased the StellarHD+ you are totally out of luck as those are designed to only function once connected to a stellar. This will only work for the older Hd+ or the xboxhdmi.
Cerbios is completely free and works on any tsop and the the most basic of modchips available.
If you don't already have an older xboxhdmi or hd+, stay posted to this thread here and see what nemesis ends up cooking up.

There's also the Retro Gem from Pixel Fx will likely be adding xbox support very soon. If it's anything like their other products, these should just work with whatever bios and application that you throw at it.

It's really funny. I went Softmod (back in the day, I'm talking like '06/'07, before the All-In-One tools like Hexen came out) --> TSOP with Cerbios recently --> Project Stellar --> Xenium Black Ice with Cerbios.
I watched your video about Project Stellar being a letdown (for the cost/what it advertises), and I agree right now. I mostly bought it as a no-frills modchip because I liked the polish. But there are some things that I think are bizarre, like how you can't flash or load any custom BIOSes at all (besides StellarOS). It also introduces input lag in my games, like 007 Nightfire. For whatever reason, there's a noticeable difference with Cerbios/Evo M8+. Then there are the little things, like the boot animation lagging at 720p with Stellar and not being able to turn off the boot animation altogether. I also couldn't get Xbox One controller support working with my Series controller, even though it's one of the main reasons I bought the chip. I even completely formatted the HDD in both FatXplorer and StellarOS itself. Same issues.
And worst of all -- I'm a MakeMHz fan, but I asked a few questions via email to their support email. They replied and told me to join their Discord. Their Discord just has Welcome / Announcements. So I paid $100 for a chip that does, at least right now, the same or less than Cerbios (which is free and doesn't even require a modchip). I don't like that I can't see what he (MakeMHz) is working on via beta releases or anything, even though the option is there.
And now, I ordered the Xenium RGB kit off eBay, so using the Xenium chip is not a question. I like Stellar and I think it's amazing that we have a Raspberry Pi running in an Xbox. But I feel like I'm walking through a tunnel blind right now. I have no idea what features are coming or when.
A lot of Discords gate off their channels by making users click a button or press react to a post (usually a terms of service). In fact, I just checked now: You need to 👍 the terms of service and all the other channels will appear.

OK so this really confirmed what I suspected might be the case with this new XboxHDMI+.
I knew about this mod 2 years ago when I first modded my original Xbox, which I got waaaay back in 2002, but never bothered with as that was also my fist soldering experience & this would simply have been impossible for me.
It's only been about a week since I decided it's finally time I HDMI'd the thing, & well, started seeing that stellar thing attached & the HDMI PCB looking distinctly different.
Yeah, I did wonder just how much things had changed & it did look like they were trying to force people into being locked into their hardware, & actually going so far as to prevent the new XboxHDMI to only work with their Modchip, although I do wonder if that is actually the case, as that new chip also works with that XboxHDMI Legacy board, I'm assuming it has that firmware chip & that allows other modchips to function with it.
God this is such a headache to try & wrap my mind around.
Oooh where to spend the money, I sense this is going to be at least a few months before I can make my mind up, or to just not bother until later this year if at all.

Kinda dumb how you're tied to buying Project Stellar to use the XboxHDMI. Got an X3 chip and I want to mod in an XBOXHDMI without the stellar. How come they can't sell those like they used to?
Because they want to sell you a modchip as well I guess.
I can probably make them. Nem is doing it though so haven't bothered though do have pcb's and parts, but need to redo the pcb on eagle. Might get around to it eventually as with everything else I do lol

I'm really tired of ODE / HDMI board makers trying to lock people in or getting caught up in chip shortages. Someones working on a Pico-based Gamecube ODE. I'll do it to all my cubes once it's available.

I have some weird issues with Elpis, it works fine, but if i use the IGR the image will be shifted to the right or will have a flashing bar at the top of the screen, just various weird artifacts that require me to completely reboot. this is on a 1.2 console. any ideas?

The XBoxHD+ is a digital signal taken directly from the GPU data bus. The Xbox2HDMI takes the Xbox's analog component signal and converts it HDMI. The XBoxHD+ will give you the best possible picture out of all the available solutions out there right now but there are a couple more being worked on. The problem with the XBoxHD+ v2 is that it requires you to also have to buy the Project Stellar modchip for the HDMI mod to work. Obviously if you already have a different modchip installed that may not be a good solution for you.
As far as an internal Xbox2hdmi mod, that may be a good compromise but that would be a digital signal converted to component analog than has to be convert back to digital for HDMI. If you wait there are other HDMI mod solutions being worked on that will give you the pure digital video output that will work with your current modchip.
Also, Electron Shepherd does offer a cheaper option if you wanted an internal HDMI for your Xbox. Its called the Analog2HDMI and is currently $19. There is a youtube video by Spielgruft showing how to do this mod but its in German. Still the process is easy to understand.
